I think it's a Canadian thing--descent over the runway from the opposite side, to join the downwind in the pattern. The FAA Airplane Flying Handbook and AIM have totally different pattern entry procedures.

I don't use gloves in a car or in a plane.

did not show much except the white valet gloves .I tried gloves once but found I lost sensation and they got too hot. !
