All 4 cameras (or any combination you want) can show on the main screen. The rear camera CAN function as a backup camera if you have an older vehicle (there is a separate wire you simply splice into the wire on one of your backup lights).

Does the rear camera function as a recording camera or a back up camera? Do all four cameras show on split screen?
