I am very proud of Roy Dean, his progress within this amazing art, as well as his accomplishments around the world. He performed so well on this examination that I gave him a 95-98% score (NOTE: Most students pass my examinations with an 80-85% score. So, I could tell he had spent a considerable amount of time preparing for this examination - focusing on the things I asked him to focus on!) Great job Roy!
I've been watching Roy's videos for a while now, and I've NEVER ever seen anyone put him under so much pressure. Usually he moves like water, but under your pressure he was really working to get out of your controls. The whole time you looked like you weren't even straining either - watching this proves how infinite the art can be. Beautiful. CONGRATS to Roy Dean - well deserved, please keep sharing your knowledge and journey with us!
I dont why but seeing the master and his student battling at the end made me cry. It was beautiful to watch as the acknowledgement of mastery passed down and the acknowledgement of his master for all those years of teaching that are paying off now. Beautiful and moving video. Its a great example for us starting to learn Bjj. Thank you

I felt so emotional because , when I was a white belt I saw your 2 degree black belt test video so much , that it was my go to video before training, and that was a long time ago. It exemplifies that this art never stops. The excuses are excuses. The technique is primary. Thank you for sharing this, Professor Dean. Fantastic.
Congratulations professor Roy! Everyone who trains jiu-jitsu knows that feeling of getting cooked under someone and the mental fatigue that happens which is more of the battle that the physical exhaustion which is horrible in its own right! But Roy did amazing work looking for the Micro movements to get to better positions! You could audibly hear Roy's frustration for ending up back there. That's what it's really like. Thank you, Mr. Dean, for not being afraid to show us the reality of the struggle.
I’ve only recently started getting into watching BJJ and this video fascinated me, it really shows the levels to this sport. You sparring with the master and getting him in the choke at the end nearly brought a tear to my eye, could really see how exhausted you were and can’t imagine the overcoming feeling you must of felt. Congrats man!

What a great trial to overcome, feels like what a martial art's graduation ought to be. The student looked amazing the entire time, the master looked surreal, the economy and surety of movement was a beautiful spectacle.

I can literally feel that pressure from Master Harris. Great video. 🙏
Thank you. 🙏🏼
I’m brand new to this world so I miss the nuances, and even still I could see and feel how special and powerful this struggle is. What a powerful video, thank you for sharing so those of us not in the room could observe such a sacred event.
What a great trial to overcome, feels like what a martial art's graduation ought to be. The student looked amazing the entire time, the master looked surreal, the economy and surety of movement was a beautiful spectacle.
I just received my 4th degree... in Kenpo karate. Watching this got me interested in learning grappling, i know fairly little... wish I got into a school sooner... would like to add this to my kenpo...
A little late but, congratulations on your promotion Mr. Roy Dean. I have learned so much watching your videos and hope to meet you one day. Thanks for showing all the hard work not just from yourself but all those who surround you in the art of jiujitsu.
Much gratitude, from one practitioner to another 🥋 🙇♂️
Congratulations! Roy D. 💥 👏🏽
Congratulations! Roy H. 💥 👏🏽
Jesus Christ, the music and the vibe when it's the last sparring round. It's like Mr. Dean had to face the head BJJ Panda and it's one of the only times I've seen him pull out cardio like that.
I believe you will get tested every day in class, but man these are fun to watch. Watching Roy Harris roll is great value for money, especially on a free video! :D So much stuff to learn about how he teaches just by rolling. Congrats on the level up Roy Dean.
Been watching you since white belt. Learned a lot from your fundamentals dvd back then. This video hit different. The emotions at the end were over the roof. Absolutely love you for the sake of our creator. And thank you and pray I get to meet you some day.
Thank you. It would be a pleasure to share the mat.
I’m over here at work and I’m friggin PUMPED!!!! This was a fantastic video!!!!!!
Many know Roy Dean but the great master will always be a Big Boss without a name for me.
Love the underleg pass of Roy Harris we see at 7:52 and again at 8:24, etc. One of my favorite passes I learned from Roy. The battle at the end was truly epic.
Great job Roy and it was awesome to see you roll with Mr Harris using old school, solid and heavy Jiu Jitsu. Beautiful Congrats.
That pressure he was giving Mr. Dean was crazy. Awesome work. Very inspiring to watch. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Not one of your students but I was lucky enough to be there for your third degree test. Congratulations on attaining 4th degree! Another crucible. Kevin
very nice ! I LIKE the attitude and the demeanor of Instructor and students , very humble .
Wow - that is insane. No way you can't say this man earned every single one of those degrees! Inspirational!
The respect is unreal
I’ve been watching your videos for 10 years I’m sure at this point . Crazy to see all your tests and videos .
