Well for people not so well educated in science like us people of the modern age, Gods were for them as real as seeing the Sun, breathing the Air, bathing in Water, hearing the Thunder and Seeing the Flashes of the Thunderstorm. Doesn't matter what the people called their god or their pantheon of gods or whatever. Or, plot twist, at some point we meet some aliens, some hundreds of years in the future, who upon first contact say "Hey, we know your species, we have historic records of our forefathers creating intelligent species and life-blooming planets as a recreational activity, acting as gods and stuff and moving on, when they get bored. Glad you made it so far!" and we as a species go into an existential crisis, because we are only a computer game for the universe xD

"It gladdens me to know that Odin prepares for a feast! Soon I shall be drinking ale from curved horns. This hero that comes into Valhalla does not lament his death. I shall not enter Odin’s hall with fear. There, I shall wait for my sons to join me. And when they do, I will bask in their tales of triumph. The Aesir will welcome me. My death comes without apology. And I welcome the Valkyries to summon me home!"
The "ma father is dead" of bjorn is beautiful
Still get the chills watching back on this. This show really knew how to build up their war scenes. So much hype around them
This is one of my favourite scenes in the series.
"Cold, in the cold iron earth, Ragnar lies." Poetic.
Best episode ever. Hail to the King. May the Valkyries sing of your tales for times to come.
One of the most brilliant scenes ever made! Goosebumps every time I see it !
Bro, u know ur father was a big deal when Odin shows up in person to tell he died and when Thor sends lightning and storms
After I've seen Lagertha madness scene with Ragnar's death. I had to come again to THIS.
Ranger’s words before death just gives any one the chills, best show ever!
Oh man. background music and their expressions. A goosebumps package.
I love Vikings
Most of us do. Imagine being a scandi boy and knowing, from the age of two or three, that THESE are your forefathers...
Oh my gosh I got chills when Odin told Ivar and started going about telling them
“This is the best scene of Vikings”. I had goosebumps all over me 🔥
This still gives me goosebumps.
The way he says " Summon me home!" Gives me chills everytime
Best scene ever . Best actors. Best serie. So much Passion
Damn...the AllFather came and told them himself...
I shows that Ivar truly loved his father his anger in his voice from his scream from the loss was painful 😢
This scene is so amazing for so many reasons but the best has to be the All father Odin himself came to relay the message of Ragnars death to his sons individually. Each one with different reactions and each so powerful just so damn awesome!
Odin bitches!
Vishal Maraj fuck you bitches!!
This scene and background music every time gives me goosebumps ❤❤🔥🔥
anyone know what the song is in the background?
Definitely one of my favorite scenes of the show
This scene gets me every time... chilling. I miss Ragnar😭
So is Odin actually real in the show then? Because in the earlier seasons it seemed more like they imagined him being there as part of their belief in him, but here it seems like he actually exists
Either the devil or Odin but I think it was Odin though I’m pretty sure God and the devil are real because Aflstan visited Eckbert and Ragnar 100% from Heaven and when he was alive a demon came to him soooo idk or it could be both are real in the show idk
@@revan950 Imho, in the TV series, every deity is alive since Odin and the Christian God (and the devil, because of the demon) are directly shown. And the Seer predicted many events correct, e.g. Ragnar's Death as that he will die on the day the blind man sees. That isn't just cold reading or something.
Little bit of both I’m assuming they wanted the show to be exciting in some ways but not to the point where its full on fantasy.
@@MagiconIce that's basically the assassin's creed story summarized in a perfect way🤣
definitely one of my top 5 scenes of the series.
Wow thats so cool how Odin showed up for them in person for them and on their level as people and not towering above them, like he was better than them and i like that. Shows that he was watching over them and their family and later comforted them when the father died❤🥺
There will never be another TV show as great as "The Vikings" - the best show ever made. And it was made with a cast of complete unknowns, and the music was awesome !!! 👍🏻
Ragnars speech gives me chills everytime man
Ragnar wasn't my father but seeing Odin deliver the message made me teary eyed
That speech will give you goosebumps!
This clip gives me a goosebump
2:20 the man with one eye is Odin himself if you remember what they say. Odin gave his eye for knowledge
Watched every episode and think this is the most powerful scene in whole series.
Still get chills
The goosebumps you get while watching this beat scene coss you’ve finished the show and it brings back memories
The way how obe react gives me chill to the bone😨
What level of badass you have to be for the Father of the war gods to personally deliver sympathy and tidings to all your sons.
Goosebumps… every time I watch this
Anybody else get chills from the power of Ragnar's speech?
People really thinking Ivar needed the explanation 💀 Odin started speaking before Ivar even noticed he was there, and Ivar was the only one be directly spoke to. Also, he was literally the greatest tactician among his siblings, and clearly had the sharpest mind.
Song name is Wardruna - Algir Tognatale
Just simply amazing..get chills every time...I still miss ragnar thoo
Ragnar: wait till you hear my beauty that will unfold you
I like how they blend realism and mythology. Creates a great universe.
The most badass version of odin i have ever seen
Marvel is Laughing in the corner😂😂😂
This is goosebumps worthy even after soo many years
One of the best scenes from Vikings
It's said amongst the Norse/Germanic/pagan. Although there were many terrible things about Odin. Hospitality was a thing he heavily emphasized. Amongst this, Odin would shapeshift because he enjoyed walking amongst men. So with these things paired together people were very hospitable because A. It was a firm belief, with even rules like "the rites of hospitality" and B. You never know if Odin may be amongst you as a stranger.
..and I welcome the valkyries to summon me home!!!
the music chosen in this scene is so damn good
Vikings will be remembered 😔
i swear to god if they don't end this show with all the major characters and sons drinking with Ragnar in Valhalla... it doesn't have to be an in your face scene, but something subtle and classy enough to keep in line with the show's sparring use of mythology but enough to let us know and see that all our favourite heroes are together in Valhalla again
When Odin himself is the message bearer of your death to your children, you know the great halls have been open for you long before you die
This scene gives me goosebumps for no reason.
So many remarkably powerful phrases & scenes and this is one of them. It just imprint deeper that they are sons of ragnar.
