- A show & tell video on my small collection of Bluetooth Squares.
I stumbled upon the GWB5600 model and I must admit this is such a great G-Shock. It has all the G-Shock features that we're all so familiar with, looks so iconic, and the watch packs in all the extra goodness such as Bluetooth connectivity.
If you haven't checked these out, I'd say don't wait anymore.
Watches in the video:
GW-B5600BC-1D, GW-B5600MG, GW-B5600DC, GW-B5600-2, GW-B5600HR & GW-B5600BC

Nice collection of GW-B5600. I guess you will have added the new CD ones. But from the older models I would also recommend the AR, SGM and SGZ. Btw the black one is called the GW-B5600BC-1B: the gold one is GW-B5600BC-1.
Thanks for dropping by!
I sold the all-black bracelet version sometime back.
There some more like the blue paisley and caution yellow versions I’m looking at for now. Let’s see if I can snag those at good prices.
@@AndyinSG I recently bought another gold one in Japan. Also take a look at the 3 Charles Darwin ones: positive with the new module 3540. Somehow I still prefer the GW-M5600/5610.
@@HLi-eu5er Thanks for the recommendation.
I think I lack the negative 5610u as well.
The perils of G-Shock addiction…
Thank you very much. Your video has been very informative and helpful to my G-shock square research and purchase!
Most welcome!
@@AndyinSG I really love your yellow gold GW-B5600BC-1JF. Any pointers where I can buy it (online)?
@@indranil2u it’s a discontinued model so best bet would be your local used market.
after 1 you need another 1. They're sooooo good. :)
Yes they are. I’m still planning to add more.
Can you do a module swap between these models?
For example putting the MG module to the HR case, vice versa.
I think others would want to see the results
and maybe others will prefer a negative display on their MG model then positive display on HR model just like the gwm5610.
What I mean is swap the inside module(needs opening the case to get the module inside) and not just swapping the bezels and band, because they have different designs on the face of the watch, hope you get what I mean.
Thanks for dropping by. I don’t think you can swap modules because the case and holders and spacers may be different.
Can the combination bracelet on b5600 use on b5610u ?
Don’t think so.
The combi1 is usually used for the 5610. But a combi2 will also fit.
I also changed the strap for digital camouflage, I put a combi bracelet. You are right it's not comfortable.
I ordered a strap for it and it’s ready for installation. Might just do a video on that if people want to see that.
Enjoy your BT square!
I'm tempted to get GMW B5000GD but it is too big for my wrist.
I think the bracelet makes it wear a bit longer. Pretty sure strap versions are more wearable.
If you have thin wrists you might take a look at the BGD-5000 or a 5650.
Is the watch band on the B5600MG the same as is on the GWM5610? Or is it a little better, maybe a little closer to the GW-5000 (which I love). Thanks.
I’d say they are the same quality. Not so close to the 5000.
@@AndyinSG Thanks so much. I figured that you would be a good person to ask😁
@@seanparks1675 most welcome. Glad to be of help.
Are you collecting the GW-B5600? You are also still missing the SGM and the SGZ: limited edtions...
Well, I can’t say I’m collecting the GWB series. There’re so many that I missed out already.
@@AndyinSG A lot of them can still be found in Japan. I collected some squares: positive, solar and mb. So I do also have 8 GW-B. I like my AR. But because I hardly use BT, the mayority of my watches are GW-M5600/5610.
@@user-cp9mi5st4f you have 8? Wow, you’re the real collector! I am still aiming for the blue paisley and I see that there’s a new one coming out soon.
@@AndyinSG The last positive was the SL-5. The BP and CY are both negative: I'm not buying.
@@user-cp9mi5st4f I understand that most collectors prefer positive display.
I think some of the GWB models look kinda repetitive. Maybe that'll slow down my random purchases.
Andy, I find your collection very interesting. I bought the blue one and like it very very much. I just don't know if I'll mod it to a positive display or leave it undisturbed with its negative display. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for dropping by. I think you should consider getting one more of the same watch to do the positive display mod. Then you’ll have the best of both worlds.
its* negative
@@stfuplsok thanks for the correction. I'm not a native English speaker and didn't catch that grammar mistake. I'll edit it out, but I'm always willing to learn and correct mistakes. Best regards
@@jorgeolguingarcia Same with me. De nada.
New model, GWB5600CY-1 (Caution Yellow), with new module 3540. Get, get, get... 😉
New module? Wow. Ok get get get.
It's the one with the negative display right?
@@kma86 yes, with the negative display. I mean it’s okay, and I think that UV will affect its colour over time
@mybrainlikesthings I used to own the BC with the shiny gold face, the one that Andy loves the most but gave it to a friend. Now I'm thinking of getting the CY
What's the update with the new module on CY1 version? I'm torn between getting that one vs the old all black/HR one like in this video
From your perspective, which one has better legibility? The gold/yellow lcd or grey lcd?
I'm still indecisive which one to pick
and how is the availability of both version?
I think the MG (positive with green accents) has the best legibility. As for availability, it depends on where you’re from. Here in Singapore I’m sure there’re still stocks for it.
@@AndyinSG Thank you, I'll consider it. Great collection you have there btw and its nice to hear your personal opinion on each watches :)
@@dhaccm1333 Thank for watching the video! I’m glad someone is listening to me rambling on. 😹
@@AndyinSG For me it is also important to hear a person opinion about a watch, in case I have the similar taste :)
Because there are already tons of videos about functionality, but I almost never heard the user preference.
Btw regarding gold/yellow lcd vs grey lcd. Which one you like more?
I heard the yellow one is better in terms of it looks better, even though the grey one has better legibility (higher contrast).
@@dhaccm1333 Yes the MG with the greyish display is most legible. The gold tint on the other one looks super cool but comes in second.
I woud hate the fact that all these watches just lay on the shelf most of the time. Thats why I stick only to this all black version. They actually prevented me from buying different Gshock and two Bulovas, because they would be all redundant, rhats how great this watch is.
I guess that’s how it is for watch collectors/hobbyists. Too many nice watches, but only one gets to be worn most.
