I grew up watching Wagon Train, never missed an episode. I was only 5 when Ward Bond died, but for some reason every time I watch him now on MeTv, he reminds me so much of my granddad. Major Adams, Charlie Wooster, and Flint McCullough were always my favorites. I’d much rather watch these great old westerns than the garbage on tv these days. We have the whole set of Wagon Train on dvd.
As a young girl, Wagon Train was my favorite series. Decades later, it’s still one of my favorites. Ward Bond my favorite wagon master, though liked John McIntire. I wish there could be another series like it for today’s youth, but it cannot be replaced. Thank heaven the series is still available!!!!
Imagine yourself rolling across Indian territory with a bunch of your neighbors. These people were real. They were some tough Americans. I am in awe of the ones who came to conquer this land for our soft asses!
I'm a 21 year old woman who recently discovered Wagon Train and I love it so much compared to the garbage out there now. I absolutely love both Wagon Masters, Major Adams and Christopher Hale. But OMG, the guy (Lee Marvin) they hired to take Major Adam's place was such a complete prick. That's why my favorite episode is The Christopher Hale Story, in which John McEntire takes over as Wagon Master after defeating Judd Benedict (Lee Marvin) in a bare fisted duel. There simply isn't any replacing Ward Bond, one of the greatest actors of all time but I do believe that John was the best man to fill his very large shoes.
I loved this theme but they got rid of it . I like the other to . But prefer this one great cast. Robert Horton leaving i believe hurt the series. I love Ward Bond but losing both hurt the show.
Money and copyright issues is the reason for a lot shows . W.K.R.P. cut out a lot of the music on the show they didn't want to paid the artists The same with the fox werewolf series not be release on dvd Not wanting to paid for the music by the artists on the episodes Really sad when you think about it
@@maricatrinmusicvids Lot of moving parts to that. Many times it's some network suit that comes in after the fact and says "that theme song sucks! If we renew it next fall, it's going to be with a new theme."

Rawhide is another great series with a nice theme song. Clint Eastwood, Sheb Wooley( of the purple people eater song, Paul Brinegar. Had a lot of good quality stars for most episodes.
Are you able to tell me which episodes are the ones with a) everyone praying including Flint b) the young man threatening Major Adams with a gun. I have seasons 1-4 but can’t find those scenes, thanks 🤞

a great show that dealt with people's morals and character. I still watch it when I can. Ward bond was the best.
