Thank you for the information. It definitely is in decent shape. I had absolutely no clue as to when Dundee produced lighters, lol. Makes it older than I originally thought. 🙂
Generally speaking most of the old school "2L-5N" or 2 letter-5 number phone numbers would have been phased out by the mid 60's. Even all number calling plans and area codes were seeing widespread implementation by the late 60's. Because of this I'd estimate the lighter to be at least five years older than 1970. That's just a guess though. At least in the case of Zippo lighters, I've seen old 2L-5N numbers as recently as 1970 or even 1974, but it's possible that in smaller rural areas where lighters were distributed, people would still know what the old style codes were anyway, so it probably wouldn't be as big of a deal compared to some large metropolis where a small business would get lost in the shuffle.
Thank you very much for the information. I'll definitely have to check into it and see when the numbers changed in Upper Michigan in the area of Ishpeming. If it's older than 1970, that would be pretty cool 😎. I haven't been able to find any decent info on the company that makes these Dundee lighters.
Nice lighter, thanks for sharing
Thank you
Very nice Lighter
Dundee pipe lighters were made in the 1950s and 1960s.
