I have been playing for such a long time, but I recently put the game down and haven't touched it in a month I understand a dry spell but I just wish they would add an anti cheat or at least address the problem with hackers ruining HG and even open world
these tall tales are amazing and fun and a great new standard for tall tales going forward but they really feel like they are almost "ruined" by playing with a crew. Easy for people to miss things someone else is doing or people just stuck standing doing nothing while one person does everything and by looking at the video of insult sword fighting one person is doing the "fighting" while the other two are just standing there watching. No group mechanics or encounters in the first tall tale the final confrontation is really the only group event in the tall tale.
I ended a lifelong friendship over the first tall tale. Dude was running around collecting all the pieces o’ eight as soon as he heard one person say something about it and finished getting the shipment out of the water, before I could even finish talking to everyone in the tavern. He thought he’d solved everything and was ready to proceed to the manor, while I was still talking to some of the other npc’s on the island (which he hadn’t), but our paces couldn’t have been more of a mismatch, for that content. Our whole personal beef that stemmed from that aside, tall tale one should really be done solo. There’s a lot to take in.
The tall tales are a life line for the game right now they need more content stuff to actually dp I know I sound a lot like the admiral but it because I agree with him.
When he mentioned more content coming out each month, my thought was that meant they were delaying some of the content of S10 to come out more gradually instead of all on launch day. But I hope I am wrong.
I haven’t played much after this recent season hardly grinded it and I personally don’t care much for the tails don’t get me wrong I love the game and I mean no means of trash talking I like the open sea aspect and all the call stuff to do but let’s face it we all want a new ship to fly around on the seas so hear me out there’s a man o war ship to clear out and use for personal use (if you can handle it going to need more then 4 members to run it effectively) or if in a alliance once it sinks like a world event you wait X amount of time for a new one to spawn and try again before someone else gets it OR use them for the PVP factions crew size of idk 6 maybe I’m not really sure I’m just spit balling ideas
I will only be back if Flameheart gets an insane amount of love by rare but I doubt we'll see a glorious return of Flameheart at this point.. Rare focuses now on cringy streamers and online participation
As someone who doesnt care for tall tales, Rare putting all their eggs thus far in 2023 into this has been a massive let down. Season 9 was interesting for about a month.
I'm so fucking tired of rares shit -_- I'm so tired of getting promised shit that they can't deliver ... they said that 2023 was gunna be the biggest year yet ... it is quite literally end August and it's frustrating as shit to wait a year for 1 big update ... just to do the tall tale once and never go there again
So "System Based Content" would be stuff like Emissary Flags, Hourglass PVP, World Events, etc. things happening in the Sandbox that can either be toggled by the players or just kind of happens. To translate from developer speak "we're going to stop adding brand new stuff for a while and focus on expanding what we have to be the best it can". So instead of say adding another new PVP mode, they're going to focus on expanding and adding stuff to Hourglass PVP. Or instead of adding another rep system, they're going to focus on expanding how reputations and emissaries add to the experience, etc.
@@DuskEalain You're partially right... World events are not systems. Systems are things like captaincy, diving, Season 9. Things that aren't actual NEW content but reworks of old content. New of the same. We've not had proper content since Season 6. This added Sea Forts and the Legend Of The Veil which was permanent new content and experiences compared to captaincy which was stat tracking, Season 8 was PvP (not a new concept), and Season 9 was a rebalance update.

Make actual content that will last! Don't remove quick swap! Add arena back! Nerf sword spamming! Don't make aiming easier (its already really easy) don't let the game die!
Quick swap is dumb as hell, blunderbuss is OP, sword does 25 per hit lol😂c'mon now... "The only weapon that requires 3-4 hits needs to be nerfed"..."let me two tap people for 100-170 damage"...
New content each month, sounds like they are going to split the update into chunks instead of giving it to us in one update, or they need even more time for some of it. I have no idea what system based content is so I have no idea if I should be happy or sad.
Systems are not ACTUAL content. Systems are things like Captaincy, Diving, and Season 9. We've not had actual content since Season 6 (an argument could be made for LoMI).
Rare needed to polish the systems quite a bit before releasing new stuff. They had so much glitchy garbage and odd design that it needed the last few updates so it could move forward without extra baggage. I’m incredibly excited if they can actually follow through on these plans.
@@philosotree5876 meaning if they all do the bare minimum each update by reskinning content already in the game, adding pirate emporium (which has almost more cosmetics than every cosmetic shop in the game combined), and actually communicated with players about whats coming, maybe this game wouldnt be in the spot it is now. This is what happens when you push off anticheat, glitches, and actual content for months. Insider build proves all of this. Season 10 has NOTHING
before seasons, the monthly updates were amazing, as they constantly made the game interesting and added new content for you to engage with before next month. also there weren’t any update delays

So Rare should not put their guard down and slack off when it comes to fixing the game as it sits now. Gotta bring in new players. That also why I guess they release stuff like this new Tall Tale instead of fixing what we're asking them to fix. It's to attract new players...
I never said they're putting their guard down because of course they're not, and they're constantly fixing stuff it just takes a while to do all of it because the moment one issue is solved, more pop up. I also don't agree that Monkey Island was to attract new players because no one cares about it except for a small number of people.@@caspix
Do you think we'll be able to buy the ghost ship as a reward? when we first got the teaser of monkey island the ghost ship had one mast, now it has all of its masts with sails up... Sounds promising for a ghost ship hull??

They should make it so you can zip line on your ships harpoon
And add the ability to flood the water pump past full and sink a ship like that.
I hope that ghost pirates would randomly appear on Melee island to challenge you like a random pokemon encounter

It’s not inherently bad, but Rare can’t seem to develop it. Just look at the last year if you’re confused.

eh nobody was playing arena so unless they rewamp it its gonna end up the same. and removing quick swap sucks gonna make double gunning way less fun.
If the sword gets nerfed and quick swap didn’t get nerfed either, that would be unfair for sword pirates and would make it pointless to use a sword

I don't understand any of what is proposed. What is system based content? And as a solo player, the idea of more social interactions worry me.
New content each month, sounds like they are going to split the update into chunks instead of giving it to us in one update, or they need even more time for some of it. I have no idea what system based content is so I have no idea if I should be happy or sad.

as an insider, so far the new content looks like a nice addition, don't get too excited though.
