- Shady has is being worked in a new equine sport, He has been an American Standardbred race horse. In this video he is trained for trail, and and possibly the show horse. He has a big heart, big motor but is sweet as they come "Big, Bold and Fst.. would describe him perfectly . He is truly enjoying learning new things.

lucy tyler geck, You are correct that this horse is racking. However, it is not taught to this breed of horse. Sense all of the American Standardbred equines possess either naturally pacing or trotting gaits. The rack is the pace. Also known as the single-foot ambling gait. This gait is preferred over the trot for professional race driving competitions because it is the faster gait of the two. Which, explains why this horse is being rehabilitated from its driving career.

She doesn't look like a standerdbred when she walks she has that Tennessee walking horse walk I've ridden and stud that was a Tennessee walking horse his gait was smooth and I'm also 11 but she looks like shes part standerdbred and tenneesee walking horse
TWH is not the only gaited breed .. Standardbred pacers off the track can rack as nicely as any TWH. Slightly different gait ..

Just Elly I had an ex-racing standardbred as a kid. The pace was uncomfortable at first but you eventually get used to it. He was a great horse and I loved him so much.
@@lunarequine7734 Accurate statement. Not like riding a TWH, where you lean back into the gait and ease on out. My Standee was a pacer with a fast, forward movement that I found very different from owning Arabians.
