Well I liked that the T80 was a good intro for me, because if you've. never used a wheel before, the force feedback on the more professional wheels can be overwhelming. If you think you'd like to start with a professional wheel though and just spend time getting used to it, I'd suggest the Logitech G29 or the Logitech G923.
I did actually see recently that the G29 wheel has dropped down to $200 here as well. Good deal! I doubt the T80 Ferrari edition would be better for F1 but I haven't tried it myself. If the Ferrari edition is very similar to the regular T80, then you definitely aren't getting any force feedback :(
Why are the T80's Pedals on that black smooth mat but the G29's on the carpet? Isn't that why the pedals of the T80 move so much and the ones from the G29 don't?
the T80 pedals slip around even more on carpet. I had put the mat there to try and keep it in place, but they still won't stay. They're just too light.

Great video for anyone just starting out or considering getting into sim racing, I'm sure it's helped a lot of people so far. T-80 is the best low budget wheel for sure, especially if you're not sure that sim racing is your thing. You can still have a lot of fun, for the money you'll spend. If either sim racing isn't for you or you want to upgrade, you can always sell it in the used market. If you want start in mid-budget, with force feedback, then the G29 starts to run into some competition and you'd be best to watch comparison videos, of wheels in its category.

It will be a better experience in terms of you actually maneuvering a wheel and actually braking with pedals. Doesn't necessarily mean your online racing will get better. If you want to race irl, might as well go with a wheel and pedals setup.
The T80 definitely has some issues with controller drift after use. I got pretty bad drift to the left after a couple of weeks and it seems to be a common manufacturing problem with it.

Thrustmaster t80 isn't force feedback and only has 240 degrees of rotation compared to the g29 which has 900 and dual motor geared force feedback. Whoever said the ffb is jerry is wrong and doesn't know what they're talking about. I have experience with both of these wheels and the g29 is arguably better. Some might say that it's too expensive , but it is definitely one of the cheapest ffb wheels on the market right now. The t80 features a bungee cord system that tries to replicate the force of turning, which, well, it does terribly the pedals are plastic and flimsy and if you press too hard you might snap the plastic. The g29s pedals have metal plates and the extra spike grip feature for people who use it on carpets.
Useful review, was considering the T80 until I saw how little rotation it has compared to a real car. That's completely put me off otherwise I would have gone with it so I'll probably stick with the PS4 controller for now.
Actually. Does anyone know of any wheels in a similar price range with the T80 which have 1080 degree of rotation. Or do those start at £150 and above.

I was thinking of getting the T80 as a first wheel until I heard it had no force feedback, its pretty much the only thing that allows me to drive ok on a pad, let alone a wheel.
look up the Thrustmaster T80 Ferrari 488 GTB Edition. It does have force feedback for almost the same price. For me the normal t80 is 5 bucks more expensive.

If you used you left foot to hold it down and your right to gas AND brake you wouldn’t have an issue with the t80 pedals moving. Left foot is for clutch and to hold down the pedal set lol. Right foot it for gas and brake. I know all about the left foot brake technique, but I don’t condoned ping that. It’s a bad habit. Pce✌🏼
80 bucks for a steering wheel is pretty cheap, but for not even a full rotation, and without fbb, it's not really a wheel for sim racing... Even the t150 rs pro at 200 is cheap, and it's a great wheel.
I initially used the T80 without a pad also, but it slipped around way too much. I added the pad in hopes that it would solve the slipping problem, but it didn't. The G29 wheel doesn't need any pad. It stayed in place just fine on my carpet. With my current setup (bout a month how) I actually have the pedals screwed into a stand! Planning to do video of my current setup =)
For a usable racing wheel, $80 USD is dirt cheap. Most good racing wheels go for upwards of $150 USD. I live in Canada so I always shop on canadian versions of websites, but as far as I could tell the T80 is super cheap compared to any others that didn't look like terrible knock-offs.
I agree! $80 was a couple of years ago though. Not sure what a new T80 would cost nowadays or know if it'd work with the PS5 for GT7. What wheel are you currently using?
you can't compare a steering wheel of 90 € without force feedback which is only 120 and 120 to one which costs 350 € with the clutch the manual gearbox 900 and 900 the turning angle and the force feedback you cannot compare them
@@bluesob81 More expensive doesn't always mean that a product is better. Since, I had both steering wheels, I thought I'd share my feedback on both wheels.

