  • “Hey everyone, it's Rosalind Booker, your trusted real estate professional, coming to you with a quick but important update about a crucial home upgrade we made this year. During the May 2024 storms-our neighborhood lost power. That experience made us realize how essential it is to have a reliable backup plan for your home.
That’s why we decided to install the DuroMax XP12000EH Generator, which runs on both gas and propane. It gives us 12,000 watts of backup power, ensuring that we never experience another outage like that again.
Now, let me share some of the benefits of installing a home generator like this one:
    1. **Reliability**: Whether it’s extreme weather, utility issues, or unexpected blackouts, you’re always covered. Your family stays comfortable, your food stays fresh, and you avoid costly interruptions.
    2. **Dual Fuel Flexibility**: The DuroMax allows you to choose between gas or propane, which makes it more efficient and adaptable depending on the situation.
    3. **Peace of Mind**: With automatic power backup, you don’t have to stress about outages when you’re away from home or during storms. You can relax knowing your essentials are always powered.
If you're considering improving your home's resilience, I highly recommend looking into backup generators. Having one of these empowers you to stay in control of your home and your safety, no matter what nature throws at you.

Yeah I would love that setup but here in Texas that’s illegal without a interlock

Thats a main lug panel, there is no way to ensure that the utility main is off before the generator feeds the panel. Also, a connector is still required even though the stud is next to the panel.

You really should have a physical block to ensure no power can be back fed to the grid. Someone could easily flip that main breaker back on and cause the death of a lineman.

No need with a small generator but he DEFINITELY needs an interlock. A soft start for his AC would help too so he can use it.
