Perseverence personified, that’s you, Bud. Thanks for more inspiration and laughs along the way. Keep keeping on!
Nice job sir, you keep fooling around your going to have one fine looking and running machine. This has to be one of my favorite series on your channel because I would be doing pretty much the same thing and includes reading disassembly instructions after the fact!!!!🙄😏😉😂😂 Thanks for the update sir, fun stuff.
Thanks Terry
I just had to smile. You work the way that I do. It works most of the time.
Hi Mike. That action with the steering wheel looked like the right thing to do, it worked just fine. About optimism, I am an optimist until I have no other choice. With the painting, you will know where you have been so far. Have good days!
Some of the most helpful videos I’ve ever seen.
I’ve got the same machine and have had my share of repairs over the years.
Some things, that I’d rather not get involved with, you completed and showed everyone the shortcuts. Thanks for your videos.
Love to hear it
I'm completely relieved no glass was harmed in this video
Me as well!
Always look forward to your videos but do not want them to end.
Always appreciate ya watching
Captain, you have your hands full with this 555. Great Video as usual, thanks
It's gonna be nice!
This is great to watch. A backhoe would be so handy to have around my place like that. I like my benchmark abrasives too. good stuff. Thanks for the videos. Really enjoying them.
Will definitely be handy
Good luck fixing power steering system Captain Kleeman
Thanks Kevin
Mike, love how you always keep a positive attitude when things don't always go as planned !!
Thanks
Ask DP about the spare yellow paint from bubba dump 😂😂😂😂 he might just let you have it 😂😂😂😂
🤣
Might have to fight MGTS for it though!
Mike, you REALLY did a great job on that engine. It is one of best starting Diesel's on the web!
Thank you
One invaluable thing I have learned from watching you is that I should consider how something could be rebuilt vs replaced. You prove that over and over no matter the part. Thanks
It's the most affordable way for sure
Thank you for pointing out the cylinder lock out. Too many people do not see that danger! Buddy of mine found his coworker under his dump trailer after it failed while working on it.
Good morning CAPTAIN! I admire your tenacity and I'm impressed with your progress. Enjoying the videos and learning something each time I watch 🎉🎉❤
Appreciate ya watching bobby
Glad to see the TLB back in video. Always enjoy seeing you get it done on the equipment!
It's coming along nice!
29:43 man, my heart is tense and hoping it comes off easy! Your ability to do a job by yourself with just your brains and tools amazes me. Makes me think of your bell tower video, which is still one of my all time favorites.
The bell tower was definitely a good time
Captain, GOD BLESS YOU! The job would be tough enough without recording the repair. But you make it look easy, by changing camera angles, documenting the nuances, showing the parts and process... A DANG MIRACLE! I hover, sweat, curse, and crowd over every struggle. You have to lean back, get the shot, figure it out, call around (maybe wait to get an answer or part), fix it, put it back together, clean up... AND EDIT THE WHOLE DANG THING. Wow! Thank YOU sir!!!
You all make it worth it! Appreciate the support!
I’ve always heard them as crows foot
Morning mike
Correct
I have a full set of SAE & Metric crows feet and line crows feet. They have come in handy so many times!
A new piece of floor plate or some people call it diamond plate would be a nice upgrade on the backhoe! Probably a piece of angle iron would work for the door frame it looks like Mike! The black grill is nice now brother, Kirk from Louisiana! Thanks for sharing my friend! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It’s amazing you don’t seem to have left over nuts and bolts from these repairs. Nice paying attention to detail.
Love watching your video's. You don't just do it you explain the steps and show it.
Appreciate the feedback
I really needed this this morning bless you for being there for me and all of us. You put a smile on my face and a giggle. Thank you very much for sharing your content
Glad to be here! Hope your day was alright!
