Put it in the freezer after it's full. (Insects can't stand the cold)Then dump it out in a bag. Reuse the container putting fresh fruit inside and repeat the process.
@@BirdyOfficial -- I think the point was that without *killing them* , once you've attracted them, you haven't really solved the problem. They can fly back out again. That's why the method using a liquid as the bait (typically apple cider vinegar) works better, since once they fly in and settle on the bait, they drown (it helps to add a few drops of dish soap to the vinegar, to break the surface tension).
I like this, you do not have to kill them this way, but can let them go somewhere far away from your house. All this killing that many speak about below - this is not good, we humans are far too aggressive (the most aggressive species on Earth as a matter of fact) - every living creature deserves to live, so I always opt for not killing them if you can get rid of them in another way... My 2cts ;-)
Why don’t just use a plastic water bottle. Cut in half, flip it tape it. It cone like they try to fly to the highest point where it is trap. You funny. Plus I just use coffee with sugar. Or fruits punch.
I tried it with rotten banana and apple cider venigar and dish soap but not working, was using plastic wrap with holes are compulsory I did this without plastic wrap no result..
Are there fruit flies in your surroundings? Fruit flies are highly attracted to rotting bananas and if you place the rotten banana anywhere the flies will attract and the plastic wrap is not necessary at all, it just stops the flies to get out from the bottle easily.
Birdy Official Thanks for the reply ya there are too many fruit flies in my kitchen, some time back we left to our home town for 10 dsys leaving bananas open I started facing after we returned back home seems they have laid eggs at many places, actually i used this trap using rotten bananas it s attracting flies too but flying away may be this time I have to try with plastic wrap...

Michael De Jesus i was planning on feeding the flies to my pet jumping spider
@@ericz8478 haha me too but years later and I have a lot of them and other spiders and T's
I was gonna ask..so how do they die?
1 spoon of curd ...also work very well
@@sonukoli8561 Thanks for sharing you knowledge
Going to try this right now
Sure, I tried it and found that it's the best as compared to other traps.
Excellent method. Thanks a lot
Thanks for the appreciation
Nicely done....Now how do you get rid of them:)?
Mohammed ali If you want to kill them you can fill the jar with water for a minute or two.
10000 and 100000 of thanks fr this video... gonna try ryt now..
Thanks
I’m going to try it. That picture after 24 hours was disgustingly convincing.
It works great,,, but depends on the number of flies in your house or surrounding.
Very good idea....thank you very much
Thanks for the appreciation!
ill try it rn I need frruit flies to feed my frogs as the local pet shop that sells fruit flies just shutdown
I couldn't imagine buying them and bringing them home, though I would watch the Frogs eat them
Would some of the flies fly away because of the holes
Some may get out, but more and more try to go in.
No. Like a fish trap, they go in, but can’t seem to find their way back out!
Use crushed Basel leaves instead of fruits. We can easily trapp them
Thanks for suggestion.
So how would they die
@@annagutierrez4373put water and soap they'll die easily
i put banana in jar with balsamic vinegar worked well
Thanks for telling,,, banana is their favorite.
Best
Thanks
How to use it in vegetable garden
Does it work on mango gardens?
It will certainly help in reducing the numbers of flies.
The flies go in and go out so how are they trapped?
They can't go out side that easy.
aap bata sakte hrin ke koi easy kaboor ka trap
1000bugs are flying arround and not even one trapped inside...😝😝
More like ~ how to attract fruit flies.
Yes, but without attracting how would you handle them???

Would you still be of that view if bitten by a mamba, grabbed by a croc, swarmed by hornets ?
Im not getting on a bus and taking them on a day trip ! 🤣
thanks man
Thanks you too for watching and comment!
You forgot to warn “No fruit flies were harmed in the making of this video.” As is, abusive clickbait.
thats a cool video.
jackson dopp Thanks for liking!
thanks.
Does it catch the fly too.?
No, there are separate trap for house flies.
The flies should be dead !!! Otherwise it's not done !!
Agreed, but if someone want to kill the flies he/she can dip the bottle in the water.
Food for my insects whooop!!!!

This attracts them but does not kill them! So they keep flying around
After entering the jar they cannot go out easily. If you want to kill them you can fill the jar with water for a minute or two.
put in freezer for a few hours, repeat

These are drosophila melanogaster commonly known as fruit fly. And there is also another type of fruit fly.
Yuck!
