When you mentioned you wanted to talk a bit more on birth and birth experiences my first thought was “oh wow, is she looking into becoming a doula?” Looked up your Hello column bc I really wanted to know, and when I read that that is indeed what you’re thinking of doing, I actually choked up a little. I just think that’s amazing. I admire so much the way you take the things that are important to you and act on them in such important ways. (Also, I think you’d be an amazing doula. I’ve been thinking a LOT about my own possible children lately and maybe I’m biased since I’ve been following you for so long but you’re def the type of person I’d want nearby when I’m giving birth, seriously!)
The thing I love about social media is that there's enough room for everyone, from the younger generation to the oldie but goldies, there's something for everyone. An important thing to remember is that we're all still learning, no matter our age. Do what you love and the right people will find you 💕 It's so lovely to see you back Louise x

(Never apologize for taking a break for Social Media! I recently took a 4 month break from all media because sometimes the negativity gets ya!!! Proud of you!!)
I think the best solution for the dress would be to find a seamstress you love and just have her make it! You've never been a follower, you're a trend setter and a leader. Loved this video so much! I had a friend make my dress and I needed no help putting it on (except a little zip).
Louise!!! I tried on my first set of wedding dresses yesterday and I REALLY get where you’re coming from, especially as a fellow curvy queen. My actual bum hole was in the poor lady’s face… Prosecco helped, but so did finding a salon (I live so far away so can’t recommend mine) that stocked dresses that were bigger than my clothing size. It really helped! I wish you all the best and can understand exactly how you feel xxxx
I had the exact same experience in a wedding dress boutique, went to a 'standard' shop and just couldn't imagine any of the dresses fitting me as they were all clipped etc. Went to a plus sized specialist shop and felt like a princess, definitely recommend finding a specialist shop! x

Wedding dresses: I saw a TikTok recently where someone had the same experiences as you in wedding dress shops and ended up getting her dress completely custom made. She worked with a dress maker and so her dress was exactly as she wanted and she knew it would fit whenever she tried it on because it was made to her measurements. Not sure how different it was in terms of cost but could be a good option to have a dress that you know you’ll love.
Vietnam (specifically Hoi An) is the best and cheapest place to get custom clothing made. I’ve seen some people get their wedding dresses done here. They are some of the best tailors in the world and have so many options!
The bridal shop a few people have mentioned from TV is Curves & Couture Bridal Boutique which is in Essex. They cater specifically to curvy and plus size brides x

You're so right about the trauma of wedding dress shopping. Nothing like the joyful, girlie experience you imagine. I found the whole thing horrible, self-conscious, and uncomfortable. Ended up selecting a dress I hated just to get it over and done with, and spent the whole day miserable.

The staff are so kind and adaptive. Maybe this would be an experience that would make you more comfortable? Sending you all my love. I highly recommend copperstones bridal in Liverpool. They had a huge range of sizes (including plus sizes) they were ridiculously positive and supportive. They also only get involved in the dressing when they are doing up the backs of the dress. It was a great experience and I also had a lovely dress from them (with sleeves!)

propananol is good for short term relief for anxiety attacks and to prevent them coming on. Glad they are helpful for you Louise! Also you saying I could do with a sesh immediately made me think of young 20s saying you'll have a drinking sesh with friends lol! Obviously a therapy sesh is a lot healthier and more beneficial than a booze up haha
I have friends that also swear by getting some underwear that you feel confident in, doing your hair and makeup and even getting a spray tan! Go in feeling your best self and maybe have a look before at what the stores stock so that you know theres at least some dresses with sleeves that you want to try on xx

On the wedding dress front, I felt exactly the same about having to be clipped into a size 8 sample that was going to make me feel rubbish. I found a store called Bridal Reloved Middlewich (they have multiple across the country in different areas) which the aim of the brand is to take hardly worn/ex sample wedding gowns of all sizes and sell them again at a discount rate. The dresses are stunning! They had all sizes in the shop I went to from size 4/6-24/26. It feels such an inclusive environment with no judgement and to actually try on dresses that fit after putting on a lot of weight over the past 5 years, it made me feel incredible! I wholeheartedly recommend in comparison to the boutiques which only have samples in. Also can’t wait to see your wedding videos as a July bride of this year 🥰 xx

