    I have had WarmnSafe heated gear for 2 years now. I live in Alaska, USA where riding in the summer you can hit near-freeaing temperatures in some of the passes. Excellent quality compared to other brands I have tried. The dial controller is a little old fashioned but once you use it, you won't want to go back to buttons or apps. I just purchased a set of their ultimate touring gloves and they are very similar in feel and quality to my Rukka Imatra gloves. I second the notion about concentration and being warm. I would not have recognized the difference in concentration when warm as compared to cold until trying the heated gear. Thanks for the review.

    Another excellent video, thanks Chris. I use bike all year round and only now am thinking its time to spend on heated gear and make the 28mile round trip each day better. Also its less kit to take off when I get to work at 5am. just one thing though, what is the life expectancy of the jacket?

    First off great videos to everyone one from moto legends! My question is regarding the removal of your thermal layer inside your Belstaff jacket when using your heated gear, wouldn't keeping it in make your jacket even warmer and more windproof?

    • @Motolegends
      @Motolegends  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, I suppose it would. The issue would be about bulk and whether you have enough room for both the jacket thermal and a heated jacket. Potentially the jacket is then too big if you are not wearing all those layers! ML

    • @motolegends2606
      @motolegends2606 4 роки тому +2

      Thanks for your comment. The differences are marked, but let me make just a couple of observations that put clear blue water between the two brands. The Warm and Safe jacket is lighter and thinner, and if you want even less less bulk, the American brand has a heated base layer. The Warm and Safe jacket develops much more heat than the Keis. With the high-tech soldering that is used on all the wiring, the Warm and Safe gear is far less susceptible to failure, hence the lifetime warranty. The controller allows much greater freedom to control the heat, but importantly it connects by Bluetooth, and not by a physical wire. I could go on, but suffice it to say that there’s chalk and there’s cheese!

      @@motolegends2606 Maybe it's lighter and thinner, but Keis is also very thin and light, almost not noticeable ,the difference.More heat is possible, but at 0°,you only need to put the Keis on the lowest setting,so that is no argument.The controller,it seems like w&s wins that one.Keis is also top quality with life time warranty.What I don't like about keis are their gloves, not warm enough(have to put them on highest setting with the heated grips on full power on my gs(in 0°)and the protector on the handpalm is to thick so it becomes super annoying after some time(it keeps your hand 0.5 cm away from the handlebars).Another thing I don't like with Keis jackets is that you can't put the jacket in your trousers because the jacket is to short,so you get a gap between jacket and pants that becomes a little cold after some time,but it seems that W&S has that same issue.It seems to me they are equal,just my idea.

    love this store. however i don't agree about the heated gloves i defy anyone to get there normal gloves on over a pair of heated liners and wear them for more than a few minutes . it only works if you buy a pair of gloves bigger than you would normally wear and as for the heat elements running around the side of the gloves, surely it needs to be around the fingers like Gerbings. Gerbings know a lot about heating and alot about gloves now. they are also a lot cheaper then these. I also have to say the jacket is very similar to the Gerbing one but as with the Gerbing getting the gloves wired to the jacket is a right pfaff when you have one glove on. thanks for a great review. nice bike by the way.
    Geoff

      Little bit confused about some of your comments. Yes, it is true that you need to have room in your outer glove in order to fit the Warm & Safe inside it. We make no secret of this. But the elements in the Warm and Safe glove run up and down the fingers, and so are as close to the fingers as it’s possible to get. You cannot get cold fingers in these gloves; the problem is actually burning your fingers if you do not use the controller. The issue with traditional heated gloves like those from Gerbing is that the elements run in the linings, and you end up heating the external air as much as you do your hands. But the other reason that we like the W&S solution is that it gives you the ability to buy the gloves that you like and that you feel give you the level of protection you want. There are hundreds of different gloves out there, and bikers like to choose the ones they feel confident in. Gerbing is not famous for its knowledge of glove making. They know about heating. They only offer three or four styles of glove. Most of them have cuffs so thick that you can’t tuck them into the sleeve of your jacket, meaning that water can run down the sleeve into the glove. And most are made entirely of leather meaning that they are going to absorb a lot of moisture in the rain. There’s nothing wrong with Gerbing’s gear. It does a job and it’s cheap enough, but if you want the highest levels of protection and the highest levels of heat, Warm & Safe is the way to go.

I refuse to ride in winter now as it's just not safe to ride in torrential rain, regardless what big bucks high tech gear you wear...get the car out or catch a bus...bikes are for enjoying, winter riding doesn't even come close to being enjoyable, plus road salts destroy any bike.
