    We hope this helps you identify and remove pool stains! Like we mentioned, if it's an organic stain, use chlorine shock. If it's a metal stain, you'll want to identify the type and buy the right metal remover. And if you have a surface stain above the water, you can use a bleach-based solution for an organic stain or a lemon juice solution (ascorbic acid) for a metal stain!

    I have a nasty dark water line stain all the way around the top of my pool. I’ve never been able to get rid of it with anything, but the one thing I found that is working is mr. clean magic erasers. I got about half of it gone today . Went through 2 erasers doing so. I’ll go back out tomorrow to finish up.

      Use an enzyme remover. Its grease from sunscreen and natural skin oils that pick up dirt and stick to the waterline of the pool.

    Just moved in to a house with a pool. It had green stains on the walls from not being taken care of. Have shocked it multiple times and they just won’t go away. Any ideas? Waiting on a more aggressive brush from Amazon. It’s a gunite pool.

      Have you tried the two testing methods we mentioned in the video? Try scrubbing the stain with a chlorine tablet. If it doesn't lift at all, try ascorbic acid/vitamin C. Depending on the shade of green, it may be metal stains that won't lift with shock or chlorine.

      @michaelwilper 3 роки тому

      @@SwimUniversity following everything here and my pool is looking way better. I’ll probably have to triple shock again to get the rest of it off. Thanks a million!! Now can you make it warm up so we can do more than look at it and clean it?

    • @sweetmcnasty
      @sweetmcnasty 3 роки тому

      I moved into a house and the owners let the pool go green during closing. The prior owners dumped a few chlorine tablets at the bottom of the pool to "shock it" (didn't work). Turns out all of our stains are chlorine stains and the only way to get them out is to redo the plaster (pebbletek in my case). The video goes over normal staining and it's quite effective for thsoe stains. Seek a professional if your stains don't go away using the video's instructions. Never over chlorinate the pool.

    • @michaelwilper
      @michaelwilper 3 роки тому +1

      @@sweetmcnasty That's interesting. We appear to also have 6-7 spots on the floor where it looks like they just tossed chlorine tabs in the pool. They are kind of a yellow/brown stain. I was going to try some muriatic acid on those spots.

I didn't notice them right away but now it's sunny out I can see them clearly. I tried to scrape them off with my finger nail but they appear to be imbedded in the quartz. My PH and Alkalinity is perfect. My chlorine is a little high but just swam all day so I added a little extra. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. I just subbed too.

Can’t see bottom still. I do have well water and there was a metal pipe and brick sitting at the bottom of the pool for about 2 years could that have
    caused metal in my pool. I’ve shocked , flocked , liquid chlorine ,clarifier, organic eating stuff , I’m about to throw in the towel 🥺 my bday is Saturday and really wanted the pool ready I’ve been at it for 1week 6 days 7hrs 10mins 8seconds!! Any advice?
