I don't know why but this video gave me the confidence to say "screw it" and I just bend them with my hands. They feel SO much more comfortable now. Before they made my brain feel like it was going to explode. Thanks for the video man.
I bought my first headphone after 7 years. The newer one has a metal band, and it hurts my ears so much. I thought I'd get my ears get used to the pain but after a month of using the pain, but it didn't. Then I came by this video by accident, I didnot look up or anything, and I tried out your method. Thank you so much, it works wonderfully!
I actually made the sliding clamp longer, so the BOTTOM of my ears fit into the headset. It's actually a lot more comfortable, now that my ear bottoms are inside the circular pocket. The bottoms of my ears are what hurt, so I think that was my issue.
Having a very small head with big ears AND glasses is like headphone hell. Open backs are the way for me, the DT 700 hurts like hell with that 1.3 lbs clamp force it's horrible
I can’t believe I didn’t think of using books or something along those lines. U earned a subscriber. I put my headphones on my tower, let’s see if it works lol
oh. my. god. THANKS. my headphones have an awesome noise cancel but they were giving me headaches and even causing problems with my jaw. I'M FREE NOW, THANK YOU SOOO MUCH.
I hope you did make a second video for adding comfort to the ear covers. I need sound isolation but the headset is mashing my brains. Your video has given me hope. I am going to try the books first. Thanks so much!
Even if my head was like a hamster's head it would be tight😂 G335,I bought it because they praised its comfort. I did not expect it to be like this. I cannot stand wearing the headset for more than 30 minutes.
@@Dark_Souls8907 When I leave it for a few hours, immersed in books or anything, it becomes comfortable, but with time the energy of attraction returns, and I do not know where it comes from. Perhaps nuclear energy can be generated from this headphone.😂😂
Obvious advice for any metal headband but what about plastic ones. Like i e. Jbl that are so tight that I can hear my heartbeat, blood flowing in the veins, an every step I take. Yes the easiest way to fix it I to change headphes to Audio Technica series M or S and You receive great comfort and sound but... I still have JBL live 660NC
@@RebeccaKwanga Honestly I stretched them and it works. I'm using them when I work with electric tools and Is very loud. Noise Canceling works enough. Ear pads are too small for me and is interesting why most companies are making them smaller than years ago. Again Audio Technica is more comfortable. If You bough them via internet You can return them.
I have had success with plastic band headphones by stretching them with whatever works then putting them in the oven on low heat. Be careful not to over stretch. The book stretch did not work for me.
I'm glad this worked out well for you, James! A safer way could be to use a heat gun and only apply heat to the headband - to avoid damaging the ear cups/pads/solder joints.
I'm not watchin full yet but mannn you got my problem, i try searching on audio forum but no answer to this problem edit: damn it really work for my m40x
My brother got me really fancy headphones 4 years ago and I haven’t been using them bcs after 15minutes I get a headache my friend who has the same ones uses them but also struggles with them being extremely uncomfortable. I’m hoping this will help bcs I really like them I just never use them when I’m going places since I like to have headphones on the whole train ride and they are unbearable.
just get a b&w Px7 , as you said a small head should feel more clamp …and I’m wondering if I can stretch my headphones on something wider. And I got the answer from video. Let’s see the magic after several days . (Subscribe from taiwan
Only if you are very very careful not to heat them up too much. If for example you are using a heat gun, depending on the type of plastic, there is a very fine line between just the right amount of heat to stretch the plastic and way to much heat that will damage the headband forever. I would try it out without heat (just the books) first. Hope this helps!
Any advice with the Arctis 9X? Tried to bend them from the middle with the thumbs thing but the metal is like really heavy duty so it doesn’t do much. I been hearing reports of them breaking near the swivel so was nervous to try too much stuff.
Are you sure it was meant it as a joke, in more recent times there are, it seems, rapidly increasing numbers of doltish people demonstrating anencephalous symptoms. 😉
ive been using Sony cheap heaadphones for over 10 years. They were perfect, not toot tight, not too big, to cause discomfort on glasses wearing people, the sound quality was perfect. Unfortunately one of the cable got damaged because of my actions.. Bought a proper gaming headphone next, brand name Corsair.. God it horrible.. The sound quality is horrible, (like you are in a cave), the headphone are so tight, its so uncomfortable.. i have to re-adjust them every few minutes.. The only positive point is that you can directly adjust the volume through a volume control boutton on the headphone.. Then I bought a more expensive gaming headset.. Same problems..etc I will never waste money on that crap again.. Just get a normal standard Sony headphone. It's cheaper and FAR better.
Yeah, many "gaming" headsets are more focused on the "cool" factor/appearance/RGB than on comfort/sound quality. There are of course exceptions, but you seem to have had back luck with your pair. Hopefully more manufacturers will get their priorities right in the future!
alternatively you can adjust the shape of your head
Haha 😂😂

I'm working on it. For years. 😉
You just saved me so much time!
@@msStoDwa Just let the air out (duh) 😂
It feels like my skull is being deformed every hour that I wear these headsets
It's crazy they are making those like they really are for torturing people instead of comfort.
dont force them. leave them stretched with the books and use a hair dryer to warm the materials so they expand. no forcing necessary.

How long did you stretch em for?
i was almost disappointed with my purchase but bending the metal thing did the trick. now i can enjoy my new headphones! thank you so much

Exactly
“This happens more when you have a smaller head”

what headphones are they?
I also have problems with my jaw and cheeks and I suspect it's because of the Sennheiser M4, I will try to stretch them

pssh, the book fix didn't even take half the day. I was fully expecting to take the predicted ten days you mentioned. thanks a lot for the fix!

Thank you for the idea, im gonna try to stretch mine around the side of a guitar case

How do you make them clamp more ?

is this still applicable for self adjusting headphones like the samson sr850 or is it just a slower process?

So funny, having the same issues w/ my 9Xs
Same here. Just got my Arctis 9xs earlier today and already I’m feeling the clamping issues on them
I have beoplay h95 and the clamping is too tight. did everything, but can't fix the problem.
Pro tip: if you don't have a set of books just put them on the side of your knee and stretch with your legs
bro this helped me thanks from india😳☺☺
Happy to hear that ❤️ Enjoy your headphones!
Thank you ❤
underrated tho
Thank you Misha Collins.
What if we stretched them for too long ?
Skullcandy crushers for me!
That's exactly what I trying to stretch right now lol
Can you please make video how to clamp headphones?
Have you found a solution i have the same problem
Thank you sir
Thank you so much
The only problem I have is that I wear glasses and my headset is too tight on one ear, causing me to have an indent from my glasses
What if u don't have books?
Try using an appropriately sized box (save those shipment boxes, shoe boxes, or use the box the headphones came in).

can i get the link ot headband cushion

I will try this just got hyperx ps4 cloud and my ear hurt after 10 minutes
Since they are new, you should probably also give them a couple of days to break in and get conformed to your head shape. Good luck!

Will this procedure work with behind the neck headphones?
I would be extra careful with them, since they're probably fully plastic, but it should work fine👍
Does it work with razer kraken x ?
Should work with them, yup.
put them around a pc instead of books for ease :)

thanks buddy
My headphones are to short for me
I did same with a 15 CM ruler 😅
How do you tighten them because there that loose that if feels its falling of my head
Easiest way - get thicker pads for them. They might change the sound a bit, but should make them fit better.
