Hi, these look amazing, and really delicious! I've tried some of the recipes from this channel to bake bread and such, and they're one of the best (if not the best) recipes that I've tried! In the comment section, I have seen some individuals refer to this specific type of rice cake as mochi. Although mochi is a type of rice cake, from what I know, the tteok (the Korean type of rice cake) made in this video differs from the Japanese mochi. If this happens to be wrong though, please feel free to correct me on this! :)
Is rice powder & rice flour the same thing? Also can vanilla bean paste be substituted with vanilla extract? Thank you for making such wonderful things. I've made several of your recipes with great success.
Yes is the same, but it has to say "glutinous or sweet" rice flour in order to get that chewy/stretchy texture. I would recommend using vanilla bean pods instead of extract to get a better favor but you can still use extract if that's all you have. Or just buy some really good store bought vanilla bean ice cream instead. It's faster.
