I recommend the podcast Hikibiki ! It's a man and a woman having conversations about a chosen topic (most of the time about news and trends). Conversations aren't following a script so they speak very naturally. It might be difficult to follow because of this but it's really good for real immersion !

If you ever make an update to this video, the TokiniAndy Channel started a podcast recently that might be worth looking at. I'm not even N5 yet so I can't say how good it is for beginners, but it is at least something to listen to that seems to be fairly casual conversational Japanese.

One of my absolute favorites to listen to is Ken Sensei's "Crazy Japanese Culture", he talks about the fun, weird and not-so-often talked about Japanese culture and lifestyle. He also does collabs with his friends, students, and colleagues, which are pretty interesting and fun to hear as well. The first half of each episode has an English explanation and is very easy to follow for beginners with basic Japanese knowledge, then he says the whole thing again only in Japanese (which is perfect for intermediate learners). So, it's really an efficient way to ease into listening to Japanese without any English help for beginners while also learning a lot about Japan :)
Awesome! Most of these are new to me. Thanks for sharing! I started listening to Japanese podcasts 2 weeks during my commute to work. I've noticed I can't fully concentrate on the whole episode since I drive, but it helps me get my listening practice daily. Do you usually listen to an episode once or do you sometimes repeat them?
Glad you found some new ones! Zoning out is totally normal, I can barely pay attention to an entire English podcast without getting distracted 😅 I usually don’t listen on repeat, but sometimes I’ll rewind a couple seconds if something catches my attention. I think listening to them multiple times can be really useful but I usually space them out enough so I forgot what happened so it’s not boring. If you’re at the stage where nothing makes sense yet though, listening on repeat can be really helpful! I did that a lot for the Genki audio tracks

I’m very busy in my day to day life with work and listening comprehension sounds like a good idea, but I’m just not sure how I could go from knowing very little Japanese to actually understanding full sentences. How does this work, especially without visual cue? I’m not trying to criticize anything, I’m just having a hard time learning Japanese lately…

Not stupid at all! Gaining some basic vocab will make immersion go more smoothly, but isn’t necessary if you want to jump right in! If you do want to jump right in I’d recommend using something with a visual component to make things easier like @Comprehensible Japanese on YT
My favorite is soko ani. It’s a podcast where they essentially just deep dive and pick apart different animes. I found it on a wani kani board(also a great place to find podcasts). It’s a podcast that’s made for native speakers so I can’t understand the majority of it yet with the exception of a couple words or sentences. But if there’s an anime you like, it’s pretty easy to pick out which ones they’re talking about even if you’re just starting out
