    I love that you’ve incorporated leg locks into your students BJJ and have not limited your self to the IBJJF’s rules. I would love to learn under you.

      leglocks are allowed in ibjjf though lol..white belts can anklelock in there ruleset

    It always amazes me how the higher belts always seem to do less work yet get quicker or better results. They make it look so simple, then you try it yourself and you have no idea where you went wrong

      Yeah. You can watch the progression in this video, the higher the belt, the less unnecessary movements and better results.

    My favorite part about these videos are always the roll with Roy at the end. He doesn't go all out, but he gives his students the space and ability to problem solve and demonstrate their skills effectively!

    I am always impressed by the students of Professor Roy Dean. The quality he produces is astounding. Such smooth transitions and notice how little space he leaves for them to capitalize on! Great defense, beautiful offense, and your counters man... OSS! The bar you set for your students is inspiring. Great video! Congratulations!

      I know right, teaching them should be universal its just stupid to not teach them and if the students ever do No-Gi they get demolished.

    I watch a lot of jiu jitsu videos and this one was honestly one of the best iv ever watched. Very well put together and fantastic to watch such skill demonstrated.

    that bluebelt in the beginning is amazing: aggression, combativity, technique, stamina... i am impressed. the purple belt i thought was not respecting heel hooks: cherish your cruciate ligaments my friend

      Came here to say the same thing. A white belt that is THAT good of a training partner is incredibly rare indeed. She knows exactly how she has to move and react so he can demo the technique.

    I love the filming and presentation and time taken to do this educating jiu-jitsu you tube videos. I just started with 6 blade jiu-jitsu in South Gate I am 40 years old and hope to grow old in jiu-jitsu. This video are very inspiring.

    Brilliant demonstration of flow between techniques and what comes through use of refined movement without rush from many into one. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

    I’ll admit at first glance I was a little skeptical because the uke was a teenage girl, my first thought was “of course he will be able to pull of these techniques cause he’s so much stronger then his partner”
    But damn that was some smooth jiu Jitsu. Super clean and super technical 🤙🏽

    Going for his purple but moves like a 4th stripe purple and knows his stuff almost like a brown haha. I can only pick out a few things he did different or not fully correct in his details but otherwise very impressed, he is very good and knows his stuff, Lots of leg attacks too. Some of us haven't got the benefit of learning leg attacks early in our career.

    Another great video, and that guy is smooth like his Professor. That first blue belt female was awesome. She's super spunky and it had to be hard not giving out two purple belts that day....lol. Nothing like a brown belt to show up and bring down the high from tapping a purple belt....lol.

    This is awesome... if I didn't know better I'd think they were doing the demo to music. Like there was a boombox in the dojo :) :) I swear I'm getting old.. I nearly cried when he was introduced as a purple belt at the end... tough test. But great to watch. I watch them all on Amazon too.
