I don't get why nest invites were ever made. It's between that and spontaneously generating from the ether that I hate most about these kinds of games. Just let me get crapped out of a random egg, and auto-placed into my parents group, not use that immersion shattering nonsense (spawning from nothing should at least be optional). Hopefully once nests are fully furbished we can abandon that invite system completely... or at least restrict it to accepting random wanderers of your same species into packs and herds.
Enjoyed the tour of the map, looks gorgeous at daytime. Makes me wonder what the Night terrors will add. You can still make a hunting video with Ptera plus Deino. That's like 3 content.

You can't use certain controls because of a bug, the way to fix that is this. THOSE OF YOU ENCOUNTERING ISSUES WITH THE ESCAPE MENU/CONTROL ISSUES Open File Explorer from the taskbar. Select View > Options > Change folder and search options. Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK. Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder. At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > and delete TheIsle folder located there. It'll regenerate a fresh version when you relaunch the game.
There are tons of really cool areas on the map, really excited once nesting comes out. Lots of good Petra nesting spots. Also the fishing mechanic is super fun, wish you would have tried it in the vid but there is always next time lol
I can see how some people maybe burnt out by the update because of the beta, but the good news is they said they will be focusing on mechanics first, and dinos second. With the new roadmap that is. And in all honesty them focusing on mechanics first really restored my faith in this game. Because if they work on mechanics first instead of working on them and dinos at the same time, that makes giving dinos mechanics in the future a lot easier and much less time consuming, because if they work on mechanics first, they can just apply that mechanic to the dino instead of working on it at the same time and just putting more time and effort into the update then it needs to be. I mean the whole reason update 3 is taking so long is because The Isle old way of development was to work on dinos and mechanics at the same time, which caused a lot of bugs in such which made it take longer. thanks for coming to my TED talk

8:33 Not true. You can descend by pressing or holding CTRL button. There is no need to pointing your view down. You can also use it with air brake (Z button) to descend vertically - It is really good if you want to land on a specific point. I played a couple of hours and I must admit - this update is golden. Played all of the dinos, but the most fun I had with a Carno. I reached full adult, experienced many adventures and when finally I logged off safely in the bushes, I was really satisfied... with a big smile on my face. Well done Devs!
The Ptera animations looks nice and smoooooooth! Cant wait for for game to eventually get its shit together and we can see massive flocks of these crowding the rocks and cliffs
In order to fix Escape or control issues , go to File Explorer>View>Options>Change.....>View>Show Hidden files and ...then select ok Go to search bar and search %LOCALAPPDATA%>The Isle then delete the file that says saved. Then relaunch the game and a new file will be created with new key functions good as new 😊 let me know if you have any trouble
I actually already went and did that. The only problem was that I accidentally deleted the entire isle folder instead of just the saved folder, so i had to completely reinstall LOL
one minor complaint I have is I think that fossil trackways show pterosaurs actually moved each side limb with each other. So put your right arm and leg forward at the sametime instead of diagonal like most animals
I thought they did something with the graphics, but when I went and checked the resolution was lower. Turned it up to 1920x1080 and they crunched right up! :)

I do agree with Pesky about not regaining stam in the air, be alot better when you can have less stam and better for when your a baby Petra with less and takes more stam :)
You can cross the entire map as an adult ptera without using 10% of your stam. It's kind of awesome. Just work your way up to somewhere high, regain stam, and glide your way to victory. If the barrier wasn't there you could cover insane distances from the radio tower.
Pesky the bubbles you saw at the top of the water surface mean you can fish as a petra. You need to fly close to the surface at one of those places. Then rightclick when above it. You can eat the fish on land.

I’d personally hope for Dimorphodon, the concept “mobbing” will be affective against larger avian dinosaurs but other giant avian creatures would also be nice😊
also those lag spikes are caused by the game rendering in/out different sections of the environment in the screen space, basically the developers suck at optimizing how the game loads.
Stress test is so that they know how much their servers can handle(also at the ptera you had a bug for the lack of air brake and esc that they have fixed now)
I've played as ptero for several hours, and managing stamina for flying is a core part of its gameplay. It incentivises perching on high up spots not only to stay safe from predators but also to conserve stamina for gaining altitude and takeoff. The baby ptero wastes a lot more stamina because its still developing and "learning" how to fly. Adults are much better at not wasting stamina, and I've been able to travel across the entire map on a single bar of stamina. Also your keybinds must be different or broken, because crouch/ctrl does do down during flight
I'm actually enjoying the Isle a bit, after the long break away from it until recently. I disagree that ptera is "spectator" mode however as it lets you explore and stuff. Also, it looks like Pesky didn't realize that those ripples were fish. And that you, as a ptera, can skim through those ripples & catch fish, mixed with the danger of being nommed by a deino :)

Also, since I had the same bug, and the button that said it was for slowing down in midair, Z, didn't work, so what were you pressing???
Tbh i like the old map way better. This on is just ONE big grassland and ONE big forest, no real swamp that ive seen, no landmarks, no roads, and the two existing biome dont exist within eachother(ok so edit there actually a swamp, and quite a nice one at that)
Please if you can....go try the carno too. They did some tweeks to it and it feels so mutch better now. Played in a pack of 3 yesterday and we were able to pluck baby deino's from the water and even had battles with the big boys! Sadly almost everyone is a croc now so getting water and food is very hard unless you take so many risks. Theres no group limits etc. Also AI is very rare on the new map. They tweaked that too; Dryo's now do 4 calls and jump to the sides when you are trying to charge them.
Pesky I know you love dino games but theres an amazing dragon sim game in development that I've been following it for a while, it's called Draconia and it has a great dev team with beautiful custom made models for 6 types of dragons. While it's still in alpha testing it's not perfect but I figured you might wanna check it out because it's nothing like that Day of Dragons scam. They've got a discord and people can speak freely, they voice concerns, provide feedback, there was even an event where everybody got to make a skin for a chance to get it in the game! I've got a good feeling about this game, I'm getting a copy.

Running takeoffs are more stam efficient. Stationary ones are really just for when you need to get in the air quickly
