      @Chester Feltersnatch It doesn't matter if they cost 2K a set or 2K each, they should at the very least be properly finished. Flaws in a powdercoat finish is nothing short of sloppy ass prep work and it's unacceptable at any price.

      the minute he puts on the wheels, theyre going to get ruined by rocks and debry. I would understand if they had cracks or other stuff going on, but minor paint defects are normal. I bet his truck came with more paint defects than the rims and he hasnt noticed. theyre just materialistic things that are meant to get messed up over time.

      He's not that big of a UA-camr, so I don't see it hurting that much. There are much more prominent channels that promote Fuel wheels. They're on the lower end, so you can't expect the best. If you want the best then you have to shell out the money for the best.

      If only 10% of his subscriber count decided not to buy wheels that’s 14,500 people and likely buying 4 wheels @ about 200 each that’s millions in revenue. Not to mention the likelihood that he would let other people in the community know(including shop owners). Point is, that is a lot of money even if he isn’t the biggest UA-camr out there.

    I know I’m late on this video but I’d like to chime in about the company MHT. I used to work for Discount Tire Company in Houston, which is one of the leading wheel and tire distributors in the country. I frequently dealt with MHT for my customers so I could get them the wheels they wanted. And way more often than not, MHT would come up short on their end of the deal. Messed up paint, mislabeled boxes, not meeting time stamps on deliveries. It was all the time. And then that also makes the customer think that our company is the ones messing up when in reality all we are is basically a middleman. Just from seeing how many times they’ve messed up my customers wheels and orders, I personally will never order from MHT, and I will preach against them for as long as I can. Sorry that happened to you bud, you and countless other customers in the Houston area.

    For what you paid, the wheels should be perfect, that being said, the childish invoices they put on the boxes and the clear lack of giving any f*#k’s if your remotely satisfied tells me MHT/FUEL is not a company I would want to support. When I buy wheels, I will make sure they are not affiliated to MHT in any way.

    In the course of 2 years we had 2 fuel wheels crack in the center of spokes. Fuel wouldn’t replace the first one, so paid full price for a new one. Then 6 months later another one cracked. We had to find a wheel shop to raise hell and got the second one replaced after about a month long ordeal. This set was on a new F350 platinum, all highway use.

    My powder coated FF29s came in condition that made yours look perfect. Nick marks all over the lips, bubbles and pits galore... I sent them back a total of 4 times before they told me "these wheels conform to our standards and we have had more then one people look at them they are perfect and there is nothing we can do for you" they fought my CC claim when I filed one with Amex and shipped the wheels back to me and made me eat almost 8k. It cost me another 2.8k to get them stripped and redone right. Fuel scammed the shit out of me. They forced me to accept the wheels and fought the claim and i didn't accept the shipping order and they also rebilled shipping back to them, back to me, back to then and back to me .. I posted it all over Facebook with high res shots of the wheels and 10 days later got a cease and desist letter to remove the pictures and post.

    I completely understand your frustration. I have a 2011 Challenger show car and a few aftermarket items companies sell that are supposed to be bolt on, dont meet the quality and finish of even the OEM parts. I bought some one off Centerline wheels and as you know the wheels are two pc and welded together. They welded the wheels and didnt protect the polished areas from weld splatter. CL even ignored my offset instructions and welded the rear wheels with the wrong offset. I called them and told them the problem, their first comment was "Not our problem, thats what you asked for" Well eventually they took them back and remade the rear wheels. They discounted each front wheel so I can take them some where to have the buck shot removed and re-polished. 3 months to wait for the original wheels, and another month of waiting on the rears to be remade for the correct offset. I asked for their weld procedure for welding the wheels and these guys have absolutely NO Quality Control in that company. Little did they know I am a welding inspector and QC guy for a company. Props out to Lone Star Mopar Fest EDIT: I have a 2017 F250 and will not be upgrading to FUEL wheels after your issue.

    DMAXRYNO This speaks volumes about your character. I can relate, I am currently in a very similar situation with american force wheels that were just machined for me, and fully polished, wheels were then sent to one of the largest distributors in america for tires to be mounted and balanced. The Tire mounter got lube all over the wheels, and instead of cleaning the splooge off before the packaged them up, they left the tire goo all over the wheels and they shipped them out to me like that. So now I have to have my brand new wheels repolished due to the tire slime etching into the polish. this would of never happened if C/O had a decent QC before shipping out the wheels. C/O has sent me a message saying they will offer assistance to get the wheels repolished, but I am still frustrated.

    I couldn’t agree more. I’m sure these oversized and completely custom rims cost a lot of money, but I believe any good company should treat any customer with the same respect no matter if you’re spending 1000$ or 10,000. With that being said there’s no reason especially with the money you’re spending that they cannot work with you and supply the premium service that should have come with the premium price.

    I respect you being respectful about the situation and being grown up. I work in sales/customer service and you’re absolutely correct, shit happens, it’s all about how the problems are solved that makes or breaks a company. Paying $5000+ for truck accessories in a market that is very competitive, and filled with OTHER great companies, you should expect perfection, or exceptional customer service when there is a problem. I’m not much into heavily modifying my own vehicles but Fuel will never be on my radar given this situation that you are in.

