Lino, you’ve outdone yourself with this video. I personally think it’s your best tutorial yet! Detailed, do’s and don’ts, and little bits of advice, lol the hallmarks of a great tutorial. I personally liked the big block lettering as to send a message home. I myself have started my foray into the transitions. It’s been a shaky start but my skate crew have been very supportive and with your tutorial, I think I’ll be getting up and down those ramps / transitions in no time. Funny thing, I learned the whole chin (or as I like to say, head) thing the hard way. The crew here rented out an awesome indoor park, which is built for bmx, and we skated there. There are a number of pump tracks there and they convinced to me to roll it. Let’s just say I comically ended up with my legs in the air and butt on the floor.
Daniel Naron hehe , thanks david. I have been at home this week so it’s a. Not diferent when you have more time . Even if all I had was my lil Canon g7x Camera . 👊🏼 thanks for the feedback. Or 2018 there’s are some hanged happening in this channel ;) just waiting to hit the 10k subscribers 😉👊🏼💥
I'm having massive trouble with pumping a miniramp/halfpipe - falling on my knees all the time. What you say about remaining perpendicular to the angle of the slope is a total revelation and makes perfect, perfect sense. It all slots into place - in theory at least! THANK YOU! - OBRIGADO!
I know I am late but your explanation really helps. Your the first that explain what really happen when you going through the transition. My brain is still trying to wrap around the non flat surface. But I'm hanging there...thanks heaps.
Chap I just want to say thank you, I just got some skates after 20 year break. Just been to my local half pipe and your video helped alot. Your Chanel is an inspiration love it keep up the work.
Great vid! My wife got me Trimax frames for christmas, and I can't be more stoked. They're so much fun! If your USD VII-Trimax is a stealth fighter, my version with the 2016 K2 Unnatural boot is ninja :p One thing I'd love to learn to do better, and I know half-pipe skills are a good building block for it, is bowl skating. There's a really nice outdoor concrete park in Sacramento, California called Granite Skate Park, and it has a lot of deep bowl features. Can't wait to fall on my butt trying to carve them in my triskate setup! Good thing the Mrs. got me some new pads, too!
some bouncy action in this one...:) Been trying halfpipe for the first time last saturday (just a bit). It's the only one in town, made of sheet metal and massively steep. Hit my hip a little and the side of the knee even less (right outside the padding of the protector. Skated back home with no issues, but the next day... Well I'm now able to bend that knee freely after two days. Protection can't substitute attention!
Lino, seria legal um vídeo dando dicas de como e andar em halfpipes e skate parks em patins de rodas grandes sem espaços para grinds. Vídeo muito bom, ansioso para a parte 2!
Hi Ricardo, great video! I remember when I was working my way to learn and always was losing speed because I had no idea how to pump correctly. I would like you to add a section about how to fall correctly when on ramps - even with this nice tutorial, I know that many will make tiny mistakes and will end in their knees...
Just revisited this video. I'm now pumping fine, but dropping in fakie (backwards) is giving me problems. It's been a good reminder of the importance of staying perpendicular to the pipe. Now I just need to find the balls to drop in backwards, sitting into the drop off the coping.
Hey! I really enjoyed your videos, I am having trouble to keep/increase speed going up a ramp/pipe and the coping .... do you have ant extra tips for that?
Thanks Ricardo! I'm 41 and getting back into aggressive inline skating after a 20+ year hiatus. I’m a foreigner living in Shanghai and found a cool skatepark that offers lessons. Got my third lesson tomorrow!
I'm having a hard time learning to pump properly. Like I get the idea and I feel like I'm doing it, I can feel a little speed boost when I do it, but it's not right because I am losing momentum and end up having to skate on the flat. I noticed you do a little pump right before the transition. Like a little push on the flat. Is that what you are doing? I get pumping going down but can you please explain pumping going up?
When i go forwar,my right foot is in the front but when i get backward,my left foot is in the front (on the halfpipe).. should i change it to get more stability? Thanks lino
pumping a ramp Is like relaxing you're body End flexing it. you know when people try to lift you up its more difficult when but when you flex its easier that is why murders Berry there bodies in thier garden because the body is to havy

daves2hd the truth is what’s easy for some of us , it’s shive barriers for other.. and the goal with this channel isto make skate grow.. all levers ... side walls up and down video , good idea 😉
Oh for sure, keep making videos for every level of skating from pro to beginner on all kind of different environments. The stuff I can't do still is super interesting and inspiring to work towards to! For me going backwards is super scary still, I have no control yet. I'm looking for a nice open spot near my area to practice when the weather finally decides to stop raining. Bought a set of practice cones already :D
Lino it's spencer from England. , first off merry Christmas and hope 2018 is going to be a good one! I got a pair of Chaya karma skates with the grind blocks for Christmas! My question is. Why are the blocks sloped towards the outside of the boots and the flat face of the block on the inside.? I want to learn to grind along a steel pole or the edge of a ramp. Any help or tips with this would be brilliant. Thanks buddy.

I would love to have a ramp like this in my garden :D
Alex We thanks dude . I build it myself about s month ago. It’s not expensive and. It’s a cool family project if you have a bit of space 👍🏼

Great video. I’d love a part 2 video about stepping out and dropping in! I find stepping out really difficult.
Jonathan Hobson yes I guess part needs to be made too ;)

Brilliant Video. Thanks. This is the best explanation about anything I've ever heard. I almost feel like I could ride a halfpipe now.
Dude. Awesome video. Muchas gracias amigo. Much love from UK
Thank you for the explanation. I'm going to try these instructions soon as I've been struggling with backwards skating.
Thank you I was having a lot of trouble trying to turn on the halfpipe and now that you talked about the 180 it makes much more sense now for me
Yay, so now : How to GRIND an halfpipe🙃Thank for you knowledge Ricardo!
Those really made my day, she’s a 10

Thanks for this! I managed to jump in on the ramp on my first day at the skatepark after watching this. The swing analogy was helpful.

And also shin guard and forearm guards too, but especially shin guards because of falling shin first onto the the ramp.
Please do a how to on inlines at the pump track!🙏 Also Q: for a beginner is it better to learn the half pipe or pump track first?

Hey! I really enjoyed your videos, I am having trouble to keep/increase speed going up a ramp/pipe and the coping .... do you have ant extra tips for that?
Hey, loving your videos after starting skating again after 22 years. Do you have any plans of dimensions for the ramp you built please?
Thanks Ricardo! I'm 41 and getting back into aggressive inline skating after a 20+ year hiatus. I’m a foreigner living in Shanghai and found a cool skatepark that offers lessons. Got my third lesson tomorrow!
I was just there a month ago. You’re talking about the dock 1 skatepark right? Regards
Lino
I want to skate with you one day. Give a shout if ever in england
I'm almost 55 years old ... can I still skate the vert halfpipe?
Gracias.
In my city there are two halfpipes with different highs, but the bigger one is currently broken. Even the smaller one is a lot higher than this one.
How do I pump to get on top of the ramp? No ones videos on youtube show that.
good girl

He's a beginner.
Is that an half pipe? I thought it's a mini ramp
Who can build a ramp like this for me
se é patins está n oar patinadores.com.br/how-to-skate-an-halfpipe-first-steps-vlog-205/

1st realize there are no stairs up and you can't pump so just walk away.
You have a beautiful wife, Ricard Lino
Love your skate vids, too.
Tony Jee thank you so much! I really love my wife and I’m really lucky 👊🏼💥
