I had the estate version with the rear hatch window that opened independently of the rear hatch. Indeed it would open as you drove along with the driver's door window open!
Thank for this, I miss soo much my 2.0S manual, extremely reliable, no single electric issue in 5 years just only the noise for the shorter gearing was a miss, but still awesome car... cheap too.
Thank you so much for uploading this review, both of the Lagunas that are featured on this video are no longer on the DVLA computer, therefore they have been scrapped! 🚗
My parents used to have one of these X56's back when they were fairly new, a 1997 2.0 RXE, loaded with options. It was the most utter, terrible piece of junk they have ever owned, in the few years we had it it used up 3 head gaskets, the automatic transmission was a nightmare (Renault claimed their gearboxes never needed an oil change so the dealerships would not do it out of complience with company policies, the thick gunk killed the transmission before it reached the right age of 10 years), it had constant electrical issues and the 8 valve engine was painfully underpowered. It was a low-milage, prestine car and it was always maintained professionally, but it had never worked properly for a single moment. One 800 km drive to Italy was one new head gasket seal :D
Had a facelift Mk1 RXE 1.8 manual as a 10 year old beater, went well and was reliable and comfortable, given the few hundred quid it cost me! Have only had new cars since, actually kind of miss this one...
I have had all 3 Laguna shapes right from Mk1 to the very last. And the best out of all 3 was the original MK1 they were fantastic to drive
The later ones had very unreliable electrics
These clips are awesome! The classic top Gear I remember. Dry British humor and everything
Thank you. I certainly love the British way of these reviews as well!
Great car. They were a major advance on car safety for the masses too
i love the Laguna V6 in Gran Turismo 2
Me too 😄

You're welcome! It's nice to think back about previous cars a person has had, brings up great memories.
1:52 "Stiff tiny little knob".... how infuriating 😆

It's my pleasure! Thanks for the kind comment and viewing :). Aww, poor Lagunas!
@@DangermuffinVideos It was the repmobile of choice back then in the 1990s, along with the Mondeo and the Vectra, remember that? 🚗