Loved this video! I worked in a bridal boutique for a few years… I completely know how you feel with feeling a little uncomfortable, my main advice would be to put your foot down with your stylist. Maybe go in with some inspiration pics to give the stylist an idea of your wedding vision, be open to their ideas but if you don’t feel comfortable in something behind the curtain, tell them you don’t want to waste time in that dress as it’s not for you and would like to try on the next one. In regards to sleeves, bridal shops can usually create you a sleeve to give you a vision.. ask to create the sleeve behind the curtain before you see yourself, explain that it’s a non negotiable and that you want to have that wow feeling the first time you see YOUR dress and don’t think you’ll get that with seeing it without the additions already added. If you feel a little nervous being straight with them, take a guest who will be your voice 😅 I wish I could sit and give you all my bridal tips like I do my friends before they go and try on dresses but I don’t think UA-cam will allow a comment that big 😂 Good luck with your search ❤❤
Totally know what you mean about talking about anxiety and panic attacks. There's a difference between feeling anxious and wanting to leave a situation out of flight mode versus actually having an attack which is uncontrollable. And there's also a difference between feeling anxiety, having situational anxiety and having an anxiety disorder lol

Hi Louise I’m just commenting on here as I’m unable to on tiktok. I watched your video of your craft desk tour and you were asking for hacks of how to get stickers off your plastic drawers. I recommend using a hair dryer to heat up the sticker as it heats up and melts the glue and then you can peel them off really easily. Then use a little bit of elbow grease or washing up liquid on a damp sponge to wipe away any sticky residue that should work well. I do this all the time when taking labels off presents for people and it works every time. I hope this helps
i felt exactly how you felt regards to wedding dress shopping. i found a dress maker on Esty and had a few dresses saved and then i just had one dress saved and after months of thinking about it i bit the bullet. I ordered the dress custom to my measurements, it was scary ordering my dress online but i knew i loved the dress i had a seamstress take my measurement's and she will be doing a few adjustments for me and i made sure it was a corset back so its giving size wise if needed. it came, my two closest friends came round to help me in it and its perfect and a lovely thing to share with them and i didn't have to go through the process of dress shopping i was dreading
You need to go to Hatfield house!!! Amazing dressses, no cringey stage, no one else there except one lady who is absolutely body positive and a curvy lady herself, dresses with sleeves in abundance! Get yourself there kiddo xxx

Hey Louise, I have a VERY similar body shape to you. I found a dress I loved, but didn't try it on, just got it in a general size I knew was close to my size - I had a seamstress come to my house, take the zipper out, and put a corset in the back (corsets are more forgiving since you can tighten it or loosen it as you need). Then I bought sleeves to wear under my dress, that I had the seamstress hem to my elbows. This worked perfectly for me and I didn't need to go to a bridal shop and cry (which I knew I would have) over all the dresses that wouldn't fit or for how embarrassed I was with my body...

Love the wedding notebook! I got a wedding planner book from Amazon when we were organising our wedding. It really helped to lower my stress levels - getting it out of my brain and on to the page!! Here for 2024 being the year of joy 🎉 x

I quite often get videos like ‘things I’d NEVER dress my child in’ etc and they are made out to be opinion and for a laugh but I don’t understand the need to make videos being judging clothing made for literal children. Hey Louise, with wedding dress shopping see if you can find a boutique that focuses on body positivity! I went to a shop in Minehead in Somerset and it was the BEST experience (too far for you I know). They ;let you get into the dress yourself, once you are comfortable they come in and do you up! They also had a massive range of sizes, think they did up to 42. But it was so nice to be in a dress that was nearer my size rather than one I had to fit into. There are boutiques out there, do your research :)

My best advice on the dress thing is to have a friend who can make it for you - that is what I did 🤭 I would never feel comfortable in any of those shops, so I was so happy when my friend said yes to redesigning my moms old dress, and then I just went to her house for all the tryings! ❤ But I get if that might not be an option...

