The Panasonic MZ2000 is a superb flagship OLED TV designed for movie fans and now offers the brightness benefits of MLA (Micro Lens Array) technology mixed with proprietary heat sinks to offer superb peak brightness and HDR playback.
SDR and HDR content are accurate thanks to Filmmaker Mode out of the box, plus there is the added benefit to bright room viewing of a new light sensor and white balance adjustment that follows the creator's intent but adjusts the image to suit your environment.
Peak brightness and HDR tone mapping match that of the other major flagships in 2023, with excellent HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision playback that is incredibly bright, vivid and colourful.
Gaming is also good with two HDMI 2.1 ports (40Gbps) an improved game bar and an accurate True Game picture mode. It’s not perfect and there are a few slight niggles here and there, but overall, the Panasonic MZ2000 offers superb cinematic SDR and HDR image quality along with an excellent Dolby Atmos sound system and it certainly lives up to its flagship status.
Highly Recommended.
The good
Superb cinematic SDR & HDR image quality
Excellent brightness with superb black levels and shadow detail retrieval
True game picture mode, game bar and decent gaming features
Very good sound quality
The not so good
Only two 40Gbps HDMI 2.1 ports with eARC using one
Some posterisation around bright objects
Some just above black dithering noticeable
Best picture settings for the MZ2000 - • Panasonic MZ2000 BEST ...

It’s a shame you cannot get the same TV spec without the the built in sound bar. It doesn’t consider those of us that have a separate system. I went with the awesome G3 which looks fantastic wall mounted.
So now you need to make comparison between this MZ2000 vs Sony A95L , both offcourse 77'' and both calibrated !!!!!
Hey Phil I have watched your stuff for years, nice to see you getting into good shape, keep it up 👆
I appreciate that! Thanks
Please make a review of the Panasonic MX 950 Mini-Led. Thanks and cheers...
Thanks for this nice comparaison. Please compare the MZ2000 with the Sony A95L side by side in filmaker mode. Could be interesting!
I still have my older Panasonix 4k Tv from 2013 and I tried a newer model from some other brands... but the picture quality was nowhere near to my panasonic... :) I think I will go for the MZ2000 :)
Did you use a Panasonic 4K player with HDR optimizer?
Great review..thankyou. The cyan tint on the panasonic looks bad.
How does it compare to LZ1500? (picture quality)
This year’s shootout will be epic
A fatal 4-way before 4 titans
Can’t freaking wait
I adore Panasonics Image approach, it's so naturalistic and film-like vs. even Sony.
I'm still driving a Panasonic Plasma (the last one - the best one) and even all these years later, I LOVE it's image, even playing PS5 on it.
Will say, their design needs a bit of a touch, to stand out, as it's 'best image' with a huge compromise on a very standard looking set (they should stand out in a way that B&O does, in their own way)
Yes they got the best approach for image when watching more critical content like movies at night but their marketing is terrible and the lead they use to hold over other brands a few years ago is shrinking substantially to the point the LG G3 scored higher by AVForums review. Not to mention assuming you happen to live in a country that they sell them their prices can be very high depending on the country and they don't even offer MLA in 77" whereas LG and Phillips will have this option.
@Richmondthefish I agree. That commitment to image quality, comes at a premium that does male their sets unfortunately too expensive. Having said that, my plasma is some 15 years old, and if still runs like a charm and has image quality that rives 90% of led lcd tvs. So there's something to be said for that ;)
But, unfortunately the market is run by NIT numbers and jargon.
You definitely need to upgrade! You’re disrespecting that ps5
@@koincidental The Panasonic ZT came out in 2013 but you said your Panasonic plasma is 15 years old?
@telford2155 well... being fact checked on a guesstimate of the date. So, let's be specific. It is a tx-p50vt50. Release 2012. So it's still pretty darn old at 11 years in the TV world. (Prior to last model)
But what I said about the image still stands true 👍
Is the LZ2000 an improvement over the JZ2000? Seems like there hasn’t changed much except for speakers and game mode?
hello the mz2000 combined with the ubp820 do I need to deactivate the tone mapping? Thank sorry i french
Do the HDMI 2.1 really do not have the full Bandwidth? So only 40 GGPS instead of 48 GGPS?
