It's the same way nerds treat indie animation studios. People despise small artists and studios asking for support because in their minds you shouldn't be making a career off of your art unless you have millions of dollars to fund your projects. Art, weither It's music, animation or books, isn't seen as a "real job" to many people and artists asking for support are seen as entitled panhandlers.
The way we support artists has to change, I rather pay n get my music, not share with nobody, n just love or hate the track's. But social media is also that has to change so we can support the artists. 2024™
@@sknl4015 I still purchase albums digitally for artists I listen to the most, worth it in my opinion especially considering streaming can always remove albums and whatnot.

This is wild. I got so fed up with Spotify that I started using iTunes again and actually buying the music I like. 🤔 I guess a lot of other people have been doing the same. 😑 So basically back to CD 💿 and Vinyl it is. Say less. 🤷🏾♀️ Already started back buying more physical media cause these streaming platforms as a whole are just insane. And as an old head lite, I’m fighting it to the end.
I have 3 daughters 26,24 and 22, and they have never bought music. When the iPod touches first came out I would buy them iTunes cards. That generation really only stream music, that’s one of the problems right there
I’m dropping an ep tonight and had the pre-order up all week. I’ve had multiple fans tell me when they click the pre-order link, Apple is taking them to streaming instead of iTunes, which means I most likely sold zero copies before release.
What's ironic Curtiss is that Apple built up their business by marketing their computers and software to independent artists as "democratizing creativity". You don't need to be a mega studio to make a film. You just need iMovie. Make a record? Garageband. And now that we did it, they're going to squeeze us.
The wild part didn't realize I was using the Emo Guide for my social media setup until seeing your color wheel & UA-cam is where a lot of Bold, Birth-giving projects are & will be launched
Curtiss, keep doing you and doing what you're doing. Tune out negativity. Not in the music business, but I am a poet and writer *children's stories, short stories, books, and technical writer). Appreciate you taking your time to help artists out there who want to succeed in the music business. Shows you carr about othets. Blessings to you.
They're doing the same thing woth Patreon creators. Charging extra fees to people who subscribe to an artists patreon through the patreon app. So make sure you tell your creators to sign up through the browser and then log in thru the app. 5:00

A yo to be honest Curtiss King not every Independent Artist has the same quality of sound. So I don't feel comfortable paying full price for a C.D or vinyl when only two or three songs are worth playing in the whip. With streaming I pay one monthly price and get all the music I want
@@415nking that’s why it’s important to use your buying power in ways that reflect your your level of fandom. Buy from Indie artists that genuinely move you to want to support. Lastly, I think it’s interesting how we place expectations on an artist’s art that we don’t on the fast food restaurants we buy from. McDonald’s (which is not a necessity) has been messing up orders and ice cream machines since I was a kid and the price has only increased lol

Tbh I lost faith in all non-physical media when Play Music was phased out for UA-cam Music.
It's good you sharing help for the artist since the iTunes is shifting their stuff. You're a good man keep it up!!

Its less a generational issue and more a geographical and cultural issue. 24 year old Kpop fans have milk crates full of CDs and LPs.
