Page is like 4 hours from my Uncle's in Payson. I lived in AZ for just over a year in the 80s... it was amazing and I miss it. Brought back a lot of memories... Oh man... Following...
I was thinking about it and it might be something as simple as the belts that connect between the alternator, generator and motor. You may not need a whole new alternator. You might not even need new belts, an honest mechanic could adjust the gap and tighten it up. But I'm 1,000 miles away so I'm just guessing.
Don't leave keys in ignition for any length of time, a chip in your hey activates ignition which activate van computer used power..I often take the negative cable off my batt overnight when I'm charging phone and not driving much
I definitely never leave my keys in the ignition. However, I also do not have one of those fancy key fobs. I have an old fashioned bear naked window cranking, manual locking 2003 Ford e250😁 no fancy computer in this van. Just the basic old fashioned kind
@TheInappropriateArtist I think a key in ignition can still use battery power for the breaker box fuses under hood..if you have a carburetor you have no computer if you have fuel injectors you have a computer saving memory 24)7
It turns out that AAA does the same thing. They farm out the roadside assistance depending on the area of a country. I found out later that if I'd had enough money in my account I could have had highway patrol get me a tow and then send the bill to my insurance company and be reimbursed. Glad I found out all this stuff so I can be more prepared down the road.
You are incredibly brave to lead your lifestyle.
I think you would have come west in a covered wagon many years ago! You’re strong & determined, like a pioneer woman. I love your character!
Who knows, I may have😁 I think I've been here before a few times.
I think you're super

@davidemm829 well like I said I never leave the keys in the ignition. I was always told that it weakens the ignition and my ignition is already janky
Sounds like the insurance has an outdated system....
