Mina wasn’t happy as Keith. I remember when this band first came out. He seemed depressed. Listen to the lyrics of Through and Through. And then look at the situation.
I am not in the same boat as Mina but let me tell you how spot on Mina is, what an advocate for life, regardless of gender...
PS: Mina looks a lot better and fits the gender better than Michelle Obama. I am not poking fun at all, not to mention a LOT stronger person for being open about it.

I grew up very metal, punk, hardcore and crossover. I also am trans, I listed to LOA throughout the transition and I lived it with Mina. She is my greatest inspiration to this day!

Life of Agony will always be on my top 5. I was at first, admittedly, uncomfortable with Mina's evolution. Her former self was my hero. Her transition freaked me out a little bit. That was my problem due to lack of exposure and understanding. Now, she's my current hero. I send love and support to her, good vibes to the band. Mina, keep up the good work xo.

Mina Caputo is an example of strength, intelligence and wisdom, and Life of Agony are an amazing band that has been keeping it real for over 30 years. Not many people/bands can say that!

*couldn't. As in "couldn't care less". "Could care less" is baby talk, it's not really correct English. If you _COULD_ care less, then that literally means you do care about it, because there's a level of caring that's less than how much you care about it. Whereas if you say you _COULDN'T_ care less, that means you truly don't care at all, because it's impossible to care about it less than you already are, because you already 100% do not care.
It seems to be an American thing, to make this mistake. I don't know why its so widespread over in yank land. That and saying that if they did something accidentally, they say "I did it on accident". The correct term is _BY_ accident, and _ON_ purpose. Not on accident, and by purpose. Never use the latter 2, only ever the former 2. I don't know how Americans can make that mistake, especially Americans who's first language is English. It really really really bugs me.
I'm originally from Brooklyn, and was on the scene when they were first coming out, and Keith was always miserable and depressed... now as mina, she seems so happy now...I say who the fuk cares what people do with their own bodies... that's their own business...I actually think she sounds better now when she sings...lol...the new album is great.

What is a woman? An adult human female, sorry. I've been a long time LOA fan so I know who she really is, a biological man who turned into a TRANS woman. I don't have a problem calling her Mina and she now but I really hope she doesn't use her platform to push her ideology further trying to blur the line between a TRANS woman and an actual biological woman and more importantly, trying to get kids into this.

I hate when people don’t have appreciation for our “western nation”. Our wonderful country and western society is what’s allowed all of us to be our selves without shame. The people who look at lgbt community with shame is really far and few between. As a member of the alphabet community by conservative Christian friends treat me better then any of my liberal friends. This idea that western society is such a bad thing was created by shady politicians and the corporate media. They are desperate to divide all of us. I grew up listening to LOA´s music and I goddam respect her decision. The pressure of being in the "wrong" body must be hell. Even more the pressure of a society that wont accept such rarities in nature, indeed its absolut natural. I dont give a fuck if its him, her or whatever, what counts is the unique person.

Happy for Mina. I met Keith briefly before the transition and loved his deep thinking and openly vulnerable nature. I think the trans-thing is more complicated than Mina tries to portray here, I'm afraid. Trans women in women's prisons, no matter how far the transitioning process has been taken at that time - if at all...? Same with having a bearded trans woman in a women's changing room with her bits on display, hmm, just two questions that come to mind. And as a woman I know what being a woman means, it needs no intellectualising or debating. Live and let live but also accept that some might not feel comfortable, maybe even threatened by your demands.

there's a ~40% chance she's gonna self-harm or has self-harmed, compared to 13% for all 11-16yr olds - thought to be the most likely subjects of self-harm. Calling yourself a girl is fine but saying you ARE one is just lying. You have all the features of a male and cutting your dick off for a hole that possesses no possible stimulation for them is not the definition of a female.
I would like to hear your opinion because I would like transgender to be possible but it's a lifestyle that has too many downsides for me to encourage children to take part in.

Mina is really cool. She's helped me on Twitter and I'm finally on estradiol and spironolactone. I'm finally happy. Her hardcore punk meets doom music through Life of Agony along with Type O Negative's got me through some miserable years in my youth. My depression was from not being able to transition and not being able to really talk to my parents about it due to them being Catholic. My dad saw me as male due to putting me through Football. I shocked my mom in college when I told her I slept with a guy.

As a transgender man, I sometimes feel ostracized from the metal community as a whole due to other’s hatred and lack of understanding. I cannot imagine how Mina feels in the metal community considering the stuff I myself have had to concur simply for being different. This genre of music has changed my life and I don’t want to see it burn down in flames.

Tolerance and insanity are two different things. Lawrence is tolerant. Being called a bigot for not beliving someones mental health issues equate to them being able to define themselves instead of being diagnosed by a doctor is actual intolerance.
When you decide you ARE what you are not is when it gets out of hand. I will not advocate a way of life that results in suicide attempts for 40% of them. We need to call you a boy if you are a boy and a girl if you are a girl not because people don't want you to but because of the effects scientific gender has on the body. So, here's an example and this happens all the time: A guy gets his penis removed and is given a 'hole'. She then goes to find a male that she wants to have a good time with. At this point, the man is looking for a female, not a man with no genitals. So when the man comes to find that it's just a guy with a hole, do you think the man will respond to this sexually?
I know two transgender people, one cuts themselves and the other is really confused. I am all for gay and lesbian because they are scientifically possible and there are very few reasons against them, I can't say the same for transgender, no matter how much I want it to be possible.

Ultimately this is about LOA and their music. The newer albums are great. Some people will never be on board with Minas journey. The music is my concern. I don't care what choices someone makes by the way..If you spend your life worrying about other people's opinion or the way they use language you will be disappointed on a daily basis.