99 glitter points 💃🏼💋💅🏼 So many great points in this video and I would love to sit down and chat with you about all of them!! The new TikTok vids have gone a bit far, I’ve seen teens making fun of anyone older than them wearing ankle boots, skinny jeans, using older slang etc. I think there’s a difference between being funny and lowkey bullying. I think it’s great that you are doing talks in school because it’s so big in children’s lives now for the first time ever and most parents don’t know how to handle it. You could even make a whole video on this for parents. I’m SO excited that you are planning your wedding! Also very happy to hear you got a wedding planner. Takes so much stress away (from what I’ve heard). As much as I would love to see some wedding dress shopping vids, do what’s comfortable for you. Bring people that make you feel like the best version of yourself and remember that so many people relate to you in this area. YAY to this year being JOYFUL!! I’m lucky to have been on this journey with you and I think this is the year to live it up. For me the year has been off to a not so great start. I can’t find a job in the town my bf lives, we are trying to find a place together but it’s hard in resort towns here in Canada. His visa for Canada ends in November and I’m not sure if I want to go with him and settle across the world in Australia, but I’m also scared il never find anyone like him. It’s been a year and a half and I don’t want to let him go. I have a half finished uni degree and I’m pretty lost on what I want to do next. I’m currently living at home with my parents and it’s agony. I’m thinking of writing a book on solo female travel this year, as I’ve done quite a bit of it and am always getting questions. I’m not sure anyone would be interested or if I could even get it published though. Anyway, hopefully things will look up soon! Until then, I have your videos to keep my afloat :)

On the wedding dress front, I felt exactly the same about having to be clipped into a size 8 sample that was going to make me feel rubbish. I found a store called Bridal Reloved Middlewich (they have multiple across the country in different areas) which the aim of the brand is to take hardly worn/ex sample wedding gowns of all sizes and sell them again at a discount rate. The dresses are stunning! They had all sizes in the shop I went to from size 4/6-24/26. It feels such an inclusive environment with no judgement and to actually try on dresses that fit after putting on a lot of weight over the past 5 years, it made me feel incredible! I wholeheartedly recommend in comparison to the boutiques which only have samples in. Also can’t wait to see your wedding videos as a July bride of this year 🥰 xx

I worked in a bridal boutique for a few years… I completely know how you feel with feeling a little uncomfortable, my main advice would be to put your foot down with your stylist.
Maybe go in with some inspiration pics to give the stylist an idea of your wedding vision, be open to their ideas but if you don’t feel comfortable in something behind the curtain, tell them you don’t want to waste time in that dress as it’s not for you and would like to try on the next one.
In regards to sleeves, bridal shops can usually create you a sleeve to give you a vision.. ask to create the sleeve behind the curtain before you see yourself, explain that it’s a non negotiable and that you want to have that wow feeling the first time you see YOUR dress and don’t think you’ll get that with seeing it without the additions already added. If you feel a little nervous being straight with them, take a guest who will be your voice 😅
I wish I could sit and give you all my bridal tips like I do my friends before they go and try on dresses but I don’t think UA-cam will allow a comment that big 😂

Totally know what you mean about talking about anxiety and panic attacks. There's a difference between feeling anxious and wanting to leave a situation out of flight mode versus actually having an attack which is uncontrollable. And there's also a difference between feeling anxiety, having situational anxiety and having an anxiety disorder lol

Louise I 100% feel the same about wedding dresses!! HOWEVER!! ON 28TH Jan I visited a Wed2be shop in Bristol! And the experience was excellent! And I found my perfect dress so quickly!!

Oh my gosh, I so recognise the running into the field of flowers analogy, the ABSOLUTE joie de vivre of it all. That’s absolutely how it felt!! I remember those early days as almost like permanent summer, which I know is not only literally impossible but also a complete misremembering. There’s something quite nice, I think, about walking into TikTok with Grandmother Willow energy, that feels precisely the opposite of the teasing a generation below. Crack on!

