    Go ahead and put in for your referral check from Deere, Matt. I took delivery of our 2025r with radial turfs and 60" belly mower. Loader too, of course. Your videos were no small part of my decision. Particularly the snow handling capability. Got the 60" HLA pusher with back-drag too. Happily my local Deere dealer is also an HLA dealer so that made it easy.
    Have only mowed once so far but am very impressed with the maneuverability. All that I hoped for and more than actually expected in that department.
    Anyway, thanks for the vids. You might wonder sometimes if anyone is paying attention but I can assure they helped me a great deal in my research as this is a first tractor for us.

      thelastmike Thank you so much!!! Congratulations on your new tractor! Happy to see someone liking and watching the videos. I’ll try to make more but family and work seem to take up a lot of time. Thanks again!!

    It's important to note that when you buy a new 1025R, the mower deck does not have the same warranty. It only has a one year warranty and at 18 months, rivets began to pop and it was a $500 fix. John Deere does not stand behind manufacturers defects and you're on your own after one mowing season. I'd never buy another.

    Really odd mowing pattern?

  • @BigDaddyAddyMS

    I’ll never understand people with yard this size using tractors to mow their yard. A nice riding mower is cheaper than the belly mower attachment, by a LOT. Even if you need the tractor for other things, it still makes more sense to buy a separate riding mower.

      Maybe some people just like their compacts for a lawn mower

    I’ve been looking to buy a 1025r or 2025r leaning more towards the 2025r..but I don’t know if the weight of the machine will rut up the yard so I guess what I’m asking have you ever rutted up your lawn with it when it’s kinda wet?

    • @Matt-zn4zp
      @Matt-zn4zp  3 роки тому +1

      Good question, I have only mowed after a heavy rain a couple of times and I honestly can say that I have not noticed anything deeper than the tread of the tire. I must say though, we have a packed clay based soil so I'm guessing that might have a lot to do with it. I don't think a few hundred pounds will make a difference...I think both are good options. Especially if you plan on using it more than just a lawn mower.

      @@Matt-zn4zp ok thanks a lot, I’ve talked to other people about it and they pretty much say the same thing...probably will go with the 2025r

    Matt when you increase your engine speed your blades spin the same speed or faster

    • @Matt-zn4zp
      @Matt-zn4zp  3 роки тому

      The blades do spin faster when I increase throttle. At full throttle, the blades are spinning at 2200 rpm.

    I just bought one of these 2025r with the deck also. I haven't mowed with it yet but does the tractor tires leave ruts in your yard?

    • @Matt-zn4zp
      @Matt-zn4zp  4 роки тому +1

      jared rogers it doesn’t leave ruts but it is definitely a heavy machine. I also don’t mow when it’s wet. If really wet, we push mow.

    Matt, noob to 2025r owner question; when mowing are you at full throttle? Also, are you supposed to engage the mower before increasing it and then decrease it all the way before disengaging it?

    • @wraith3951
      @wraith3951 Рік тому

      Since u didn’t get an answer I hope I can help with “My” Suggestion.
      If it’s a lite duty implementation start PTO engagement at low rpm. What low mean to you and what I think might be different. I start at idle or 1800 rpm even on my heavier equipment like rotary cutter, finish mower, flail mower.
      In my mind starting at a really high rpm introduces a lot of unneeded shock load on your tractor/ PTO.
      Once again that is just my suggestion since u didn’t have an answer to your question

    I am looking to purchase a 2025R was my 4 acres we mow at home. Isn’t that tractor overkill with the size of your lawn? Seems like a smaller tractor would be easier to get closer to things

    • @HexaFox
      @HexaFox Рік тому

      This is exactly what I was thinking. If you have to constantly back up on a tractor like this you know it is too big. My property is less than an acre but we do not have as many obstacles. I still think it will be too big though. Another reason I want it is for the 4x4 on steep hills.

    Hey Matt... I have the Gen2 2025R (2018), what did you as being able to mow in reverse.

    • @Matt-zn4zp
      @Matt-zn4zp  5 років тому +12

      Thanks for watching and good question. I’m not telling you this or am responsible but if you remove the plastic shield under the seat there is a proximity switch that moves when you press the reverse hydro pedal. I ended up zip tying the switch closed full time to trick the switch thinking it’s in neutral or driving forward. Therefore the pto will stay engaged without having to press the pto switch to override while mowing in reverse. I have not had any issues with doing this and have over 120 hrs on the machine.

    How did they the steering knob on straight up? In mine the long bolts(screws)are too short so I had to mount it at an angle by the way looked for longer bolts but had no luck

    • @Matt-zn4zp

      Mike Chovan the steering knob does sit at a slight angle inward but I don’t seem to mind it and don’t notice.

    Does the 2025R with the mower deck easy to maneuver or is it difficult ? Was looking to purchase a 2025R .

    • @Matt-zn4zp
      @Matt-zn4zp  5 років тому +3

      jason willis I find it very easy to mow with. I would recommend getting the auto-connect deck. I can take my mower deck on/off in less than a minute. Great feature for greasing and changing blades. I also have a separate lift/lower control for the deck function. I’m glade I installed that because I can use my 3 point lift function separate from my mower deck function.

    why are you mowing towards the trees and your house? turn the tractor around so your shoot is facing away. for one you can get closer and two you are not throwing clippings in your mulch etc..

      Because I don’t care....and I was getting new mulch to cover up the old stuff.

    Trying to imagine why someone with such a small property would invest in such an expensive unit. Major overkill, but maybe I am missing something. I have a 1025R myself (same drivetrain as a 2025) so, I am scratching my head on this one..... did you look into a big box store JD with a snow plow? You could have saved yourself $20,000 bucks. Maybe you are plowing multiple neighbors drives in the winter for $. ????