    I bet if they knew 168,000 potential customers were gonna see the little "love letters" they left you on the box's they would prob have thought twice about writing them...Lol! I'm a journeyman electrician by trade. Where I'm from here in Ohio we call plumbers "turd herders". Lol!

    Do not do it!! Don’t rush it! You will regret it in a month after the build is finished! Send them bank and start over. Take them time build it like you want it.

    Shoulda ordered forces, they quoted me 8 weeks for my 24x14 gamma sf8s and I got them 3 weeks early and there were little imperfections that I let them know about, they took them back and got them fixed perfect, really professional company

    I had 4 fuel rims fail. Fractures had a wheel break off driving my ram 1500 and fuel wouldn’t even speak to me. Period. I had an entire wheel failure while moving in my truck. The rim snapped and the wheel rolled into intersection and my broken fuel rim center on ground and wheel 50 yards up the street. All 4 rims failed with fractures and had to buy rock star rims because fuel wouldn’t even speak to me.

    Came across this video while looking at some fuel wheels, decided to go a different route now. The notes left on the packages is what did it for me. Very unprofessional. And they were definitely not stripped and resprayed.

    The bumps are caused by the powder coat gun being too close to the metal, and shocked the wheel. They just need to step back.

    Idk how i feel about the video, yeah they were unprofessional but...1...it’s a truck. 2...they will stay perfect for like a week before a rock gets knocked up and does the same amount of damage or more.

    I feel your pain. I have a 3500 Denali Dually. I also have a Bulletproof suspension kit. I purchased Fuel Lethals for my Dually. Current set is 22x12’s in the front. I ordered 22x14’s almost 4 months ago and still haven’t gotten them. 4 months for 2 Wheels! Crazy! Love the videos!!🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

    A buddy of mine owns a tire shop and I showed up one day to look at Rims for my RAM. The fuel stuck out to be as the best looking and I asked him to get me some prices. He asked if I was crazy.. He said he's had nothing but issues with Fuel, even some having the lug holes not lining up. I've never had personal issues with them though like you have..

  • @christian_coulson

    Get them painted instead of powder coated . powder coating is never 100% immaculate always something wrong in the finish its a 8/10 chance that there is something wrong anyways. having them painted is 10x better imo because the finish is 9/10 better than powder coating

    i a truck driver i pick up many skids of FUEL wheels from MHT almost everyday those wheels are made in china....just saying.
    years ago i ordered wheels from discount tire direct 1 had a blemish they sent me a new wheel and a return shipping label no questions asked.

  • @dlo__3929
    @dlo__3929 6 років тому

    It happens. With so much demand there’s always going to be flaws in wheels. I bought a set of hellcat replicas from OE for my Charger and only one wheel had a blemish. Maybe it was Fedex throwing my wheels carelessly or it was them who knows.

    I believe they were stripped. With translucent colors like that if they would’ve sprayed another coat over top than it would be much darker. I believe the bubbles are due to them not cleaning the surface well after stripping and the pits are due to outgassing. I’ve been a powder coating hobbiest for more than 2 years plus I powder coated professionally for almost a year

    • @marcusfernandez2252
      @marcusfernandez2252 6 років тому +2

      I agree, I powder coat for a living and they were definitely stripped and redone. If they were shot over they would be way darker as 2 coats would darken the color drastically. Unfortunately they came out with defects this time instead of light spots, probably from moisture in the powder or some oils or imperfections in the aluminum that outgassed. The thing is good luck finding some local guys to do any better than they were done by Fuel, he should of just rocked them the way they were.

    • @KyleCaf
      @KyleCaf 5 років тому

      @@marcusfernandez2252 I also powder coat professionally and have been since 2007. There are a few defects but other than that, the translucent coat looked great. At least on camera. I didn't see any picture framing or color fade. I agree with you that local powder coasters may not be able to make the wheels look better than Fuel. I still struggle with candy coats sometimes, in regards to uniformity after all these years. Now, if that is an illusion color, it's a different story.

    No fuel wheels for me bro. Thanks for the feedback. Think your doing good with the situation. And I know a shop here does $75 a wheel to powder coat. Not near Cali but I'm sure you can find a good place to redo them somewhere. Going to be a badass build bro.

    I think fuel is one of those big companies that just puke out tons of wheels and don't have quality control or an eye for detail, which is a shame. And the fact there basically willing to pay you to go away is fucked up.

  • @brandonmoore9440

    Fuel is a budget wheel option why would get forged wheels from a budget wheel company? That is just dumb Fuel is like the company you spend around 1k on a set of wheels that look nice but are cheap and easy to replace not a company you get forged wheels from... so everyone saying how shit fuel is is also dumb they are the BUDGET option of course they are not going to be the best and if you go budget brand but forged wow that is just... It's like having a five star chef make you a bigmac in the end it's still just a bigmac if you want five star products you pay and go to five star places not budget brands that have some expensive stuff.

    I can't believe fuel did this to you...
    To charge so much for their top tiered wheels and then not to fix flaws in the paint or construction in general...
    They should have made sure the wheels were immaculate, no questions...
    That's honestly a shame..companies have no integrity these days.

    I got my chrome 20x14 hostages in 8 weeks. I wasnt building a show truck and they had some very minor blemishes but I'm with you, if they charge that much overhead, they should meet certain quality requirements. I wish I had gone with specialty forged or Forces.
