DEION SANDERS: MEDIA ATTACKS ON COLLEGE ATHLETES IS PURE JEALOUSY

  • Welcome to Hydration Situation, where X’s & O’s meet I’s & U’s!!!
Deion Sanders isn't holding back on how the media treats players, and I’m here for it. He’s calling out the unnecessary criticism and negativity thrown at athletes, and he’s right-it’s deeper than just sports. This is about how the media tries to tear down players' legacies. Let’s break down why Deion is speaking facts and how these attacks reveal more about the critics than the players themselves!!

Look at all the people who have come forward, in different areas, saying that Deion is the opposite of what he says. Standoffish. Entitled. Always something about him being a black man, type shit. Many have said this and speak of it. Imagine how many don’t. I’m a lil shocked you see it the way you do, for real. I legit agree with you on damn near all your views or points. Next you have to make the grades and go to class like everyone else. Next thing is to remain healthy and not injured. And finally just because you get a "scholarship" doesn't mean you keep it. You can lose it from failing grades, injury, politics, or sleep with the wrong person's daughter, wife, sister, etc. 99 percent will be lucky to parlay this into a better job or business deal because the majority will not make the pros or even graduate. These two things can be true:
    - journalists know the power they wield, they use it NOT OUT OF JEALOUSY but because THEY CAN, because that serves the purpose Oscar Wilde warned us about 110 years ago: they are the fourth estate, the fourth power. They have become the arm of forcing social change (or any agenda, political or otherwise). And they use it.
    - Deion is primarily concerned with a couple of players, one of them being his son.
Marcellus, quite often you use your solid common sense and wisdom to help others see all sides and especially nuances. I think we all appreciate that.
There is little wisdom in how Deion acts or speaks. That is not to say he has bad intentions, it's just that growing old doesn't always translate to becoming wise. He's still too close to a certain loud mouth, over the top act culture that primarily seeks superficial impact, not deep resonance.
