    Had my first experience sparring at a tournament. I first tried to dodge them which kept getting me kicked off the matt. My coach said to block so I started blocking which was great but I couldn't get any kicks in 😢😢 This video would have been super helpful!! Thank you. Ready to jump back in and practice these.

    I’m one belt off black belt in ITF taekwondo. When I spar in competitions I get a lot of people that come at me with multiple punches to the head and they are relentless with them. I fight fire with fire too but what would you recommend would help in this situation?

    • @W1Taekwondo
      @W1Taekwondo  Рік тому

      Timing your counter attacks. Pretty much dodging the punches through slides or rolls and angles and always throwing a counter while you do that, that will stop them from coming as much. Although ITF is no contact right? So that might explain why they keep coming no matter what you do because they do not really get hit. Generally if you attack and you get countered, it will slow you down no matter how aggressive you are. Besides that you open yourself when you attack so you could get countered hard.

    I feel all this work fine just in prac sparring....😂 In the tournament only way to fight an agressive opponents is to be agressive as well....its tkd after all opponent would get the point even if his kicks barely land...thats what i learnt from my first few kyorugis...nd now i dont loose except for a few fights in open tournaments...most opponents get naturally scaredy and try to defend more and i feel thats a major mistake

      that makes him predictable, so you can always doge and change the distance on him. Going straight head level is pretty easy to miss, it`s more obvious and you can make him miss through footwork and distance management.

    @samcas2150 2 роки тому +13

    Para los que hablen español:
    Estrategia #1: Obstruir a tu oponente, cuando llegue el sparring, ellos atacan muchos, así que tienes la opción de obstruir su juego con movimientos considerados legales en competencia, como evadir por medio del juego de pies, pero debes contraatacar, no solo esquivar, porque ahora es considerado ilegal hacer más de 3 desplazamientos, así que no solo evadas los ataques, sino que debes contraatacar, para eso sirve el juego de pies, para crear el espacio de contraatacar; otra opción es cambiar de ángulo, por medio del juego de pies busca un nuevo ángulo y contraataca.
    Otra opción es evadir por medio del juego de pies y después saltar al clinch, comienza a evadir para engañarlos y cuando menos lo esperen, salta hacia ellos en clinch, también puedes entrar en clinch desde el momento en que ellos lancen su primer ataque; al entrar en clinch puedes usar un puñetazo para dominar y combinarlo con patadas.
    Movimientos que obstruyen:
    1.- Usar el brazo cuando te pateen para desviar su pierna y ganar un ángulo favorable, donde puedes hacer un gancho a la cabeza.
    2.- Levantar la pierna para que cuando te ataquen, usas tu pierna para desviar la patada, obteniendo un ángulo favorable y atacando, evitando la parte trasera de la cabeza, pues se considera ilegal.

    Estrategia #2: Pelea fuego contra fuego. Si no quieres que el oponente domine la pelea y quieres dominar tú, responde de manera agresiva. Puedes retroceder un par de veces, sí el oponente solo entra directamente significa que es todo lo que saben, no tienen experiencia, por lo que puedes alterar su confianza fácilmente, para hacerlo ataca a su cabeza desde el inicio. Sí te atacan por muchas patadas, desvía la patada y patea a la cabeza; sí estás a una distancia corta, desvía y usa una patada de hacha a la cabeza, generalmente cualquier patada que se adapte a tu contexto, y verás como la actitud de tu oponente cambia.
