    That's a beautiful dam, nice placement! Love that you avoided gingival trauma!!

    Do you ever secure the clamps with floss in case one gets broken in half and jumps into the patient's throat?

    Why is so easy when you’re watching 😢😢😢

    I was wondering why there wasn't a ligature placed on the clamp, just in case something happened and it went flying or something.

    Not sure how to tie the self-tightening knot for ligating the teeth. Any tips?
    Thanks!

      Practice makes it easier , but it’s easy if the teeth are intact , the real difficulty is when there is interproximal sub gingival caries

    Do you use anesthetic around the tooth that will receive the clamp?
    Thank you for the video

    How do you decide between a double knot vs single knot floss ligature?

    • @davidgerdolle
      @davidgerdolle  5 років тому +1

      dadthatyou a double ligature provides more tissue retraction.

    Thank you for sharing. What's the name of the hand instrument you used to modify the rubber dam into place?

    • @davidgerdolle
      @davidgerdolle  9 років тому +2

      the instruments used are forceps for the clamp, then simple spatula and the handle of my mirror (which appears black)

    • @hasansaleh6232
      @hasansaleh6232 3 роки тому

      Yes , but the wings make it a little bit trickier

    does this hurt???? looks like it does!

    • @bakirev
      @bakirev 10 років тому

      It does. When he puts it on it hurts bad, then it calms down a little (still hurts) when he takes it off the worst for a few seconds. Then it's gone. Or maybe my dentist used a wrong size or something, but I don't think so.

    • @amymcguire4983
      @amymcguire4983 10 років тому

      Scootaloo Loves You! :3 Hi, you would have been administered local anaesthetic before this was applied to your mouth. So it really shouldn't hurt provided it has been done correctly :). Also this dentist did a textbook job of this dam and didn't seem to my estimations, overly rough. Hope you feel less anxious about your dental treatment and trust me rubber dam has a lot more pros than cons ;)

      Patients love the rubber dam because they don’t wanna taste the junk that comes out of their own teeth, besides u don’t have to spit or swallow any extra water because it stays outside ur mouth and the assistant will aspirate it out , and it makes treatment faster , easier and sterile
