I'm SO glad I just found this! My son was just diagnosed with a facial/ eyes motor tic and it breaks my heart. The neurologist just said it's normal and will go away eventually. 🤦‍♀️

Hi, I am looking for help in finding something similar to what you offer in Canada, preferably Vancouver. My 8 yr old just started exhibiting what appears to be motor tics. She is a gymnast and she usually can’t sit still for long but she has not been diagnosed with any conditions-I don’t believe she has ADHD because she is an attentive student etc. but she often moves her body, such as doing cartwheels or handstands or stretches. But recently she has been turning her neck and making facial expressions impulsively (tics) that she describes as having an itch she has to satisfy and can’t help it. Any recommendations would be helpful! I’ve made an appointment with a Family chiropractor who treats children. Thanks for your help!!

My 5 year old son is going through this right now! It came out of the blue for us and I resonate with everything you said. Are there specific things I should ask a chiropractor to make sure they’re the right fit?

My 6 year old just started having tics. Started with his mouth then licking the same spot under his lip, to squinchy eyes really hard then his neck. And then all at once. It progressed super fast. Didn't have it as much for about 4 days then exactly a week from when he got really bad he started again but completely different. His eyes would get very bugged eye. And then stretching his neck all at the same time. And then at the end looks like he is just out of it with his eyes closed almost. Been to pedo and we and all three agreed its not normal tics and needs to be seen by Nero asap. Went to er today and they didn't even really look at him or watch him longer than a second or two just went off my answers and describing what happenes. I went to get MRI and EKG and instead of doing what my pedo wanted us to do they diagnosed us with tics caused by stress. Took them 5 seconds to diagnose that after I told them we lost my husband 7months ago. Didn't think he needed MRI and EKG. Said even though he's constant all day where his eyes and jaw are hurting him and hard to do homework and scheduled us for the Nero for March of 2025. Any advice on what I should do if I can't get in with Nero any sooner? I'm hoping my pediatrician changes it and makes them see that it is an emergency and my baby is struggling. He is 6 and they are acting like it's nothing but stress. I'm not even sure what my question is. I hate seeing my boy like he is. It happened so fast. I'm scared abd just would appreciate any advice. Thanks so much!

Hi Haley! Truthfully this kind of stress and tension gets locked into the neurospinal and neuromuscular system, and rarely if ever has a root cause or trigger of something that will show on an EEG, MRI, EKG or other medical neuro testing. As you're experiencing that's all they know how to do is quickly assess symptoms and then run a barrage of tests that honestly aren't really related to what's going on. Get him to a PX Doc and Neurologically-Focused Chiropractor ASAP and get INSiGHT Scans run on him to really find the root cause and nervous system dysfunction / subluxation! You can find all the info on the scans and our directory at www.PXDocs.com!
