In the past few years, India's ranking in the World Press Freedom Index has plummeted. With the country’s independent media increasingly under threat, UA-cam has become a key medium to fact-check trending topics. Twenty-nine-year-old Dhruv Rathee has been using the platform to fact-check issues and hold the Indian government to account. He spoke to FRANCE 24's Delano D'Souza.

As a political science and economics student, I kept track of all that India accomplished under the rule of various political parties. I will say this: while BJP is not the best, it is still far better than others. I advise you to stop watching him. I don't see him doing any work for our country; instead, what I see is that he is always criticising an particular individual and also always targeting a specific religious group. This guy only runs behind money thrown by opposition to praise a particular religious group and glorify a particular party.I recommend that you study documents available on the internet. You can study how the left wing covered it, how the right wing covered it, and how the neutral side covered it. Instead of watching someone talk about their biases and being manipulated, develop your own political perspective and do what seems right to you.
