This part of the planet is OhSo special. I'm a Canuck who snuck across the border when so many Americans were sneaking across in the opposite direction (haha). Don't get me wrong, I legally own my property at the south end of Whatcom Lake and also own similar in Canada as well. I consider myself very fortunate because kids today will never know or understand true freedom.

Marion! GET AWAY FROM THE EDGE!!! lol That was terrifying for me, it was like I was standing there, ha! Heights never used to bother me but they do now and I have no idea why. It was a beautiful view though, watching the kelp float in the water. I'm with you on the rocks. I have such a great collection from my travels before. Well, had, I left them behind when I split up with my ex a year ago. Too large to put in the rv. So I'll just have to start my collection anew. And smaller. 😃 Boat life has always intrigued me and I was torn between pursuing it and bus life. Bus life won for now but who knows, a few years down the road, I may find myself on a narrowboat in the UK. Oooooh, that drive/hike to those falls was spectacular! Thanks for sharing your adventures.

People get really offended if you don't choose to continue struggling in the societal way. The same people who argue that you would be fine if you only lived in a sticks & bricks and had a 'real' job would also yell at you and tell you that you're lazy if you DID live in a s&b but were unable to get a job, or find a job that could support you. I honestly don't understand why they get so upset by it. Other people have said it's because they are jealous that there are those of us who dare buck the system and carve out our own bit of happiness because they are too scared to do it themselves. It's sad really but I personally would rather struggle to make my own way than to go back living in a house and having a soul sucking job that doesn't all me to balance my needs as an autistic person who also has adhd. I still work outside my own business but I have cut back to just a few days a week and the change has been so uplifting for my soul. All that to say, keep carving out your niche, you will thrive and piss the naysayers off even more as they stew in their jealousy.

Thanks Artist. A place called "She Who Watches" The Washington side of the gorge. Looking south. An ancient petroglyph. Worth a look. The "pink ladies" are fire weed. I learned in Oregon. To call it Pearly Ever Lasting. Fireworks is how the Eagle Fire started a few years ago. I was a long time Rv'er and job camper. In Oregon. I once worked at a place called, Cascade - Siskiyous National Monument. A beautiful place in SW Oregon. My second year there. A woman. Called herself, artist in residence. I spoke with her. Gave her the tour.

As a lifelong Oregon resident. The Columbia River Gorge is awesome. Oregon has falls all over the state. Don't forget to visit Sam Hill. What the Sam Hill. A real place.

I wish I had some words of wisdom to help you in your dilemma- I will be praying for you!

Awww...LoLo Pass❤ Haven't been there in years and years! I think the wildflowers comnig into bloom starting with a C..might be Columbine? They are soo pretty and come in several different colors. I know the back pain...ugh!! I also have moderate arthritis in my knees...both of them..ugh! I am a school bus driver for a living and have been doing it for 17 years and I love my job, but all that driving has actually wreaked havoc on my aging body. And...just a thought...but when you get some funds together you might want to see about finding some school districts that might be surplusing some of their vehicles. You might be able to pick up a more suitable van for really cheap! And typically, they've been well maintained and are often good to go. Worth a shot anyway. Well..good luck on your travels. I wish I could helpl you out more but my life got flipped on it's lid and I've been working on getting myself uprighted. Always an adventure this life we live. Awwww....too bad you couldn't get into Multnomah falls...thats the one where the parking lot was sooo utterly full. Its pretty iconic and has a full visitors center. The 2nd falls you showed was Pony tail falls and years ago I took my boys there and found that the trail took you back underneath the cliff behind the falls. It was soo cool!. I did a little watercolor of part the path going into the falls. Not sure where you are now, but if you get a chance to go over highway 20 to Washington Pass...I HIGHLY recommend it! It's one of my favorite spots to picnic at the look out. Before you head up to highway 20, take the highway 530 route to Darrington and stop and paint Whitehorse Mountain. 😊 There are soo many spectacular places here in the PNW I can't even begin to list them all. Oh...and the ""pink ladies" you were talking to....they are Fireweed. LOL Thanks for sharing your travels. I didn't get to go anywhere this summer. Hopeful to hit up my favorite spots next year. I just happened to stumble upon your video. I think I keard you say that you were traveling along the "Columbus River Hwy." Respectfully, it is the Colombia River Hwy. I am from Southern Oregon and have traveled up in that neck of the woods several times. I have also been to a few of these waterfalls but not all. I just wanted to correct that it is Colombia River Falls. Thanks for sharing.