You’re so lucky to have such perfect working conditions, 😅 what more could you ask for!! Fresh air sun tan and flies ❤ can’t wait for your next adventure on the 555 🎉 soon I hope
Hope it’s an adventure with the 55 not on the 55
Yes, I quit watching the Pakistani Truck mechanics. Those guys work on the side of the road and their shop is usually sand. The Captain works in worse conditions.
Making good progress on the 555. Stay safe Mike and keep it snarky.
Snarky is my specialty
@@CaptainKleeman it’s one of the reasons I subscribe to your channel. 👍
I do enjoy your videos and how you have fun doing them and the work itself. Your humor makes them so enjoyable keep up the great work please! I am looking forward to you fixing the cab floor.
Mike another 5 🌟 video I believe this ole gal is going to be on the homestead for a long time unless you get a good deal on one better and ready to work and not be worked on. As always God bless y'all from Gaffney South Carolina viewer 🙏❤️💯
Thank Daniel
Ah, the chug of a three cylinder diesel.... unique!!!
Pleased you got the main hydraulic hose replaced, those clips are much better suited to that application 👍
Your face had a disturbed look when you lifted the top cover off the steering pump, your explanation as to what you had done made sense, the manual came in handy !
Pleased there is plenty of parts out there readily available for you too !!!
The offset spanner head from Dave has found its use, good of him to send it up to you!!! 😁
Just an FYI, in case you didn't already know, and since you used brake cleaner to clean that exhaust bracket. For future reference, any parts that you plan to weld on should only be cleaned with non-chlorinated solvents, otherwise when you weld on it, the residue will generate chlorine gas, which you REALLY don't want to be breathing. Some folks will call me a nervous Nellie, but I've had that drilled into my mind from numerous shop teachers and welding instructors. Just lookin' out for ya bud! 🙂
Interesting
Always a good reminder.
Great to see you working on the 555 again. Keep up the good work and thanks for the video Captain.
Thank you
Looking better all the time Mike, at least you found all the parts you needed. It cost me $1000.00 for a new hydraulic pump on my tractor because I couldn't get all the pieces I needed. Keep smilin
Good morning captain. Love the videos. I wish u could post every day
Man I love workin' on the 555! Thanks Cap'n!
💪
I was replacing the fuel line on an old truck. Local parts made it with hydraulic hose with their crimp ln b fittings. Good stuff!
She coming along! You have great commentary. Really enjoy your style.
Thanks Marc
I liked @DieselCreek 's characterization of projects like this (his Christine restoration as an example) as a "social distance restoration", which looks good if you're more than 6' away.
Exactly lol
The Bass Boat grill really sets er off there bud. I'll definitely be waiting for the fishing trip to see how that goes.😉
She sure is turning into a pretty solid machine.👌🤙
Slow but sure!
@@CaptainKleeman Absolutely.🤙
I always look forward to these 555 videos. Thanks Captain!
💪
That tractor will be as good as new when done Mike❤
💪
Mike, I'll say it again: You're way braver than I am! You're tackling some stuff I'd never do. Great video! Love it. Lee
Thanks lee
@@CaptainKleeman Economics require muscle and inventive ways! 😅. Sweat equity equals fresh machinery!😊😊
The style A/C compressor that was on there makes an excellent air compressor! It was very popular with the off road crowd for the speed and simplicity. Could be handy on there, or another project vehicle. Keep up the awesome content!
Cool idea for sure
With that A.C. unit off, ya just freed up some screaming eagles for the 555 .
More horsepower means more fun!😂😂😂
True! Lol
Thumbs up 👍 even the smallest piece can make it look so much better 😂
Anything you do is going to be an improvement Mike, looks good brother! I wouldn’t worry about what video critics think, I imagine those people creep you? lol 😂 😂😂😂 I enjoy watching you do fabrication work too, being a certified Welder and retired after 40 years in the business! I was hoping you would take the doors off and bring repair them too!
Good morning Cap’n… There’s nothing more invigorating than working on the triple nickel in double nickel temps!
