Just preordered the aurora pro MK2. The dynamic contrast is looking to be insane.
I went with the Formovie T1 in 2023, and it’s still far better than I expected even after almost 18 months.
No doubt, it’s a great projector.
Amazing and very informative event!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
We have the Nexigo Aurora Pro in our theater room and absolutely love it. Cool to see some of these judges also thought it would be a worthy choice.
It's a great projector for sure!
What's with laser speckle on the PX3-Pro? I have a 120" 0,65 gain ALR (CLR) und notice very annoying laser speckle in bright areas
Would the PX3 Pro work well with Lumagen to create a 2.35:1 ratio?
My Xgimi Aura 2 didn't even make the list and it has amazing picture quality.
I was quite impressed with the XGIMI but it fell short on HDR handling and contrast compared to some others. That being said, I would gladly place it in my home and use it everyday.
Why wasn't the AWOL 3500 pro included in the showdown?
AWOL was included in first Showdown in 2022 (while we were their only dealer) and came in 5th out of 6th place. After that they threatened to sue to event organizers and hosts and implicated the judges in some sort of conspiracy.
They threatened last year as well if they were included again.
Despite that they were contacted about being included again this year but there was no agreement made to “accept the results” so they were not included again this year.
Grateful for your integrity on this
@@ProjectorScreen, thank you for this insight.
We have kids so do any of the top USTs turn off if someone walks in front of or looks into the UST while on? I seem to recall Samsung did that but could be mistaken.
Yes, every unit in the Showdown has a setting available to turn down/off the laser when it detects something in the path of the light source to the screen.
The PX3 pro is gaining good reviews everywhere but compared to the price on the older PX2 pro which are currently has much as 54% reductions at many retailers. Is it still worth buying the older model or are the improvements worth the current price differences? In my case looking to move into UST direction from our current short throw projector which is getting towards replacement. Also understanding that I would need a new screen type if not straight aways at some point any money saved over the newer model could be invested in a CLR or ALR screen. I do prefer the looks of the PX3 pro over the more boxy PX2 Pro , even the Pl2 looks nicer than the PX2 but with prices currently around 1599 € maker compard to over 2999 or just over 3000 € depending on your retailer of choice. Are the new features worth the extra price depending on what we will be doing with it. I do not needd the gaming side nice though it is I have a PC for that. 3D is not a deal breaker. & Yes it is brighter than the older model. However our current Optoma is less bright than the PX2 pro and that is ok with some ambient light , but we most us or curret setup in the evening.
My idea is to get away from the cabling nightmare we currently have with a short throw to tye nice streamlined everthing in one place and hidden away without having to channel cables from sockets to the ceiling mounted Projector then install all the AV and power cables .
I should point out we have just had our apartment fully renovated so our old setup had to be removed .
So we sort of have the option for a clean sheet installation also since so much as changed over the last 6 years with UST and lasers projectors we are currently looking for a jumping off point.
Thanks for the excellent review. Greetings from Europe.
Which projector is better formovie or hisense?
They are both great options. The Hisense is $500 more expensive so if that is more than your budget allows, the Formovie Theater Premium is an easy choice.
I am quite disappointed that the Ultimea Thor T60 was not featured. Any special reason for this?
ProjectorReviews opted to not include it due to the general lack of interest surrounding it and its mediocre scoring at last years event. We are limited to the number of items that can be in the shootout at the same time and unfortunately the T60 did not make the cut this year.
Was BenQ too late for the party? Their excellent factory color calibration make them a force to be reckoned with.
The latest model from BenQ was not selected based on lack of availability and interest in the market this year. Hopefully they will have something to enter into the 2025 Showdown.
Will you guys review the Awol 3500 Pro in the near future?
@@WAVMOBContact AWOL and tell them to hit us up if you’d like to see us review any of their projectors.
The formovie premium does not retail for under 2000 dollars. That’s the inferior edge
Correct, the edge is under $2,000. I am not aware of saying otherwise in this video or anywhere else.
It’s how you introduce the projector at the 8 minute mark
@@kevinor8811 Eek, thanks for pointing that out. I think the editors cut in the pricing on the Cinema Edge and spliced it after the Theater Premium.
They can use a meter to adjust the white balance? Since most people don't have such a meter, why allow this?
The iPhone/Android app Kelvin was used. Something available to anyone with a smartphone.
Elson QL3000 will be up there next comparison
That is not an ultra short throw, but we will be getting our hands on one soon for a review.
The PX3 pro is awesome!
It most certainly is!
I was wondering the same thing why were the AWOLs, well AWOL?
AWOL was included in first Showdown in 2022 (while we were their only dealer) and came in 5th out of 6th place. After that they threatened to sue to event organizers and hosts and implicated the judges in some sort of conspiracy.
They threatened last year as well if they were included again.

@@ProjectorScreen hmmm. so shame. I would like to see it in comparsion with their latest firmware :/

First!
🏆
Well the Goat just refused to participate, not a bad decision considering the big gap between the participant brand projectors and the AWOL 3500 pro
If AWOL 3500 was the 🐐 they wouldn't be scared to put the 3500 up against the others.
@kendrelewis5465 I don't think so that the reason was because scared the competition, just read the answer from the channel uploader, you cannot say best projector and having only few to compare,is like best tv but Sony or Panasonic is not there ,best tv or best projector from what we tested at the competition yes I can get that, and don't tell me that AWOL is not too tier projector now
@@harrypotter-mm1jz AWOL is a chicken, not a goat 🐔. sore losers 🤣
@adamhallinoates12 I am not putting my money at this one don't do it also
