What spark plug did you purchase exactly. Also have you noticed any issues with your sensitive appliances. TV’s, computers etc. Is it safer to use a surge protector when using open frame generators vs inverter style?
Hi. what type of receptacle is that bolted to the wall? Nema 50? Four prong? Is there a lable or number on it? Does the cord have an ID on that end? It loods very heavy duty. Cheers!
13,000 Watts?!?!? Holy crap in such a small generator? Edit: Be advised some insurance company's and power companies do not allow interlock switches. Obviously since a professional did your install (assuming you had to get permits) you're most likely good but just wanted to mention that for others. Always check local state and city ordinances. I love that you're using propane, it stores long term the best.
That 20lb propane tank isn't going to last long. I have a 120 "gallon" tank (a 20lb tank has about 4.6 gallons), and I'm told I need a 500 "gallon" tank for a 22kw generator. It has to do with the evaporative area of the liquid propane more than "quantity" of propane. Especially at lower temperatures. However, off the top of my head, I recall numbers that the 22kv generator burns 350,000btu per hour and propane provides like 90,000btu per gallon. So, like 4.5 gallons an hour. I'll look further into it as I get more serious. Those are probably numbers at full bore. There's likely some info that came with your generator about this. I'm trying to justify doing anything. My house is new to me and all electric geothermal. The only thing propane runs is my stove.
👏 Great explanation of your portable power Duromax13000 HX. Looking to order a 13000 soon.
Hope you enjoy it!