“There’s NO PLAN like having NO PLAN!” Cap’n I think you just came up with a new caption for your next batch of T-shirts.
I’m glad the Crow Foot spanners came in handy. I was thinking about the three nickels when I sent them… they may also work in the Ranger portion of the RangeAru!
Won’t be long and you’ll be hoeing around to your hearts content… and that’s a good thing!
PS: we have 7 broods of bluebirds and two of wrens. Did you have any luck?
It's amazing, your not afraid to tackle anything!😊
Cap't, love to watch you work, tenacious and patient. And of course, the eternal optimist, a good thing.
Thank bill
👍👍👍💙💛❤Imi place cum privesti detaliile. Felicitari CAPTAIN KLEEMAN! 💙💛❤👍👍
Regarding the lose battery cables, until you get them replaced, turn them upside down. Then tighten. That should take up the slack as the tapers will be opposite of each other.
Keep up the good work!
Thank Libby. Already have the new connectors as of today, but I'll remember that for next time
Great video Captain. Repairing those rust holes sure looks fun! 😅 Theres the right way and an easy way.. Good luck with that Mike! Hope it's easy for ya buddy
💪
Another good chunk of stuff done. Coming along nicely Captain 👍🇺🇸
Thanks max
Great progress on the 555 Mike. Thanks for sharing.
Nice to see you working on the 555 again Captain.
It's gonna be a real handy piece of equipment on your homestead and on your brothers property.
My Wife and I use those blue toweks cleaning chicken wing grease covered pool tables in sports bar when I recover them.
They get really nasty.
You can wash and reuse them 3 or 4 times before they are onky goid for one last use cleaning oil and gunk.
Saves some cash outlay for us.
No bleach tho, it destroys them.
They are definitely some good towels!
Sweet that the interior was redone! Love the earth tone color scheme! ❤
🤣
another great video, thanks for letting us watch your hard work. also would like to mention that you said your never going to use the A/C. but you could use the A/C compressor as a air compressor and a storage tank could come in handy.
👍
Another great video, I love your persistence, you never give up. Great job. Love watching !
Thanks Andy
So glad to see you doing some rust reparations. Of course, you have a method and order but it has been something I was looking forward to (especially the floor). I love seeing the number of female viewers who are weighing in on the 555 videos too!
I am pretty excited to get started on the floor repairs.
I love your videos, you make them so enjoyable, you show what it's like for us common people to work on stuff, and you make me laugh!
💪
I love watching you work with positive attitude. Git r done
Thanks Rick
I wonder how many times on my "junky old equipment" I've found that the cause of "junky" was that someone in the past used the wrong thing to "fix" a problem, that just ended up causing more problems? (Okay, I'll confess, sometimes I was the someone.😁) Thanks for the video, and take care,
It is like an appendix, who needs one of those.
Actually, I like taking things apart and putting them back together again. Sadly, I usually end up with a few extra parts, like an appendix. I took apart a wood planer (thicknesser for those of you one the other side of the pond). I painted a 10'x4' table white and put everything on the table just like they showed in the book. A lot of folks said I would never get it back together. I did.
I love the proper use of the proper tool for the job (Phillips head screwdriver adapter). Well played
My favorite content is you working on the 555, can't wait to see her fiddled back together 😮
You did a helluva good job on that old engine for her to fire up like that. Well done!
Thank you
Great work, Mike. Soon this piece of equipment will be one of your most prized possessions. Work ahead, though!
Another great triple nickel video Mike. Keep the great content coming!
Thank you
WOW> Captain pleased ya working on the 555.
💪
Had an 1955 Oliver Super55 with the same Ford steering gear. I sold it for $1000 rather than deal with taking the entire dash apart to replace the $600 gear. As reported on some forums, the kit repair wasn't a walk in the park. I'm rooting for you.
One step at a time. things are looking great. I always enjoy your videos Thanks.
