This time we're looking at iTunes: The Largest (Digital) Music Store. Apple has a huge array of products under their belt from the iPhone to the Mac, Airpods and a bunch of services, but there's one service that you don't really hear that much of now a days. In this video we're going into iTunes and coming out as apple music? Metamorphisis, innit?

The one thing I'll give iTunes over Spotify, is that at least they don't change the UI every two weeks.

I started using iTunes back in 2021, it's where I put my Bandcamp files, iTunes purchases, and music I won't tell you how I got it. Either way, there's a subsection of people who want to own their music and I think iTunes are still a great software for it
i cosign this , i buy way too much stuff off bandcamp and the like. video game soundtracks, independent, soundcloud remixes, all that goes into itunes alongside all my apple music stuff. it's comfy if not a bit overwhelming to organize.
I still use iTunes as well. It's really the only place you can buy music now, outside of Bandcamp, but Bandcamp doesn't have big-label stuff. The only thing that I hate about iTunes is that it uses .m4a. If I'm paying for music I want better quality than 128kpbs
Exactly. I’ll be using iTunes and owning my music forever because I don’t use streaming, iTunes is very familiar and comfy and it works

You forgot to mention the U2 controversy where one of their albums was forced onto every Apple device in 2014

I still use my iPod pretty much everyday, and while I don't really use the iTunes store, the app is so helpful in being able to reorganize songs into folders.
I use Apple Music and really like that I can easily sync over songs/albums that aren't on streaming, and I can make it appear as any other apple music release, such as explicit tags. It's a small feature but I really like it, especially great for 2000s/2010s mixtapes and unreleased music.

@@usernumber354 I mean for mixtapes? I used datpiff, but I think it’s down. To put explicit tags on a song not on streaming, it has to be a .m4a. You can just convert an mp3 to m4a. To make it show as explicit, I use a program mp3tag, and put the m4a in it. I go to extended tags, right click and do itunesadvisory and set to 1.

Apple Music is in preview for windows currently. The good thing is that Apple Music still lets you rip cds and transfer them to your phone/iPod if you want.
I still used iTunes in 2023 to buy and rip music. I travel a lot and like having an offline music player on hand, so I genuinely still carry around an original iPod from 2001 and i still interfaces perfectly with the newest versions of iTunes. It just works so well for such an outdated device. I even upgraded its hard drive to 20GB and iTunes still plays perfectly with it. Gonna be sad when iTunes inevitably shuts down.
My day is so much better when you drop and I rewatch this like 300 times after
ive been using MusicBee since 2017, It was a great option for my low end laptop which wouldnt run iTunes fast due to all the bloat, I have used it daily since then! It's been perfect for sorting my files, editing file tags and downloading podcasts, thank you for giving it the exposure it deserves!!

Been using itunes ever since 2004. Its amazing looking back at different versions of the itunes program. I still use itunes for music management and music listening.

Still using iTunes on a regular basis to rip music from my $1 per CD thrift store finds. And ,oacing them onto my 128 GB iPad classic. It is kind of amazing that Apple still supports iTunes after all these years.
having been stranded on Apple Music since 2018, it is not a bad alternative to Spotify and the like. I more or less like the consistency and simplicity of the model. Just choose a plan and you get everything it has. The animated album covers are neat little toys, even if they snub some choices (e.g, Ride the Lightning, basically any Daft Punk cover, or anything by Death) and have some technical issues (the cover for Lateralus is broken, and Iron Maiden’s Killers’ cover straight up didnt play until recently). Its a nice option if youre not into spotify or any other choice. PC app for it kinda sucks though.

Definitely was a great time for me as a music fan when I got my iPod.
Especially since it wasn't that hard to get stuff that wasn't in the iTunes library on there. For me that was mostly CDs I was buying at the time and music from MySpace and other (totally legal) downloading sites.

I've used iTunes pretty much my whole life and, to this day, I make sure it's on my windows installations. However, using it on Windows is terrible, especially if you are running an NVIDIA GPU. Scrolling through albums and using the menus is a laggy, unoptimized experience, and it's not like they could do much about it anyways

as somebody who still uses iTunes on my 2010 21.5' iMac, it is such a pain with a large music library. i have just over 35GB of music ripped off of my CDs and the amount of times songs have been duplicated, missing, or moved to a completely different album is too many times to count. it's even worse going the UA-cam to MP3 route... but it sucks even more knowing its the only app i can use on my Mac to sync with my iPod nano 6! so complicated, and for what??!

i use itunes still on pc, mainly cause i use apple music on my phone. Its alright, but i hate how on the apple music app no crossfading of songs, but on itunes you are able to, that is my only gripe with apple music/itunes. Also the winrar free trial style popups for itunes can be annoiying, i use an old iphone as a webcam for my streams and such and it goes hey do you wanna update this phone that hasnt moved in like 2 years, then it asks to update itunes.