I bought both, was thinking about returning my T80 before the G29 came. I don't drive irl, but I have at least had my permit. A con for the G29 for me personally is that the 900 degree turning mixed with the Force feedback always has me questioning which side of the wheel I'm grabbing and if I need to shift up, many times I shifted down because it turns out the wheel is upside down.
Thanks! I've noticed that the price has gone up since I got mine, and it's been in higher demand since the COVID pandemic =( Right now the link that I've included in my description is the best price that you can get for it online, unfortunately.
G29 and T80 are not steering wheels of the same level. T80 is just an entry level, G29 belong to a different market line. It's like to compare F1 and F3 car.
I've never tried the t80 of F1 2021. I do know the turn radius on the wheel is very limited, so that was frustrating when I used it for GTS. Did you calibrate your wheel for the game? That would help alot if you haven't already tried that. I actually need to do that again since I had to reset my whole gaming PC a couple of weeks ago :(
Lady Wanderlust I have looked online for them but didn’t see anything so I rarely use the wheel now and when I do want to use it I have to try and use a screwdriver to tighten it up.
Seriously no FFB?! The T80 is a toy for small children - or maybe only for 100% arcade games. But then I would say, keep your money and use your gamepad.
I realize that now. They're really more separate reviews on their own for gamers interested in getting a wheel and have absolutely no knowledge on wheels at all. At the time, I was like that. Had no idea what the big difference was between them and wanted to know they were.