I have a question...
Can you tell me the difference between 77lz Vs 77 Mz?... The picture quality is it the same?... Or improvement the brightness?... %?... Thanks
Did Panasonic New model MZ2000e address and fix the problem with the LZ2000e model...the bass speaker rattles and the plastic casing vibrates when volume at normal anytime a movie or moderate bass is played...❓This is not an isolated case...there are others on the website avforums documenting the exact problem.
Look, I recently bought this Toshiba Android TV 43 inch 4K Ulta HDR TV, I have 3 HDMI inputs, how can I tell if it has 2.1?
A well-balanced review by this AVForums presenter 👍
Thank you kindly!
How bright is the TCL C735 TV?
please review the mz1500
Thanks .
Thanks for the great review. I still have the LG C7. Time for an upgrade perhaps!
Is it still running good?
No burn in on it yet? mighty set back then
@@MM-Official Burn in is only for Bums.
Great presentation by this person 👏
When it comes to superb pictures, cinemas viewing in terms of picture definition/details/clarity/crispness, Panasonic & Sony are leaders taking 1st place equally😅.
But when it comes to using overall latest smart tech/apps/softwares updates, gaming 120hz & number of ports supported from Smart tech TV's then LG & Samsung will be leaders in 1st place equally😅.
It's always a difficult buy decision to make between these 2 Japanese & SKOREA great TV brands 😊
I really like the MZ, but feel like it isn't quite the slam dunk I hoped... The posterization + noisy above blacks really rub me the wrong way. I also believe Pana will fix it for the 2024 models with the new Pentonic 1000 chip, making the MZ series a bit of a dud for me...
is it me or just what...the LZ2000e model has better detail than the new MZ2000e ❓however the LZ2000 e has audio issues with bass rattling the plastic casing at moderate levels, while playing a movie or anything with moderat bass...
@@briancampbell7712how is it that the whole world ain’t giving attention to Panasonic anymore??
@@briancampbell7712- It seems like you were spot on with the fixing on the issues with the new Pentonic 1000 chip, seem to have been addressed in the new Z95A. With regards to the LZ2000 I think there were certainly some quality control issues with the sound system. However I have a 65” LZ2000 and the sound system is perfect, it exhibits non of the reported issues with rattling etc.
Does it have 3d feature.
i was debating this or the mini led the mx950 from panasonic, wonder if you;ll be reviewing the latter?
Hi
Can't seem to find any reviews anywhere of the MX950. Any thoughts on the tv or a good purchase?
Many Thanks
@@audi4581 I dont know because I barely heard anything about it because im undecided between the mx950 and the mz2000
@smugeebear
The MZ1500 & MZ2000 will be great tv going by the available reviews. On paper the MX950 looks very good and is lot cheaper them the two models mentioned. However when it comes to reviews of the MX950 complety non-existent except for the 4 reviews on the panasonic website.
Confused on whether the MX950 is a good tv. Guessing it will be similar to the Sony mini led tv which has been reviewed well. But jury's out until any reviews are available and feedback on the mx950.
Why is highly recommended? If it’s not very beter than the S95C ?
Shame the 77” doesn’t have Micro Lens Array like the 77” G3 does. Wonder why?
Lg keep the exclusive for themselves - they are all LG panels at the end of the day
6:29 you have a stuck red pixel. Did this get resolved?
thats the camera, high iso creates hot pixels
Hello, true cinema mode is not the most precise? knowing that it is calibrated by Hollywood experts thank you😊
Be careful with Panasonic TVs. It is true they have the best picture quality IMO but they can't manage Dolby Vision and Sound Passthrough setting engaged togoehter. Motherboard starts making crackling/rumbling noise at the back.
