Swanson, Shaw, Rodman and Smith are all dynamic players that needs a coach like Emma to bring the best out of them. I believe they finally have a great coach that will develop our younger talent.
Most people who watch WOSO consistently can see Alez Morgan has been in a new chapter for quite sometime now. We love her, love her performances over the years but sadly has been ineffective for quite awhile now outside of the NWSL, if we want to win, stay competitive with the likes of Spain, England, France, Canada, Japan, Ndr, etc we need strikers who can score consistently. Emma made the right decision, it's time to get back to our winning ways with this next generation.
Your wrong about the new scores, Shaw and Swanson, are some of the best in the world. Smith Rodman top notch. Emma hinted that Morgan had a pelvic concern . She has not been 100 percent since she had her baby . AND Carli Lloyd. Said (you can look it up on UA-cam.)that on the very FIRST day of Vlatco’s practice sessions he had the team practice twice that day. After practice Lloyd said that the older players didn’t want or need two a day practice sessions. After that first day their were never again two a day practice sessions. You can guess who those players were! The older players had too much political clout for any coach to influence his agenda. Poor Vlatco he NEVER stood a chance with those older DIVAS. Emma knows those problems from the past, she knows this team needs a fresh start. Some of the folks even wanted to keep Korban off the team even after she apologized . Emma’s saying let’s play ball.!!! With out forgetting the other issues close to our hearts!…

It's just time, that's all. Alex is still an elite player, and she's still a great person and leader. It's just that she isn't 20 anymore. Sophia Smith is phenomenal, Rodman has the ability to be elite, and Swanson is in great form, so Alex has a lot of similar competition from players that have long careers still ahead of them. Morgan not being on the Olymnpic roster isn't a knock on her, it's just modernity doing it's thing, as it did to Mia, and Foudy, and Abby, and many others.
Alex has been constantly offsides because she is soooo slow now that she knows she can't outrun ANY defenders. She also has not been scoring goals for a long time. The decision is well overdue. She could have announced retirement from USWNT anytime over the last 2 years and chose not to.

Let's see how they fare against their opponents in their group....Zambia is no slouch, Germany needs no introduction, and the Matildas can get real tough, if the US needs to win their last game.....2 draws in their first two games, which is not impossible...so they'll need to win against the Aussies, then we'll see what this team is made of...?
The US has two friendlies remaining......now that we know that Morgan is out, the all important center forward position is crucial....I don't have much confidence in S Smith......I don't mean her talent, but size......against tall central defenders she tends to just disappear, and it will be just a matter of time before she abandons her position, when balls are scarce......But I think Emma is aware of this, so in these last 2 friendly games, games, I expect Jaedyn Shaw to play as a #9.....the position requires the player to be strong, so she cannot easily be pushed around, explosive, for the lack of space....get to the ball faster than the big central defenders in a scoring position......excellent personal technique in tight spaces, and ability (talent) to score......incidentally those were Alex Morgan's weak points, together with all the misses she had in just about every game.......so I can hardly wait to see the battle for the central attacker's position....My hunch is that Shaw has all the qualities necessary for the position, and I hope she will get over the hurdle
Horan and LaVelle are significantly younger than Alex and have not had any babies. Get real.
Let's be honest, Alex shouldn't have made the last World Cup team. Right call was made.
I'm concerned someone might get injured during the USA v Mexico send-off game. Such a rivalry will always be intense, especially given the last result.
It is part of life that players have the heart to play but no long the ability to compete at the highest level. The Soccer Abattoir for the USWNT has paid a visit this year and claimed Becky Sauerbrunn, Kelly O'Hara, Alex Morgan, Tobin Heath, and Christen Press. These were generational players who captured two World Cups that continued the excellence of the USWNT. However, their time is up and it is time to go with the next generation.
Any player that will be close to 35 and older by the next World Cup should be real concerned about their shelf life on the National Team. These players will get lucky to have one more cycle. Enjoy it while you can.
I am not surprised that Alex can't make it to the Olympics. No one can stay on top forever. Early retirement is not a bad thing.
Trinity Rodman and Sophia Smith aren’t just good players. They’re great players. Only casual viewers believe that because they tune in just for the WWC, and probably just the Olympics too. They don’t watch the USWNT and the NWSL beyond the big tournament games. He obviously doesn’t watch them and just measuring them based on their first big international tournament. Smith especially has BITW potential at the forward position. They’re the now and future and both under 25.

Cmon man lets be honest she doesn’t benefit the team like she used to be. For years she has been living off her name and what she did in the past. And don’t say I am a big tournament fan I’ve been a fan since 2016 when they were feared by everyone. Now they have players but it is not good enough to win major tournaments Alex Morgan or not

The other soccer players were scared of Alex Morgan the big score.They were aways around Alec Morgan like 2 or 3 players besides her so she wouldn't score.

NO, IT IS NOT HARD TO MAKE A DECISION TO LEAVE ALEX MORGAN OR THE WAY OVER RATED REPINO HOME IN THIS OLYMPIC!!! I’m glad the latter no longer being around.
Base on the recent merit, last year or two records, Morgan did not do well at all as far as scoring for her team or USWNT.
All of you who are crazy about her past would be hurt, disappointed or angry or whatever…. This is NOT A WELFARE STATE, THIS IS A COMPETITION TO GET THE BEST PLAYERS, THE MOST PRODUCTIVE PLAYERS WHO HAVE SHOWN ABILITIES TO SCORE, ASSIST, OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVELY TO HELP THE TEAM MORE CHANCES TO WIN. Morgan did not show that in last two years despite her past record of a great player. The most recent is IMPORTATANT, and COUNTED!!!
She’s 35 in several days. That means she’s old, slow, awkward and injury prone. Get off Morgan case people, all eras will be over sooner or later, too bad, it’s Morgan era to retire VERY SOON!!! That is the CIRCLE OF LIFE. Do not feel bad about it!!!