Heel and toening, clutch kicking, and knob wielding (mind out of the gutter!) is a hella lot of fun.
Does the T80 work for pc?
I hadn't tried the T80 with PC :/
is this t80 same as the t80 Ferrari gtb edition?
Love this review.
thank you ^_^
Tip :
Take a wooden board and tape the pedals to it for added weight and stability!
Easy Peasy
LOL sounds like so much effort. I'm sure people come up with all sorts of way to get them to not move. I just didn't have the patience for it.
Great video thanks I have the t80 tos start ill get g29 later
Ty!
How do you like it?
Does anyone know if the wheel can be taken off and you can put your own quick release on
Just bought the g29 it’s coming tomorrow can’t wait and should I buy the Logitech shifter
oOoO! Excited for you! I don't have the shifter so let me know you like it, if you get it!
I love the thrustmaster t80
Glad you enjoy it!
Great review 👍🏽
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge & thoughts, Caleb. Much appreciated!
Nice reviews 🎉
The t150 is a good middle choice.
Have not tried out that wheel. Thanks for your input!
What game is that
Gran Turismo Sport
Useful review, was considering the T80 until I saw how little rotation it has compared to a real car. That's completely put me off otherwise I would have gone with it so I'll probably stick with the PS4 controller for now.
Actually. Does anyone know of any wheels in a similar price range with the T80 which have 1080 degree of rotation. Or do those start at £150 and above.
Yea, probably best not to get something unless you really want to use it. I'm planning to give my T80 to my nephew 🤗
@@bobmarley6306 you could trying looking for used wheels. Thrustmaster T300? or GT29 used even? never know what deal you might get on a used wheel if you're okay with getting a used one.
@@OmnistoriesEventCinematography At the moment I've found some decent prices for a T150 but from stores which are out of stock. I think that's what I want to go with and new would be preferred for the sake of the warranty and being sure it hasn't been messed with. Thanks for that response tho.
Bob Marley t180 force feedback and like 1080 degree turn
I was thinking of getting the T80 as a first wheel until I heard it had no force feedback, its pretty much the only thing that allows me to drive ok on a pad, let alone a wheel.
look up the Thrustmaster T80 Ferrari 488 GTB Edition. It does have force feedback for almost the same price. For me the normal t80 is 5 bucks more expensive.
At first the force feedback was overwhelming to me, but now I live off of it, so I feel ya! What game do you race on?
@@LadyWanderlust I race on primarily the f1 games, started in 2015, now on 2020 (on pc) and a bit of stuff like gran turismo, dirt 4, project cars and the NFS franchise. Still on controller now but probably going to go with the g29, since its fairly cheap down here in australia
@@LadyWanderlust For me it is Dirt 4. And I might try dirt rally 2.0 since I am getting the T80 soon. The g29 is like 350$ for me. So a little too high for a student.
@@kixed I feel ya. It is very pricey =( Haven't tried those games. Hope you end up enjoying dirt rally 2.0!
Pce✌🏼
Great solution for making the T80 work for you! =)
This is an unfair comparison 😂
Fr😂
I see you got your nice racing chair 😁👍🏼
oOo! Exciting!
Lol I just realized that I read ur comment wrong. I did! Eventually I’d like to get an actual rig 😄👍🏽
@@LadyWanderlust … haha, I was a little confused with that reply. Yes, I’d like rig as well. Maybe for Christmas from me to me - haha
nice video very informative.. but u might need to compare it with at least t150 instead of the t80
If I had a t150 to try out I would! :)
80 bucks for a steering wheel is pretty cheap, but for not even a full rotation, and without fbb, it's not really a wheel for sim racing... Even the t150 rs pro at 200 is cheap, and it's a great wheel.
i cant find a T80 anywhere near $80us, i cant find one under $200us wtf?
@@harlyquin wtf? In Greece it's 85€ now, but it's not worth more than 60
Price went up since I did my review unfortunately. Have you noticed so many products went up since COVID?
That's a great price for the wheel.
@@LadyWanderlust I mean yeah, I don't know anymore, covid has really turned everything upside down
Puts pad under T80 but not the G29 why?
@@LadyWanderlust I don't have one as of yet, just shopping around and looking at a bunch of websites
@@koolooberyded2463 Gotcha. Good luck with shopping!
Honestly for the price i like the t80
Glad to hear it! 👍🏾
such a beauty. not the steering wheels but you.
Aw, thank you!
@@LadyWanderlust and thank you for helping me to decide for the G29, too! :)
for the end setup playseat is good
Thanks for you input! I'd totally love one of those ^_^

But the TMX is better right? The TMX looks so good and cheap
I prefer using the G29. "Better" is so subject. I can only share my thoughts and experience with you. Ultimately, it's your choice =)
Get the TMX Pro if you must. Better than the G920 in my opinion
Does she work for Logitech?
I do not.
you can't compare a steering wheel of 90 € without force feedback which is only 120 and 120 to one which costs 350 € with the clutch the manual gearbox 900 and 900 the turning angle and the force feedback you cannot compare them
Of course the Logitech G29 is better than Thrustmaster T80, the T80 is too small plus no feedback. Nice video!
Ty!
She also compared a $80 wheel against a $400 wheel. Ibdont see the purpose of that myself?
@@bluesob81 More expensive doesn't always mean that a product is better. Since, I had both steering wheels, I thought I'd share my feedback on both wheels.
Thank you, all I needed it to know about the T80. I love the Logitech brand, and I need to upgrade since the one I have only works on PS2 and PS3 but not PS4. Do G29 works also for PS3? Thanks!
I've never tried it on a PS3 but I did find this review for you: "If you’re looking for a wheel for the PS3 and was considering the G29, you should probably just go with a G27. Now if you want a wheel that’s also compatible with the Playstation 4, then the G29 is the way to go." (source: www.isrtv.com/codemasters-dirt-series/logitech-g29-compatibility-on-ps3/)
@@LadyWanderlust Thanks for the replay. Yeah, so basically the G29 works on PS3 and PS4 as well then, if so I would rather buy this one than buying the "Brooks Converter" For that I need the G27 which I don't have.
Thanks for the info and if you have any old school games you should check out those "Brooks Converters" if you haven't.
Have a wonderful night!! Thanks again.
@@Lizard-of-Oz excited for you! Enjoy the g29 when you get it! 😁👍🏽
@Joymon Creations the t150 has a higher turn radius at about 1080 degrees and the t80 is 240 degrees which isn’t a lot at all
@@Lizard-of-Oz Consider a T150, works on ps3 and ps4
Can the thrust master t80 support a shifter?
Unfortunately, no.
Can you plug in a t3pa pedal in the t80? Kinda wished the pedal got the spikes similar to g29 pedals
You can't, unfortunately :(
You can use the T3PA on a PC with any wheel, as long as you have the adapter that costs around $15 on Amazon.
If you have t80 tip for the sliding get weights and put them where they slide
I have the t80 and its pretty good👍
Glad you like it! Thanks for sharing your feedback!

