Mina is so wise and emotional, I love your interviews Elliot, you' ve talked with almost all of my heroes as a young kid and you are doing it very good :)
Pretty heavy interview and intense! Good job Elliott!! River Runs Red album is a masterpiece and made me a fan! Listened to the rest of the albums and the solo stuff! All amazing.
Tim Gorman if u like audiobooks check out my channel I read Nikki Sixx ‘s the heroin diaries, the dirt by Motley Crue and autobiographies by slash, Manson, etc.
My first concert was at L'Amours Brooklyn, NY in 1993. Life of Agony. I was 13. It was amazing. Jam packed. I will never forget it. Thank you to my sister Barbie for taking me RIP 💔
I learnt about Life of Agony and Mina through Gigantour and I've just read more about his biography and transition just now. I'm so heartened that Mina's found some peace after some incredible challenges in the past. My heart goes out to you, you beautiful person.
“Reach for fun.” I really like what she said about how everyone’s individual struggle with depression and suicidal thoughts is so unique, and how there’s nothing anyone could have said to her when she was going through her self, that would have suddenly snapped her into a better place. That’s true, and I’ve never heard it said quitethat way before. We really do need to seek out our own individual ways of finding fun and happiness, staying away from hard drugs etc.
49 year old hardcore kid/death metal fiend here. I love every goddam thing Mina says, does & represents. One day the magnitude of this meeting will truly hit you Elliott. Kia kaha Young Brother \m/
I remember hanging and jamming some guitar, singing and having some good conversations with Keith (Mina) in NY back in 2003 back stage at this club next to CBGB's. Cool dude!
Really good interview with good questions and well thought answers. I’d like to see Life of Agony live one day but they don’t play North America very often for some odd reason. (Some Canadian shows would be nice).
Elliot, I would love to see you interview Tommy vext. I randomly met him in Seattle this summer, he was sitting at the table next to mine at a restaurant, and when I approached him after he finished eating, just hoping for an autograph, he stood up and hugged me and asked if I wanted to take a picture, and was so damn real and down to earth and cool. He is an inspiration to many
I'm a long time fan of Life of Agony and was a bit taken aback when Keith became Mina. That being said, the world is changing rapidly and we're all being dragged along with it. I saw them open for Anthrax and Ozzy in a two week period back in December 1995. They're great live, but the audiences booed them! Not fast and heavy enough, I guess, but I went out and bought their albums right after. Elliot, you're awesome and your questions were very deep in this interview. Mina's band always spoke of deep personal issues that metal usually never touches. They definitely helped me deal with mine! Keep the faith, kid.
We're all screwed up. Move on and live your life. I've been suicidal my whole life. It's not a waiting game it's finding peace at something you had no control over. Stay punk stay real to yourself and survive. Cheek to tongue.
Wow! Keith-mina-mina-keith is a really mature and really strong and wise person. Just recently dig RRR and it's really heavy record and hard but very cool. Wish this interview last longer and she tell us about loa relationship with ton and Peter Steele. And about who the song death skeaks kindly. Very strong and unique person.
I made the mistake of referring to Mina as he. This person has been somebody who I have really loved to listen to!!! Great person, artist, musician, everything
@@jamesbond1481, ugh, Jesus... So you really want to start this? First of all, I'm far from an SJW. Second of all, I did not say jack thing about this subject in my response to you. My reply said, "Do you really wanna start this shit right now?" Meaning I was not interested in having bothersome discussions with you about it. Third of all, I did not put anyone on pedestal. And last, look at your self-important, passive-aggressive replies, and think again of who is actually patting himself on the back here.
As always, this was a really good interview. What Mina said about the 1% is something America as a whole needs to wake up to. While people such as authors like Chris Hedges, Henry A. Giroux and Noam Chomsky have understood this for years, even decades, most people continue to think as if the labels Liberal and Conservative mean something when the reality is that they’re brands. They function as brands no different than Coke or Pepsi, as if choosing one or the other gives one an individualism and special quality that doesn’t exist, yet society believes in the meaningless brand. Finally, Mina addressing suicide is something I was glad to see. As someone who’s LGBT myself, I’ve had a lot of fellow individuals in the LGBT Community who’ve struggled with suicidal thoughts, and have even acted on them. Some died from these attempts, others did not. I’ve even had to personally talk a few friends in the community down from wanting to harm themselves, so in that way self-harm isn’t an abstraction. There will also probably be times when I’ll have to talk people through these thoughts since I have a degree in Addiction Counseling and will probably have issues of clients attempting suicide and other variants of self-harm in the future. So I’m glad to see Mina talk about this issue in our society. As the Russian author Dostoyevsky pointed out in his last work “The Brothers Karamazov” that people should care about the suicidal as well, for they are the ones who are probably the most unhappy. This was said with compassion rather than harsh judgement or condemning. As before, I enjoyed this interview as well as the questions and answers throughout the clip. I look forward to seeing more from you guys soon! James

She's deep. The way she expresses herself is like few out there, with how much thought she was putting into her responses to your questions. She was also witty and clever! I never was a big fan of LOA--saw them opening for the Misfits back in the 90s and wasn't blown away--but I respect where Mina is coming from, here. Me? If I were President, one thing I'd do is focus on educating people on what transgender folks are really like to try and reduce if not eliminate the level of ignorance fueled hate thrown trans people's way whenever they come up in conversation anywhere. Me, if the chemistry were there? I'd date a trans woman regardless of what she has in her pants if we got along and loved and respected each other. How difficult is it to get your head around the fact that not all men were meant to be men and not all women were meant to be women? This comes from someone who is not the most PC guy on the planet, either.

Not everybody has their sense of self in their dick though... most people would place their consciousness and personality in their brain. The brain is given the wrong body, it's not the body that's been given the wrong brain.
@@backdoorlover9693 so if your gender is so tied to your body parts and (if you have male genitalia) you lose a certain part of your body in an accident tomorrow are you no longer a male? If your gender identity is so attached to your genitals surely that would be the case, right? No?
To me considering what she went through rejecting her natural gender is a natural choice since it still is one you make naturally. Like its just how you feel.
Mina is one of the best vocalists and people in the metal/hardcore scene. Such a treasure.

River Runs Red is still one the most important records in my life. Thanks to LOA's struggle it helped cathartism occur in my life.
It’s one of the best albums of all time IMO
I never knew how important an album it was back in the day. But 30 years later, it answers a lot, and explains a lot. It explains me
Mina is so wise and emotional, I love your interviews Elliot, you' ve talked with almost all of my heroes as a young kid and you are doing it very good :)
Love hearing Mina's thoughts. Discovered LOA in '95 and their songs were very cathartic for me.
I saw life of Agony and sick Of It All last Friday, a night I’ll never forget, truly amazing
That must have been brutal! I felt like I should've been a received a battle medal after being in the Sick Of It All pit.
