I love it when I see that you've posted a new video. I usually stop what I'm watching and watch you. I thank you for your no nonsense approach. Your professionalism from your career shows through in what you review. Love your channel. God bless you and yours!
Keith is my favorite titanium creator. I use the coffee pour over every day which makes it worth the high price. This kettle looks like another winner. Thanks for the review.
Nice kettle, Mark. One piece construction is important to me because when I go out I often carry only one pot or kettle, so easy clean up is a must. GSI Kettlist is durable and light enough. That wins for me and it's much cheaper as well. I know you like your GSI too, Mark. Thank you for info and effort. And belated Happy New year.
I have the GSI anodized aluminum kettle, usually stay away from aluminum but the anodizing keeps the aluminum from flaking or at least none that I can see. Great review, always enjoy the content and exchanges from the viewers.
I'm not a coffee and kettle person but we are fortunate to have the plethora of kettle and pot options we have currently. 10-15yrs ago there wasn't a lot of options.
I'm not a fan of raised center pot bottoms. If a pot has to do everything, it should be able to fry or brown foods. Cooking oil migrates away from the raised center, likely causing food to stick or burn. I had a disappointing experience with an MSR Alpine cook pot way back in the 1980s when I went way off trail to buy some popcorn to share with friends with whom I was hiking, and it burned and stuck to the raised center of the bottom of the pot. Maybe it makes water boil faster, but it's probably not ever going to make a typical stove perform like a Jet Boil or similarly designed stove system (and that's just a water boiler, too, unless optional accessories are purchased separately). It sure looks sweet, though! Thanks, Mark! ✌️
I can see your point about raised or rippled bottoms. I have been looking at a kettle with a heat exchanger. Would make for a fast, fuel efficient boil but would only be able to use it on gas or alcohol. Thanks for commenting
Nice review Mark, thanks. I have a lot of titanium gear, but I don't feel the need for a Ti kettle. If I'm going to carry a kettle there will likely be enough other gear that the slight extra weight of an aluminum kettle won't be noticed. At half the price, I would go for it.
Wait, you supposed to clean out the kettle after cooking in !? Ha ha. Great review as always Mark, I have a real sweet tooth for small kettles. This looks like a real nice one, simple light. The larger opening looks like it lends well to storing stuff inside, as you mentioned. I normally carry in mine a fold-a-cup, tea, coffee, GSI Java drip and some coco.... just in case ha ha.
Thanks for taking the time to review this Mark. It's hard to tell and looks like the opening may be a little small, but would it fit an iso-butane fuel canister inside the kettle?
Just tried it. Yes, it will fit the 4oz canister easily with room for a small stove and maybe a few other items. It won't fit the larger 8oz canister though. Hope this helps
It looks very artistically made I do like the Assembly of it looks like a super easy way of getting in there and cleaning it out if you have to get a new scrub I like the spout and everything about it looks like a great design but unfortunately I'm not coming up with $89 for it
Gee. Carry a kettle, coffee beans, a french press, coffee mug and spoon, a filter, coffee grinder (electric with 500 miles of extension cord) but cut the handle off your toothbrush so you don't have to carry any extra weight. 😂😂😂😂😂
I agree there a great number of less expensive kettles. I have reviewed a number of them. However, some people are willing to pay the price for titanium. Thanks for commenting
@@MarkYoungBushcraft Trangia 25 weighs 175 g for less than $20 Saving 45 g at a cost of $60 Something is dramatically wrong And it has no seam for food to get caught on
@@neemancallender9092 You don't understand how gram-counting works. As my grandmother said, if you look after the pennies the pounds look after themselves. Well, if you look after the grams the pounds (or kilograms) look after themselves. Saving ONLY 45 grams in total is not worth an investment. Saving 45 grams per lightweight item, it adds up. Ten grams here. Fifty grams there. For larger items a few hundred grams down on each item. Over time the kilos reduce and reduce. As for cost, these items last entire lifetimes. Compared to luxury food, alcohol, weed, travel expenses, etc., these items are affordable and investments.

Any chance of a review of the ridiculously expensive KEITH TITANIUM TEAPOT , I would love to hear your thoughts on this niche product.

I haven't, yet. My wife keeps telling me to make some space but I am a bit of a gear hog. Likely will at some point. Thanks for commenting

I purchased and returned the pour over system. Total waste of money. Beautiful, but not worth the money.