Can you configure it in Forza Horizon 4?
@@The_Phunto I don't have that game to try it with, but im pretty sure that you can configure the wheel for Forza Horizon

Can I use one of these on a xbox360 ?
Xbox Has separate series of wheels. Simply Google it :)
Luckily I got both😄
damn bruh send me one lmao
Cool 😎

I dont wanna hate but i gotta ask who tf drives Automatic?
I haven't in months, but I started off that way and I know some really fast sim racers do. It's preference.
The wheel is upside down? Got me confused about this.
@@LadyWanderlust like when I’m turning it, because it is 900 degrees I may have the wheel in an upside down position.
Man that sucks, I already ordered a t80 and wanted to see about it, my biggest drawback is that it doesn’t do a full 360😭
yea, it's a bummer :(
Can it work on Xbox one x
I believe the Thrustmaster can. As for the Logitech G29, I heard that the XBOX equivalent is the Logitech G920
OK tnks
Nice video!Lady is best racer on the racing simulators)

I'm interested in buying the t80 you have
Where are you located?
Do not buy that shit
Dont buy it

@No no I had 2 t80s both crap i got a t300 and t150 both great
G29 and T80 are not steering wheels of the same level. T80 is just an entry level, G29 belong to a different market line. It's like to compare F1 and F3 car.
i just got the t80 (second hand) for f1 2021 and its shit house, does anyone else think the same cause as of now I'm way quicker on controller.
I've never tried the t80 of F1 2021. I do know the turn radius on the wheel is very limited, so that was frustrating when I used it for GTS. Did you calibrate your wheel for the game? That would help alot if you haven't already tried that. I actually need to do that again since I had to reset my whole gaming PC a couple of weeks ago :(
@@LadyWanderlust yea i have. all good thank you

Sì, sono totalmente d'accordo
Yeah after a month of using my ThrustmasterT80 the clamp snapped and now I can’t tighten it
sorry to hear that your clamp snapped! :( Hope you can get it replaced?
Lady Wanderlust I have looked online for them but didn’t see anything so I rarely use the wheel now and when I do want to use it I have to try and use a screwdriver to tighten it up.
how do you find yours? do you like it?
Whydo you lean over your wheel like that?
bad habit =( feel like i have more control.

Nice one but i love the t300 rs so good for me and the fanatec omg even better i don't own one but used it before omg
how are you going to compare a $400 wheel with a $200 one? kinda pointless
Seriously no FFB?! The T80 is a toy for small children - or maybe only for 100% arcade games. But then I would say, keep your money and use your gamepad.
👍
=)
Can I use thrustmaster TMX force feed back for gta v xbox one console
I don't have any of those products. Hopefully someone who sees your question may have an answer for you.
no, you can’t
Thats two very defrint wheels the thrustmaster is a beginers wheel so its no that fair to compare these two itemes
I realize that now. They're really more separate reviews on their own for gamers interested in getting a wheel and have absolutely no knowledge on wheels at all. At the time, I was like that. Had no idea what the big difference was between them and wanted to know they were.