My TV is fully calibrated all the modes that's why I love LG middle-class and upper-class they can be calibrated to reference so ya Phil u not talkin to me I hope they win the blind shoot out again this year like last year with color accuracy in hdr and sdr
Yup, and every year you can get them in less and less countries.
Seems like you are finding alot of complaints compared to the lg.This makes no sense because Panasonic always improves the panel from lg.
waiting for QD ML OLED from Panasonic. Wouldn't buy any oled at this point
Just buy a Samsung qd oled have great colour volume and is very bright at a peak of 2000 nits
@@harryvlogs7833 not buying samsung. No DV
Panasonic mz2000 vs Sony a95l 🙄
The tv to buy for 2023 not the best looking but the best flagship tv i heard from a calbarater its better than the Sony flagship. If Panasonic added 2 hdmi's and some makeup they would kick everyone's ass
I love Panasonic but they keep missing the target, they have used the same design for their flagship since 2019, come on Panny lets see some innovation for 2024
£2600 for a 55 inch....you joking 😮
Lets have a blind shoot out of this Panasonic TV with the Samsung Sony and LG sets.
For the record the Sony sets have the best image processing settings than any other sets out there😂
Sony are not picture accurate due to their reliance on the faux sharpness setting ‘reality creation’. That’s why Sony’s will never have the filmmaker mode picture preset on their TVs. Disable reality creation and the PQ via Sony’s, any model, is truly appalling. The only way to defeat this is by way of calibration and who wants to pay an extra £400-£500 for calibration on top of the already overpriced Sonys?!
No sono algoritmi artoficiali
Hate the stand on this
LG G3, Samsung S95C and Sony A95L are so screwed 😂
Not really, you can't get this TV, or any Panasonic TV, in so many countries -- including the US. the largest TV market. So LG, Samsung, and Sony aren't too worried.
@@gb3496 Even people in the U.K. who have access to it are not jumping on this TV for many reasons. A few to mention.....no MLA in 77", posterization, subpar low bit rate content, included sound system that makes it bulky and more expensive
Negative, this set actually underperforms in comparison...
@@gb3496 what’s Value electronics to you?
"LG G3, Samsung S95C and Sony A95L are so screwed"
panny is falling behind the most. pulled out of australia, canada and U.S. and this is the first year AVforums scored the LG OVER the panny 😂😂😂😂
The Samsung seems much more natural in displaying colors.
Panasonic is very well known for most accurate colors out if box
Have u seen the whole video? Its just what can be captured by the Camera. It doesnt represent what i looks like personal
@@grantorino9049 no it is not possible, wrgb oleds do not reproduce colors correctly. It's obvious!
You would have rated this tv over the G3 if Vincent had. Why bother watching you, when I can just watch vincent instead of a parrot.
who's vincent? sounds like a painter from italy
Panasonic is better in any mode except 2x2.1 hdmi and slightly higher input lag but still good.
Colors are amazing and no game ever looked better on any tv as well movies and tv I seen so far.
G3 is like a year behind this so either a bad batch or a very biased “opinion”.
I will get this unless Sharp comes out hard and from reviewers I trust.
It’s a perfect gaming tv.
@@TVNorwayActually, S95C still beats this out...
@@vlcthefishnever heard an Italian name sound like Vincent lmao I think you meant Vincenzo 😂😂
@@bigcdub That just says you haven’t seen it, pure and simple.
Better to say S90C would beat it being the better one overall and futureproofing than S95C as it also share same problem with bandwidth limitation, but for picture and even colors MZ2000 is the best looking tv we had so far.
Best tv last year except gaming? LZ2000/LZ1500 (last year models).
Have you seen LZ2000/LZ1500 beside a S95C just to make a even very different comparison.
Also, have you seen a S95B (1211/1204/1205) properly calibrated vs S95C?
The hawks making videos here and they must love people like you who just blindly buy not seeing for yourself but just follow something you can’t see on a UA-cam video, a video should be a guidance, not to get people buy most expensive for obvious reasons you might not see…
