I revisited this game for the first time since launch, to prepare for Phantom Liberty. Turns out they added a cool new pet to the game, back in Patch 1.5 ^_^
You need to get the Iguana Egg from Yorinobu's penthouse during 'The Heist' story mission (make sure you don't have the perk that auto-scraps junk items or it seems to bin it). I believe it's only on new gen consoles and PC. If you have Cyber Engine Tweaks on PC, you can easily add it via console command 'Game.AddToInventory("Items.q005_iguana_egg",1)' but you then need to wait ~90 days for it to hatch.
