We speak with an American doctor just back from Gaza about the "unimaginable scale" of its humanitarian crisis. Irfan Galaria, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, recently wrote an op-ed for the L.A. Times describing Israel's assault on Gaza's civilians as "annihilation." Dr. Galaria, who has worked in conflict zones around the world, says he and his team witnessed "a collateral humanitarian crisis of an unimaginable scale," involving the "deliberate attempt" to both target civilians with military assault and to deprive them of aid. "I thought I was going to be prepared, but I was not prepared for what I saw," he says.

The claims made by Dr. Irfan Galaria do not hold up under scrutiny.
Specifically the doctor asserts to have treated patients in Gaza, portraying a harrowing image of the situation there. However, scrutiny reveals there is no proof he was even in Gaza since the war began. There is a face book picture 6th February but is is clearly a photo shop image.
Additionally, the doctor's assertions about the conflict, such as the use of sniper shots targeting children, are of highly questionable due to the nature of standard Israeli sniper cartridges which would literally destroy a child or adults head.
This ultimately questions the reliability of the doctor's testimony and highlights the dangers of misinformation, particularly when it enters mainstream media channels unchecked.
Special thanks to Ryan Macbeth (check out his substack page) for his very detailed and professional investigation of the claims made by Dr. Irfan Galaria which clearly not hold up under scrutiny.

The claims made by Dr. Irfan Galaria do not hold up under scrutiny.
Specifically the doctor asserts to have treated patients in Gaza, portraying a harrowing image of the situation there. However, scrutiny reveals there is no proof he was even in Gaza since the war began. There is a face book picture 6th February but is is clearly a photo shop image.
Additionally, the doctor's assertions about the conflict, such as the use of sniper shots targeting children, are of highly questionable due to the nature of standard Israeli sniper cartridges which would literally destroy a child or adults head.
This ultimately questions the reliability of the doctor's testimony and highlights the dangers of misinformation, particularly when it enters mainstream media channels unchecked.

Democracy Now needs to take this video down until they can provide evidence to support the claims by Dr. Irfan Galaria.

@@specialingu May-be... but my point is he is telling a STORY.... of "Annihilation" painting out a landscape of "Annihilation" with words alone. and out of all this "Annihilation" ... not a single photo...? NOT even 1 !!! ( they resorted essentially stock footage in this video ). Peoples Lives are on the line... and it is an Absolute INSULT... to tell a story of such a height : without a single photo....
