I love this run, kinda sad they didn't include the Milk Wars
I can't wait to buy this! I have the ENTIRE Young Animal imprint and this is the last thing I need to get to complete my collection!
Anything else you would recommend?
@@siniquezu__ Firstly, Doom Patrol.
Then, I would say Milk Wars, Far Sector, Shade the Changing Girl, Mother Panic, Cave Carson, and Eternity Girl.
That's nearly everything except for Bug and Collapser.
I enjoyed everything from DC's Young Animal, but it all depends on your tastes and preferences.
@@siniquezu and just to offer a different POV. I tried at least one issue of the first YA wave and DP was by far the best. The others I'd recommend only if you had some nostalgic connection to the 60s 70s source material & were open to having them turned on their head. Shade TCG would be a poor 2nd the art was pretty consistent but the story & pacing muddled stopped and became uninteresting throughout the 12 issues. Mother Panic was trash and I could barely finish the first issue also the worst Super hero costume design I've seen in a while. Jody Houser has yet to write something that interests me. Idk what Mother Panic was supposed to be but even the contrived Batman connection couldn't save it. The BUG six issue mini series is highly recommended if you're a fan of Allred art and Kirby's DCU work.

This Deluxe Edition answers my prayers, because as I read each issue of Way's & Derrington's DP I was saying to myself that these pages would look even better BIGGER. As to Milk Wars exclusion well it wasn't a great crossover event since these characters really didn't need to interact with the rest of the DCU nor did any of the YA creative team seem happy to do it. And at $50 it's already a steep price. Though one JLA DP Milk War issue had great art by ACO that would've also looked great oversized, I think a lavishly illustrated Milk War synopsis could've been written to bridge the gap without breaking the price barrier. Definitely getting this one, in any case.

Do you need to read Grant Morrison's run to understand this run?
Not really, but you should because it’s so good!
This is my fisrt try with doompatrol, lets see how it goes
How close is it to Morrison's? Are the stories weird but make sense in the end? or do they make as little sense as Morrison's (who themself kind of makes fun of people trying to explain what happens because it isn't supposed to make sense)?
It really feels like Morrison’s run. They make sense. Specially the story of Casey and Danny.

I will be kind by simply saying that this is my least favorite Doom Patrol era.
This is a $50 OHC and it's idiocy to keep repeating that this doesn't have Milk Wars. When you get Avengers by Hickman Vol 2 will you also keep mentioning that it doesn't have Secret Wars?
The first printing didn’t include secret wars. But of course I will. I always tell my viewers what is missing. I like to be thorough. If you don’t like it, plenty of other channels out there that just turn the pages. Have a wonderful weekend.
