      Caitlin Clark is a ROOKIE. She has PLENTY of time to be in the LIMELIGHT for years to come. WHY force it????

    • @Mandownsports
      @Mandownsports 5 днів тому

      @marcelluswileydatdude here's the net of it, Caitlin elevated the WNBA based on her play IN COLLEGE and the media elevated her to the top of the league as a player and the players understand she was not gonna be the best, they were motivated to prove it and the media got mad because they weren't able to give her the MJ, Tiger, Serena or TB12 treatment. They accused everyone of jealousy and that started the tension. Caitlin's play on yhe court early on didn't give the media enough ammo to go the war until after the Olympic break and Shannon is back for revenge on every female that didn't agree with him months. But Andrea is right, the arguement was never about if Caitlin was or would be good, it was about if she should be on the Olympic team for marketing and if the females that played tough defense or said she would have to adjust were jealous. Shannon and SAS are playing a dirty game right now

      Most black men love Caitlin Clark & most black women hate her. Instead of appreciating her greatness they feel threatened & that the other black players are disrespected cause they’re black. Has nothing to do with color and everything to do with how she plays the game and handles herself.

    I love your honest and straightforward comments. Amazing how so many who claim to “tell it like it is” really don’t. You do and I respect that. The saddest thing is to see these older players as threatened as they are. If you are truly great you love making others greater than yourself. And they should want to see the sport they claim to love grow. It shows me that they don’t love and never did love the sport, they loved and still love the attention they got from the sport. They played for the personal recognition, not for love of the game. The truly great are not threatened by the greatness of others. The truly great see a future great player and take their hand and help that player surpass them…because they love the game!

    Shannon and Stephen A got their @$$ handed to them when CC was snubbed for the US team. They were made to look silly, Now when everything came to pass, all these women were made to look foolish by Caitlin. The woman was more than deserving to be at the Olympics. What a massive L to grow the league. Now all the games are being carried in viewership by CC and the Fever. They did not grow the game. Just because of pettiness and jealousy. Disgraceful.

    I called it from the vary beginning, from a money making/Marketing standpoint CC is the MJ of the WNBA. I don't know if she'll be on the Mount Rushmore when her career is all said and done, but some of these ESPN people and WNBA players were 100% choosing as side based on things that had nothing to do with basketball, but were disguising it as that's what it was.

There's a level of reverse racism there as well because she is white.... and on the other side you have people saying or acting like every player before clark or playing in the league is trash. There's also a level of racism there too. Considering its not often a white american dominates in basketball.... its the reason why there are only clark fans or reese fans. As a Pats fan, we did not like the Chargers/Bills back in the day, but we always respected Marcellus as a player. And that respect has grown exponentially as we've gotten to know him as a person. He keeps ish 💯, and keeping it real only goes wrong for extremists & for poor suckas on the Chapelle show
    As for this segment, I despise lot of what Disney & EsPN have devolved into. ESPN for Leaning into activism ova objective journalism. But will say, I am a huge Andraya Carter fan & i also dig Chiney a lot too. And imo Andraya def does not belong in the CC hate club with Swoopes & others. Molly tho, she def threw shade at CC on multiple occasions. Andraya didn't, but she absolutely made it seem like CC didn't deserve a spot on Olympic roster for both reasons. She didn't just arguing against the promotional aspect of CC on team USA. She also made arguments basketball wise. Which were asinine at the time & look even more ridiculous. It was like peeps like Mcnutt, Elle Duncan, are jealous of the love CC was getting. And the felt need to gate keep at CCs expense. I don't put Andraya in that category, I truly think she just didn't wanna ruffle feathers and I hope as time goes on she gets more comfortable doing so. But Elle Duncan, Mcnutt, just seemed petty & like I said we're so obv gate-keeping for the current vets & past players. And they were cool with diminishing CCs greatness to do so which is classless & petty. Could go on but peeps afraid of words nowadays & already many kids will mistake this for an epic novel cuz they only know a world of character limits & are terrified of words. Despite fact that it only took me 22 secs to write this & another 6 secs to half-ass proof-read....

      You're not wrong.....But it's more than that. All the talk....Love...Hate... for Kaitlyn Clark the last 3yrs. I've yet to see any Media actually discuss and dissect Why Clark captured the imagination of her Fandom. She was not a #1 recruit out of H.S. She was a Iowa prep star but was not even recruited by UCONN.
      The UCONN Stars during their 20 yr run (2000 - 2020) Ten 'Chips 4 in a row
      They put out 4 or 5 White Superstars but they never helped Generate Heat for the WNBA not even the NCAA women really...so what's different about Kaitlyn??? It's more than being white
      imo it helped that she played a lot like Steph... long range gunner...clutch shooter....RIVALRY with Black Team...She was seen as leader of underdog Team (a la Larry Bird and Indiana State) Most important...It was just her time.

When Jordan was getting all these endorsements and deals, was anyone crying and complaining about the fact that no one was giving this type of attention to David Thompson or Connie Hawkins? No. Was anyone complaining that there was no Nike Air Archibalds? No. Why? Because like the WNBA, the NBA was damn near irrelevant before Magic, Bird and Michael hit the scene and revolutionized the game. But somehow these women like Monica McNutt think that just because they're women, they should all share equally in the attention Caitlin Clark is responsible for bringing. GTFOH

    Molly and Carter straight up lied. Carter was hating like hell defending McNutt the rest of the folks hating on CC. Molly made the one of the dumbest comments when she said team USA isn't taking Caitlyn because she's not as talented they don't need to take her for marketing. Women can't help but bring women down we're seeing it in the WNBA and in politics. Look at politics they'll try tear down everything all the women who came before them fought so hard for they can have the rights they do today and then what do they do? They go ahead and side and or vote for people who want to roll those rights back and then cry foul when they are put in a life and death situation and blame the rest of the world for the problems they created for themselves.

    Stephen A Smith should be comparing Caitlin Clark to the Dallas Cowboys. He loves the player but hates the fanbase. Shay Shay is a joke. nah SHannon telling the truth. Dont need to follow CC closely to see that women are HATING! Nah you can see that by watching the wnba for 2 weeks or listening to Sheryl Swoops talk. The CC bandwagon is so easy to get on because it's on the side of RIGHT. CC has been literally physically abused and not protected by the league. I love my black skin but those black women should be ashamed. Stop holding CC accountable for what she has been given or because she has the most fans. The hate is making her BIGGER