Great vid, givin it the old college try.
Love watching your video, a great way to relax 😳 19:51
Thank you
You have such a great sense of humor and disposition. 😁 The backhoe is coming along slow but sure. Nice video Mike. Thank you. 👍
4:38 Crowsfoot tubing socket. Nice. Almost nothing else works when you need one of those.
Good morning Captain Kleeman.
Correct
You’re getting there, Mike!
Slow but sure!
Keep at it and you will have a good tool for the homestead..
💪
You're welcome! For the grunting and help I provided when you took off the driver's door. I was also helping support the professional scaffolding, of course. 🤣 Painting is looking sharp!! Only change I'd suggest is to paint the inside of those circles with gold. That will emphasize the thickness of the grill. The black/gold contrast would be sweet!!! 👍
Now that would be a fancy paint job
I believe what Dave sent you are called crowsfeet. Smart man to replace both hoses.
Love the channel! Its like the lottery, never know what number is coming next... 555, fubaru, chix house, DP work.... lol
Gotta keep everyone guessing
always a good day when the ol ford gets more prime work done on it. she will be digging soon. have a great day captain .cheers.
Very much enjoyed this one! Looking foward to the next in this series. Nice job.
Thanks Danny
I would love to have a backhoe you keep fixing things that will be a great tool for you
Should be handy!
Thank you for all your help answered all my questions very informative , we’re back up and running 👍👍
Great video Captain Kleeman
Those battery cable ends are only for when your broke down emergency only. Swet copper eyes on the cables and use marine cable terminals so the cables can be bolted on, you’ll be glad you did!
great video Captain, you really made me laugh when after doing most of the work you decided to read the manual, that's the way we men like to work , reading the manual is always a last resort 😂🤣😂,thanks for sharing 👏👏👏👍👍👍
She is going to give back to you in solid work every little thing you do to get her back in solid working state Mike, it is so nice to see that beautiful piece of working art coming back from the scrap yard, so thank you for bringing us along on your adventure Mike have a good day and love the content.
Should be a good machine
Mike it's getting closer to being ready to dig a hole ,I do feel due to its age it will always need a little repair job ,but you Mate are one of the most patient happy people on UTUBE you put a smile on my face thanks
Cheers Kym

Brand new equipment needs fixed too. Part of it. Appreciate ya watching
Lots of pieces parts, lots of digging (I'm sure a few skinned knuckles too)but it all comes together. Good progress Mike.
Slow but sure!
So glad I was able to help out with the door,it sure is heavy,i may have injured myself 😂
🤣
I have a steering box like that on my international 966 my son and I rebuilt it last year. I found the parts online for $40 . A rebuilt one was $1000.00. I Love your videos.
Pretty similar situation here, hoping the seal kit does the trick
@@CaptainKleeman mine has been great. Turns with one finger. Turning 10 1/2 " wide tires on my tractor .
Another awesome video! Thanks, Mike. Keep up the great work!
Thank you
The old 555 Is getting a new lease on Life ..LOL...Great job so far...Great Video Mike...
She's getting closer!
Looking good Captain Kleeman. I need to do some of the same things to my mahindra. 😊
💪
Gotta Love Dave! He's such a thoughtful guy. He made me an awesome wooden mallet for putting my sap taps in. Great video Mike!
That's awesome
Nice work and progress again on the 555. The open wrench is called a crows foot BTW.
Looking good Captain! I love the series, keep them coming-
Thanks Kurt
I just love your channel! Keep up the great job!
Thank you
👍 Good job all around. Yep, cut out as much rust as you can. You can never stop rust, you will see it again.
💪
slowly but surely moving forward. I hope that the seals are all that is wrong with the power steering pump. It can be frustrating working on old stuff, fix one thing just to have something break further in the line.
Everything that dets repaired ups the pressure on the next thing. Good idea to replace both power steering lines while things are apart.
