Dan talking about the letter his sister wrote that was in his Dad's bowling bag had me tearing up. I've heard so much about Dan and his family, but I never heard that one.
Had me on the verge when she spent time with their father for his last 2 weeks but his sister passing got me. What an amazing role model and sister she was for Dan. Truly admirable.
Here’s to Dan overcoming that trauma and finding Katie and lil Myrtle. He deserves it all and more. Thanks you for the therapy session Shmuley Shaffir.
Dan your sister Michelle was an amazing person. You are very lucky to have had such a light in your life. This whole cast reinforces why dan is such a well rounded person.
Aww Dan ... The dad stuff got me .. you really have a good understanding of what you lived through.. I've ALWAYS been a fan it's nice seeing men talk about real shit.. I wonder when mines gonna face his childhood and see it for what it is.
This was a tough listen as a fan of Dan and already knowing his sister died. So the whole time he's talking about how awesome his sister I was just waiting for him to drop that crusher that she died. Ugh. We love you Dan
Knowing what happens to Dans family before going into this just makes it hit different. I’m glad he found the light at the end of all the darkness. He’s helped me through some tough times and I’m thankful for comics like him.
Love Dan even more for sharing his life in so much detail and with humour in the right places. He really shows therapy makes shit better. I need to make the call again after getting sober and taking a break. Need to work on myself and he really helped make this clear in this podcast. Thanks Dan, and as always, thanks Ari, you're both brilliant.
Soder’s current relationship with Katie seems so wholesome and healthy - very happy they found each other. I won’t be surprised when they marry. It just feels like they’re meant to be husband and wife 🥹
Ari, the way you get people to open up authentically while also keeping them comfortable enough to examine stuff in a relaxed way is truly unique. Thanks for the great ass pod.
