Family van life begins as we set sail from Harwich to the Hook of Holland with on the Stenaline ferry crossing for the start of our road trip around Europe in our van conversion. We prepare ourselves for our family gap year exploring Europe in our self build van conversion, travelling with our 3 young kids and our dog.
We are so excited for van life in Europe and making so many amazing memories as a family.

Do you get a visitor visa when entering into the UK from Holland? I am leaving the UK as my work visa has ended and need to leave to re-enter the UK on a visitor visa. Thnx for your help!

Eh, stamping your passport came about because you left the EU, brexit meant and means you have now 90 days to return to Blighty. Unless your visa says otherwise. That dreaded 90 days out of a 180...

Hopefully passport control in Holland isn't too lengthy for us. Road closures away from the port are a little worrying. I have the Google Maps' local area saved locally to my phone,just in case :)

Enjoy guys and travel safe, did they check your fridge? I have heard mixed reports mostly that people haven't been checked. When we last drove back in to the country at Dover in 2019 we were pulled in to the rummage area for the first time ever and when we left Mrs K said how chatty and lovely the lady dealing with us was. I advised her she may have appeared chatty but it was actually an interrogation. Cheers K.

It's just animal products you arent allowed. So we had to bin some milk and cheese.

You can take meat and dairy on board you just have to eat it before you get to the Netherlands!

Yeah the food isn't great on stena line, I recommend bringing pot noodles to make in the cabin with the kettle!
