I'm a Colorado native, my family moved to the Territory of Colorado in 1859, we have a beautiful state. I was born in Colorado Springs, and love to see the tourists every year. Their friendly comments about how beautiful the state helps me not take it for granted. Here is a fun activity to try on the way to the summit of Pikes Peak, stop at Devil's Playground, which is an excellent viewing area if you come to watch the Pikes Peak Hillclimb (America's second oldest automotive road race behind Indy), take out a propane camp stove and boil water in a pot. Bring the water to a rolling boil, then put a thermometer in it. The water temperature will be luke warm. You can stick your finger in it. The open air at 14,000 feet allows most of the oxygen in the water to escape in the steam and when it comes to a rolling boil becomes cooler than when it first started to percolate. Also at altitude, if you have to go to the bathroom, walk don't run to the bathroom. Have been to the Hillclimb many times, and have witnessed drunk people run to the porta-potty, only to fall out the door backwards while still peeing because passed out due to a lack of oxygen.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful state with newcomers like myself (Pennsylvania raised). Its like paradise, in my eyes. My wife's too! We bring rubbish bags on our hikes to try to give back and keep it clean, but seeing trash on the trails is rare. It seems like people here respect the land and it's natural beauty.

The whole “300 days of sunshine” slogan is a bit of a stretch. It was proven to be false. The 300 number includes any day the sun even comes out for a few minutes. Even if it’s cloudy for most of the day. In reality there are more like 220 sunny days a year in Colorado. Still a good amount.

Hope you got to try those amazing donuts, in the restaurant, on top of Pikes Peak, they are legendary. Plus, you cannot miss visiting the USAFA, and seeing the chapel, it's the number one man-made tourist spot in Colorado.
Colorado Springs is really beautiful....I am from Denver, visited one of the National Natural Landmarks of US, The Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs - must see spectacular natural wonder....
The Royal Gorge bridge used to be the highest suspension bridge in the world, but it has lost that title. It is still the highest suspension bridge in the United States though. That was the third Antlers Hotel built on the spot, the first two burned to the ground. In 1893 Kathy Lee Bates went to the summit of Pikes Peak and was inspired to write the first draft of a poem that would become the song "America The Beautiful."
next time head east...thete are awsome places just east of the springs like the paint mines and dirt track racing! there are also beautiful places like teryall resavoire and 11mile resavoire, Gunnison black canyon park ect.
This video is everything. My family and I will be visiting COS in July 2019. I’m glad you mentioned altitudes and showed off really cool site seeing for all ages. Thanks for getting us hyped for COS!
I cannot stress enough how important it is to drink water. Like drink more than you think you should and bring a bottle with you wherever you go. If you start to feel nauseous or get a headache you need to start downing some H2O immediately or else you will feel horrible. Even if you are from a warm/hot climate the altitude and sun will dry you out very quickly
Also, a few places off this list you want to go is cave of the winds, Manitou springs, Cripple Creek, make sure you take the drive out to woodland Park and if you feel the need to go to a movie, go to Tinseltown Theater. Good luck.
When you come here be sure to apply plenty of sunscreen regularly. There isn't as much atmosphere to filter out the harsh UV at this altitude. I went fishing with a friend from Texas who is black and he thought he would be fine without sunscreen since he had never had a sunburn before. He ended up with a case of sun poisoning, which includes severe sunburn that blisters along with headaches, fever and nausea. He was miserable for a couple of weeks and ended up with scarring on his arms. Also, a nice pair of polarized sunglasses and a wide brimmed hat will help to keep your eyes comfortable and protected from the glare from the sunlight. And, as Nick Long said, be sure to drink plenty of water. The humidity levels here are so low that, combined with the thin air due to the altitude, the air will literally draw moisture out of your skin even if you aren't actively exerting yourself. A couple places you might want to add to your itinerary that weren't shown in the video are: the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the Air Force Academy, and Cave of the Winds. I hope you have a great trip! :-)
Colorado Springs is beautiful. There are issues (e.g. a large population of homeless people, drug addicts) but it depends on where you live. If you don’t live in a nice area, well that’s what’s gonna happen, just like any other city. I live up North, and the view from here is the best. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world, especially since they’ve started expanding up here.
Any major city has more homeless then Springs. You think it's bad here then got to Denver where Park street is filled with homeless people or how you can buy any hardcore drugs on Broadway.
The incline and Manitou Springs are probably the most popular in Colorado Springs next to Garden of the Gods. Almost EVERYONE has done that dang incline lol.

There’s a lot of other cool parts of Colorado Springs not mentioned in this video too. Lots of cool trails and sights to see. I like Colorado and I used to live in the obvious cities but I never knew much about Colorado Springs. Now I kinda want to go. I wonder if it smells like weed as Denver does or what about traffic.
Maniac Psycho haha it does not smell like weed, but the traffic does kinda suck. Not as bad as Denver, but it has gotten worse, you’ll hear locals complain and attribute the problem to Californians moving here.
A great place just outside Colorado Springs in the mountains is cripple creek. If you plan to move to the area check out the mountain towns less expensive and more bang for your buck.
If ya want to go somewhere warm in Colorado go to Pueblo but it’s still mostly sunny and it has storms and rains not much tho if you wanna play in the snow go to walsenbrug see? Easy peasy plus there was lots of dinosaurs in colorado

Glad we moved away.
This video is giving me life!
You’re from Missouri? That’s where I live. I am moving to Colorado Springs in a few months and I can’t wait to escape the humidity
Great video.mate
I like Colorado and I used to live in the obvious cities but I never knew much about Colorado Springs. Now I kinda want to go. I wonder if it smells like weed as Denver does or what about traffic.
Maniac Psycho haha it does not smell like weed, but the traffic does kinda suck. Not as bad as Denver, but it has gotten worse, you’ll hear locals complain and attribute the problem to Californians moving here.
A great place just outside Colorado Springs in the mountains is cripple creek. If you plan to move to the area check out the mountain towns less expensive and more bang for your buck.
How were you able to avoid the potholes the size of moon craters in the roads??? 🤣🤣🤣 Great video tho👌💯
My city!!! 🙌
I've lived here for 3 years now and plan on staying for good.
come back in winter!!
