Your lessons are on point where others miss the mark. Thank you for your lessons! Any chance of teaching sound system - op Ivy? One of my all time favorite songs but I can’t seem to find reliable chords or tabs. That little lick in the beginning is just so delicious!
Amazing lesson as always Marty, but could you consider making some intermediate-advanced ones? Could you also do accidently in love by counting crows? :D
Marty, dude ..... I would like you to know, probably like thousands of others, you have taught me soooooo much about playing and you are one of my heros. You changed my life Marty!!!! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.
Hey Marty, thanks man, this is my favourite song! There are a bunch of guys on my team out here in Saudi that use your vids to learn to play so thanks from all of us. And hey, remember; when everybody loves you....that's as funky as you can be!
Oh man they have way better songs on August And Everything After in my opinion, after that album they went in a direction sonically that i didnt like. There is also a rare and hard to find song by them which is a loose cover called Mean Jumper Blues that is really good. Last i checked (several years ago) it does not exist on youtuve other than live and bootlegged versions.
@@the_original_Bilb_Ono Ahh ye I have heard of that one around the internet before. I have no doubt that there are more songs definitely by the Counting Crows that have more substance, but when I think of the Crows I think of Mr. Jones automatically.
@@RC32Smiths01 yeah it's what they're most known for. I remember when that song came out, me and my sister watching the video on MTV and trying to dance like him. Lol
@@ryansheedy5187 he knows what we are talking about. I love Marty's attitude and patience but I'm not a sub or a regular because his approach and lesson choice is for beginners - and hes an amazing beginner teacher! I said out loud, "oh he would be good to teach me this song" since I rarely strum acoustic. But on electric, I just dont come to this channel. Edit - ha! Case in point - Marty teaches an open F chord here not a f barre chord. No doubt because of difficulty beginners have with an F barre but it just doesnt sound right (to me). I'm comfortable with barre chords and immediately notice the song is much improved with this correction. So...yeah, sadly no reason to ever come back here. It's not just song choice, hes a good beginner teacher its everything. Approach, chord substitution, speed at which lesson progresses. And that's fine that you didnt notice, one day you will buddy! I remember when I thought F was the hardest (non-bar) chord to play, but with all the enjoyable practice I’ve gotten from your tutorials chord transitions with all kinds of chords have become so smooth and natural. Thanks again Marty!!
@@nashie16he’s playing like a 4 finger Fmaj7, some call it F/C. It’s basically the Barre Chord except you don’t barre the chord, you place your finger on the first of the B string. Then strum the 4 notes you got your fingers on, and you can strum the high E, just not the low E at all
Thank you Marty I am only 11 years old and I learned five different songs from you a lot of videos are like you have to download an app to play guitar you’re all I needed to play thank you so much
hey marty, I have searched and searched for a proper tutorial on a more obscure but very simple song by Childish Gambino. Ive found none.. It's called "What kind of love" And i would LOVE if you made a tutorial on it :D
Omg, this song brings back some good memories. Speaking of memories I miss the the old "HERE WE GOOOOO!" right before the lesson started. :-D Thank you Marty!
One of my favorite songs. I had it all down but wasn't sure about that one bridge part so thanks marty! I know you get a billion requests but if you could do The Hell Song and In Too Deep by sum-41 that would be amazing. Edit: That solo on The Hell Song is so badass.
Ok I might be able to play this one lol 😂 🤷♀️ I stopped playing for like a week and a half and it has destroyed my playing...I have learned maybe 10 chords from Marty after like the 8th one I was like getting overwhelmed and obsessive about playing! Which isn’t a bad thing but had to step back for a bit and return with fresh eyes and fingers lol Anyone else?
TUNE REQUEST: Alicia Keys, 'If I Ain't Got You' on guitar 🎸 The opening riff is doable but optional given the chord progression which will be foreign to most.
Messy but awesome coz I been trying and ur one...i could do it kinda. No offence but when tutorials have a virtuoso git god I know I'll neva match his level and yeahnah it's intimidating. You keep going and thank you. My brother passed 4months ago. We played a lot he taught me and he loved rem. But now I'm not strumming in the background I've got learn. Cheers
Marty you’re not playing the F major barre right? So I can play and Fmaj7 in place of the barre? I really struggle transitioning from open to barre chords. Open chords just sound so much prettier than barre. You didn’t really talk about the F chord in this video….thanks bro
@martymusic. My understanding is, when you go from am to f it is on the upstroke. My question is this: with the F you are using you dont strike the low or high e correct? So what about the upstroke to F? Do you strike the high e or do you somehow have to upstroke while avoiding it?

Hey Marty I have to ask what is that Amp that you use all the time with Electric I sounds so good I want one so if you have time can you give me the spec's, Wattage and manufacturer.
I would love to learn fingerpicking Bible and a 44 from Ashley McBrye and or Home sweet Highway by Ashley McBryde, i already tried that one looking at her accoustic version. Bu i don’t seem to get 2 chords.