Hi Louise I’m just commenting on here as I’m unable to on tiktok. I watched your video of your craft desk tour and you were asking for hacks of how to get stickers off your plastic drawers. I recommend using a hair dryer to heat up the sticker as it heats up and melts the glue and then you can peel them off really easily. Then use a little bit of elbow grease or washing up liquid on a damp sponge to wipe away any sticky residue that should work well. I do this all the time when taking labels off presents for people and it works every time. I hope this helps

i found a dress maker on Esty and had a few dresses saved and then i just had one dress saved and after months of thinking about it i bit the bullet.
I ordered the dress custom to my measurements, it was scary ordering my dress online but i knew i loved the dress i had a seamstress take my measurement's and she will be doing a few adjustments for me and i made sure it was a corset back so its giving size wise if needed.
it came, my two closest friends came round to help me in it and its perfect and a lovely thing to share with them and i didn't have to go through the process of dress shopping i was dreading

Hey Louise, I have a VERY similar body shape to you. I found a dress I loved, but didn't try it on, just got it in a general size I knew was close to my size - I had a seamstress come to my house, take the zipper out, and put a corset in the back (corsets are more forgiving since you can tighten it or loosen it as you need). Then I bought sleeves to wear under my dress, that I had the seamstress hem to my elbows. This worked perfectly for me and I didn't need to go to a bridal shop and cry (which I knew I would have) over all the dresses that wouldn't fit or for how embarrassed I was with my body...

Love the wedding notebook! I got a wedding planner book from Amazon when we were organising our wedding. It really helped to lower my stress levels - getting it out of my brain and on to the page!! Here for 2024 being the year of joy 🎉 x
I agree about tiktok louise. I quite often get videos like ‘things I’d NEVER dress my child in’ etc and they are made out to be opinion and for a laugh but I don’t understand the need to make videos being judging clothing made for literal children. Like your child needs to be part of your aesthetic. So so odd.

Hey Louise, with wedding dress shopping see if you can find a boutique that focuses on body positivity! I went to a shop in Minehead in Somerset and it was the BEST experience (too far for you I know). They ;let you get into the dress yourself, once you are comfortable they come in and do you up! They also had a massive range of sizes, think they did up to 42. But it was so nice to be in a dress that was nearer my size rather than one I had to fit into. There are boutiques out there, do your research :)

I would highly recommend online shopping for wedding dresses too, I know it’s not quite the same experience but there are a fair amount of online shops that have gorgeous wedding dresses too, like Needle & Thread for example.

My best advice on the dress thing is to have a friend who can make it for you - that is what I did 🤭 I would never feel comfortable in any of those shops, so I was so happy when my friend said yes to redesigning my moms old dress, and then I just went to her house for all the tryings! ❤ But I get if that might not be an option...

I’d recommend custom creating your dress. Let them brainstorm with you and when you get to trying on, it’ll be at least in the ballpark of what you’ll feel comfortable in. ❤

The new TikTok vids have gone a bit far, I’ve seen teens making fun of anyone older than them wearing ankle boots, skinny jeans, using older slang etc. I think there’s a difference between being funny and lowkey bullying.
I think it’s great that you are doing talks in school because it’s so big in children’s lives now for the first time ever and most parents don’t know how to handle it. You could even make a whole video on this for parents.
I’m SO excited that you are planning your wedding! Also very happy to hear you got a wedding planner. Takes so much stress away (from what I’ve heard). As much as I would love to see some wedding dress shopping vids, do what’s comfortable for you. Bring people that make you feel like the best version of yourself and remember that so many people relate to you in this area.

For me the year has been off to a not so great start. I can’t find a job in the town my bf lives, we are trying to find a place together but it’s hard in resort towns here in Canada. His visa for Canada ends in November and I’m not sure if I want to go with him and settle across the world in Australia, but I’m also scared il never find anyone like him. It’s been a year and a half and I don’t want to let him go. I have a half finished uni degree and I’m pretty lost on what I want to do next. I’m currently living at home with my parents and it’s agony. I’m thinking of writing a book on solo female travel this year, as I’ve done quite a bit of it and am always getting questions. I’m not sure anyone would be interested or if I could even get it published though. Anyway, hopefully things will look up soon! Until then, I have your videos to keep my afloat :)
