- Using some faux leather from one of the Cricut Mystery Boxes I make this passport holder, but it didn't exactly work out the way I wanted it to. However, I think there are some lessons to be learned and I think you might be inspired by what I do.

3 passes debossing worked great!
Awesome!!!
I know this is an old video but I've seen people use strong grip transfer tape sticky side up on top of their mat before putting leather on. That way when you are done you just pull off the transfer tape and your mat stays clean.
What a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
Love how that turned out Ian! Great tutorial.
Thank you!!
Great idea
Thank you!
Great project. Excellent tutorial. Wishing you a super week. Hugs Susan
Thank you so much. Have a great holiday weekend!
This might have been a good time to use your Foil Quill to make the design, instead of debossing. Noted for myself.
I also wondered if your Easy Press might flatten the roll in the material?
I agree with you. I bet the Foil Quill would have worked well. The EasyPress might have helped but I would be worries about melting the faux leather. 🤷🏼♂️
I wonder if you were to try one of the various coloring agents like DecoArt Metallic Lustre or Lumiere by Jacqurd or some other paint like a wash if it would bring our the definition and make it more visible?
It’s possible!
I wonder if using the pink fabric mat may be better for real leather. Cool project.
It might be but not sure. Will have to play with it and see.
Im thinking copy the deboss layer and setting it on top so it does it twice?
That would work!
Per the Cricut instructions were you directed to use the glue or was it to be sewed? I just used the faux leather to make a much smaller wallet. I see what you mean about it being kinda flimsy.
I was going rogue so I wasn’t following any directions. I like to experiment and see what happens.
Random question...What is that blue cart with the mesh drawers? I've been looking for a good Cricut cart!!!
That’s the origami folding drawers. It’s sold on HSN.com. It’s name is Origami Foldable 6-Drawer Hobby and Home Cart.
@@OffKilterCrafterIan Thanks so much!!
great video! Can you share the files for the Cricut? or SVG? Thanks :)
I can’t share the Cricut file because it has an image I imported, but I’ll get the link for the passport holder.
Here is the website I got the files from to make mine. makesupply-leather.com/templates/make-a-leather-passport-case-free-pdf-template-build-along-video-tutorial/
Maybe you should have used clips to keep in place before glue, then remove small sections to glue.
Very true.
Hi there, love both of your projects and it was better than my first attempt, can i recommend a video from another youtuber who i get lots of ideas and information from. This lady does alot of testing which is great. Hope you find what you are looking for.
ua-cam.com/video/PTtxkjJuoYg/v-deo.html and before i go, i quick tip is to use transfer tape on your mat so material leaves bits on tape instead of mat and can be discarded. See you in the next one. Bye for now.
Thanks for the suggesting and the tip!
